Goldstrike Casino has become an absolute disaster zone under the new ownership. This place has nosedived so hard it's almost impressive -- if neglect, filth, and incompetence were an Olympic sport, they'd take the gold. Nothing works. The elevators have been broken for months, leaving only one in service. It's a safety hazard and a blatant ADA violation waiting to happen. Elderly guests, people with disabilities, and staff are forced to wait for ages or climb stairs while management pretends it's not their problem. Maybe an ADA investigation is the only thing that will finally get them to care. The casino floor? Dead. No payouts, no energy, no life. Machines are tighter than a vault and about as exciting as a morgue. The staff look miserable, clearly beaten down by leadership that gives zero concern for morale or guests. Then there's the food -- if you can call it that. The restaurant and steakhouse are an insult. My steak smelled so foul it was actually nauseating -- like rancid meat and dirty gym socks. It was disgusting, and management usually doesnt even blink. Typically No apology, no replacement, no basic decency. Just indifference. They took the steak off the bill for once but I didnt even eat any of it it was so disgusting. The entire property is dirty, outdated, and depressing. Stained carpets, broken fixtures, and an overwhelming feeling that no one in charge has lifted a finger in months. It's honestly unsafe and unsanitary. Their "1 Star Rewards" program couldn't be more fitting -- because that's exactly the experience you'll get: 1 star service, 1 star cleanliness, 1 star management, and 1 star safety. Goldstrike used to have pride and atmosphere. Now it's just greed, grime, and garbage. This place should be shut down until someone competent takes over. read more

Gold Strike Casino We had a family reunion @ Gold Strike. We looked for a hotel close to home town and nearby Juneteenth events. Rooms are dated and bring your favorite pillow. Book online for every booking including group. Jalissa (check -in) was professional and patient. Our family reunion dinner at the Chicago Steakhouse was the highlight. Rex was very accommodating. Omar and the waiter's staff were excellent and outstsnding, The food was succulent, but I couldn't remember the chef's name. When we arrived at the hotel, we were informed our reservation made a month ago was cancelled due to the computer having the wrong date, but we were able to get a room anyway. We were put on the 29th floor, and the hotel only had 1 elevator of 4 working. The wait times to go up were long, and the elevator was packed like sardines coming down from 29. We tried taking the stairs once to avoid this, but the stairwell took us down to the bowels of the casino where workers directed us to a service elevator, which was again a long wait, to go down 1 more floor to the lobby. The room was on a smoking floor, and while the hall smelled of smoke, the room did not. It wasn't the cleanest room, but it wasn't too bad. The beds were nice and comfortable. There's really nothing else around as far as restaurants or much entertainment besides the 2 casinos here, so the choice of restaurants is a little limited. read more

I know Yelp probably makes me look bad, but please know my goal is not to bash, spread hate, etc. I try to just be direct and honest. This hotel used to be really nice. I've been here with other friends previously and they had a great experience. It's my 30th birthday today, and I really wanted to treat myself. I spent approximately $450 to stay here for my birthday. As soon as I walked into our hotel room, the smell almost made me gag. I couldn't handle it. It smelled like urine. Just straight up urine. It's important to know, when COVID 19 hit, I lost my sense of smell and when it came back it was altered, so it's hard for me to discern what things smell like. I work in the mental healthcare field, through so I'm used to what urine smells like. We bought a candle in the gift shop with hopes I could use that to get the smell out, but we didn't even try it because I couldn't get the smell out of my head. I caved and I asked my husband if he could request a different room. The staff was really nice and accommodating and got us another room. Staff were absolutely not a problem and were so kind and helpful. We moved and went to another room....Guys, this one smelled, as well. It wasn't as strong as the previous room, but there was something there. I asked my husband (because remember, my smell is messed up and I can't discern what smells like what, but I know when something smells good, when something has no smell, and when something smells bad) "does it smell weird in here to you?" He looked really uncomfortable and was like "yeah." I asked "ok can you tell me what it smells like because I just don't understand why this one smells too." He said "I know you don't like it...but it smells like vomit" (I have a phobia of vomit and vomiting-not just "I don't like it" but actual panic attack, flip out, phobia). I at least felt better knowing I wasn't losing it, but I don't want to spend the rest of my weekend in a hotel room that smells so horrific, plus the remote control on the television wasn't working in the new room, as well. The television in the first room was messed up, too because it kept dimming and brightening the screen.The one in the new room's remote doesn't work correctly, so we turned it on and it was blasting full volume and took forever to turn the volume down. Anyways, we're just going to check out early. I can't handle the smell, I want to enjoy my 30th birthday, so we asked Beth with customer service if we could check out early and not get charged. She was great and said as long as it's before 11, we're good! Anyways, the two stars are for Beth and the kind lady who checked us in and switched our room. The Chicago steak house was also great and the waitresses serving drinks on the casino floor were very quick, attentive, and kind. read more

Not a great place. We reserved two rooms during what I hope is the "off" season. The property was 80% empty. Despite all the issues, this is still the highest priced room in Tunica. We stayed here because we did not want any issues. We are both MLife members. Please note, THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE ROOMS HERE. Noticed we did not have housekeeping after our first day; phoned the desk. When I asked for housekeeping, the girl did not answer, but instead said this: "if you would like some towels I can send them up." Wait, what happened with the housekeeping? "If you want some towels I can send some up." Um, so... not even a straight answer. Turns out, after you arrive, there is no housekeeping. This was NOT mentioned in the reservation process. They spring this on you after you arrive. Again, a full price property. And four days -- no cleaning. At $159 a night? Terrible. The rooms are probably the best in Tunica, but apparently that is not saying much. Rooms were originally well furnished, but now showing signs of age. There were spots of hair, dust and not-too-clean areas. Mattress was good. Room was quite cold (winter) and heat was not working. Had to request even a blanket. Shower pressure is poor. Be aware there is no food available anywhere on the property after ten pm. You have a fridge and microwave. There is only one other property adjoining (Horsehoe), and they are limited also. If you need anything you are gonna have to drive. There is nothing at all nearby. And take note, there is a buffet here, but I would not recommend you eat there. It is awful. Go somewhere else, enough said. This is not a scenic location, there are high floors but the rear of the place overlooks some kind of abandoned property. This was a Marriott property when we arrived, but there were prominent notices posted everywhere that the property has been sold to an Indian Tribe. My thought is that they were just limping along until the new owners take over (i think in March). The casino with table games is fair, but limits were high the week we were there, so there is much better gambling available down the road (at Fitz and Sams). By friday we realized there was a poker event so the occupancy went way up, along with table limits. Do not recommend at this time. read more

My experience began with a mosquito bite on the way to check in. As I passed the numerous Spartan mosquito basins in the trees, I could seriously feel the energy "buzzing" in the air. At the check in table, I was greeted by another patron smoking a cigar and a nice lady with a mosquito swatter. We were moved to a non-smoking room next to our friends, only to find out our friend was the guy smoking a cigar next to us, not the people we booked with. As our elevator creaked up to floor 4, we exited with care, checking for serial killers around the 1980's decor. Surprisingly, upon arrival to our room, the the key did not stick in the door as much as our bodies stuck to the comforter. The casino was not our friend, constantly watching money be swept away by the dealer. No worries, we had a reservation at Chicago steakhouse. Oh man! The steaks, the Mac cheese, vegetables all looked amazing...until you tasted the unseasoned food. Every bite was as bland as the college cafeteria. Luckily, our friend got us some free buffets in the morning, because heaven forbid someone pay for last nights pizza still under the warmer for breakfast. Want a Diet Soda? Sorry the machine by your table will be out and you'll have to go across the restaurant. If you're looking for a special get away to surprise your partner, this one is definitely (fool's) gold. I've stayed in every room at Goldstrike from your standard rooms up to their Suites. Every room has always been clean & stocked you rarely have to call housekeeping. Everything I'd expect out of a Hotel room of a fine Casino. Beds are comfortable & furnishings are nice. If you need anything extra housekeeping is on top of their game in getting you. What you need & are reasonably prompt. They also keep your room regularly clean so if you're staying the weekend or a day never expect a dirty room. Their room service menu has a great variety to offer for any meal of the day. Weather it's a amazing breakfast or Dinner. Their chefs will bring you up some of the best meals. Fresh & Hot from their kitchen. I've had about everything on their menu from their ribs & wings. I have yet to find one thing awful about it. It's very rare I ever have to send anything back. Their Gyms are reasonable for a great hotel with the best in modern weight & other exercise equipment. Their pool is relativity small crystal clear & clean but also has a nice hot tub too if chilling in the pool isn't for you.   If I had to recommend anywhere for the best hotel stay in Tunica. I'd immediately say Goldstrike with no questions. read more

The casino is nice, but the Hotel representative (Nikita) not so much! Food is okay, you can definitely find better in the surrounding area.

This place is not ok. There was a toenail behind my bed. Also, there was cigarette burns in my blanket. And they only made one bed in the room while we were gone. This place looks nice but it's discussing. And I guess they don't dust because there's dust there's a lot of dust under the bed and especially behind the beds. The buffet was terrible, horrible, discussing, and the pizza was dry and hard. I know it looks nice but, I would not go here again. read more

By far the best Casino in Tunica. Very posh atmosphere and great selection of gaming choices. We are video poker players for the most part and they have better than usual payouts. The Casino staff are always cordial and friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed with stylish decor worthy of a resort hotel. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms clean. But this stay is just awful first I requested to be close to the elevator, of course they give me a room at the end of the hall, farthest for the elevator. So I notified them and they give me another room closer to the elevator... unfortunately this room is not clean the walls are dirty, the furniture has dust build up, the carpet has stains and in 90 degree weather the air isn't working.... If you have a baby don't come. We asked for a crib and they obliged and unfortunately they brought up several cribs that were broken. We had to wait in the lobby while they were trying to get us another crib. When I asked how long this is going to take him for inconvenience we were told that they were not going to charge us $25 a day for the crib. As stated several hotels in groups for complementary this is the first time that you pay over $400 for three days to stay somewhere and they're trying to charge you for a Crib. I don't think they will invite me back but I am just being critical but honest Check in was easy. No upgrade available they told me to come back the next day at 2. We didn't just stayed in the same room Room and bathroom were clean. There was some wear and tear like paint that needed to be touched up on the doors and walls. Lighting was ok. Plenty of lamps just not very bright. Had to call housekeeping twice once for more towels and again to clean the room despite me telling them at 8 am we were leaving room and they could come anytime. They did around 6 pm! The spa is weak. Minimal amount of equipment. No shower! Only one bathroom for the entire facility! Ridiculous!! The pool was small hesitant about swimming in it as it looked dirty. The attendant said it was clean it was just the paint that peeled off. Not attractive I asked for a locker I had to sign a paper and then was shown a locker the size of a breadbox. You could fit a pair of shoes in it. Furthermore this was in a communal area. There is no locker room. The attendant told me I could change in the bathroom! Wow. Very poor facilities. The casino was very smoky. They have a non smoking section on the second floor but no craps tables up there and minimal gaming stuff The Horseshoe casino only 50 yards away was brighter and much better air quality Spent a couple of hours watching football in Moneyline their bar and grill. Good appetizers and buckets of beer. Ordered a club s as sandwiches. Poor. Little flavor cheap sliced cheese. You can skip this one This is not a Vegas hotel and casino. It's always the best place to be in Tunica. The best steak house, 6 eateries, new modern gym equipment with TV's, water and waters, 2 indoor hot tubs and warm inviting pool with skylights, 2 bars with one having live entertainment several nights a week, cigar bar and non-smokng upstairs and a terrific theater with very nice shows. (Kenny G, Darius Rucker, Vince Gill, Beatles revue, magicians, Charlie Daniels, Heart, and lots more) The steak house is by far the best around, and the revamped cigar bar is very nice with weekly tastings. Rumor has it that the food court is going through a big remodel and is supposed to be much nicer when completed. The VIP lounge is open on weekends only these days, and it is quite comfortable with food and full bar, big TV'S and comfy seating. By the way, this was the tallest building in Mississippi until recently, and the views from the 20's and 30's are quite stunnkng, especially the sunsets. The rooms, restrooms and entire property is always clean and the staff always pleasant with hosts that do a great job of making your experience a good one. The complimentary drinks and servers are always on the ball, valet is complimentary and bellman are on the ball as well. Goldstrike is the closest you are going to get to Vegas anywhere in the middle of ghe country, and don't forget Tunica is the 3rd largest gaming area in the US. Competition means more comps, better customer service because they want to retain your business, unlike places like Foxwoods, Bilouxi, New Orleans, St. Louis, etc. They only 1, 2 or 3 casinos and ypu can tell that they know your choices are limited and they treat you like you're lucky that they are there, unlike here where 9 different resorts with golf courses, camp grounds, thousands of rooms, a plethora of food choices and contests and giveaways galore.Regarding Goldstrike, I can tell you that if you find something that is not to your preferences, just pick up the phone or see a host and they will go out of their way to make it right. That goes a long way towards earning my repeat business and loyalty, just try that at some if the other venues and you will see the difference. CAVEATS: ASS of July 2015 the economy is finally catching up with even Goldstrike. No more Fiji water in suites, no room service during he day except on weekends (still 24/7), and only food after 10pm is Burger City. This is a sad turn of events. There are cutbacks in different places, but the resort still has all the amenities at night and weekends, but they are obviously doing some staff hour reductions and making money saving moves, while necessary, that make the experience a little less resort like for those who want to come for extended stays. Overall this is still the best place for gambling with plenty of blackjack tables (several double decks available), craps, baccarat and mini bac, every slots and video pokers, and the entire upstairs for non-smokers. The air I'm fresh and climate right, a gift shop and his stake blackjack & slots for high rollers. It's by far the best casino resort experience around, and when choosing your place for a getaway I highly recommend making Goldstrike your destination of choice. read more

So thought this was going to be like little Vegas, however it was nothing like Vegas.While we had reservations we were told there were no rooms. How do you have no rooms with reservations. First night while sleeping in the wee hours, we hear someone with a key card open our door. Well trick was on them, the secondary chain was on. However they managed to get the door open and it was a staff member from the hotel. After discussing with Manager they thought it was not a huge deal. What? Not big deal someone entering a room at 1:00 a.m. that we paid for? 2nd day/night wasn't as terrible. They advertise latte's at their coffee bistro but when ordering a latte I was told they don't have what they are advertising. (thank goodness for the Starbucks at the Horseshoe Casino next door). Trying to Valet your vehicle as a hotel guest of the Gold Strike is a joke. Valet is always full. How is a Valet always full when it is to be utilized for hotel guest of the Gold Strike? Which there should be a spot for each room. You would think? Chicago Steak House was the best thing to offer at the Gold Strike. Which was definitely a five star. We drove five hours for a hotel that looks like a Motel 6, the room was dirty, with a staff of people that do not go the extra mile for their paying guest. read more

This casino is ok. The hotel has thieves that will steel your money. The maid came in my room while there was a do not disturb sign on the door. She took my perception drugs and 200 bucks. The security people where nice and told me that she had entered the room with no good excuse. They could tell that she was in after a lock audit. The upper management did nothing but treat me like I did something wrong. Very arrogant condescending. I was up about 2k so I packed up and took business across the street. I will not be back and I will tell a lot of people. A lot of casinos in tunica have went bankrupt I predict this will be next. read more

This is only my second time at a casino but I would say this was one of my better experiences. Everything was very well kept and tidy. I'm always a bit timid to go into places such as this but the employees there were so nice and made me feel at ease. I registered for my rewards card, won some free play and proceeded into the actually gambling area. Everyone is about the slots but I like the virtual card games at the bar. As long as you play you get free drinks so having the bar that close is super convenient. I stuck around that area playing blackjack most of the time but I ventured around the entire area for a while. Everything was very clean, tidy and even though you could smoke inside, there was no real smoke smell. I would recommend this casino to any first time gambler. read more

All in all, a really nice hotel! Shows a little signs of wear and tear here and there, but is is quite a few years old. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly, and got us checked in quickly. The room was very nice and clean and had a nice view of the Mississippi River. I was surprised at how very comfortable the bed was too! I was glad that the pool and hot tub were indoors, since we went in February. I also LOVED that the pool area was only for adults 18 and over too...so much more relaxing!! Has a lot of otential for improvements. The rooms are mediocre, no refrigerators, will-fi sucked, room wasn't ready when arrived,even with arriving late. Majority of personnel was nice and helpful--the helpful personnel is why I rate the hotel a 3 (otherwise I'd give it a rating it a 2. For a MGM hotel, I expected more. When I go on vacation, I want to leave my problems behind--not deal with new ones of no towels, people in our group having their luggage moved to another room w/p being notified that their was being changed, hassles of room keys not working, player cards not activated...it was a calamity or errors....all the problems took away from having a great experience. Only because i cant go any lower. Booked on hotel.com. Called to comfirm and tell them we would be a late arrival. The smoke was the worst i have ever experience at any casino. There was not anywhere that it would not smell. There were hidden fees with room 9.50 plus 40. Per room and we had three already paid for with hotel .com. The forty was suppose to be returned upon checkout per man who checked us in and told us that we had to pay these fees. Since we did not get back, i called to be told it would take up to ten days to get back. The sign for buffet said 12.99 but then they charged us 25.99 for some kind of morning drink bar that we didnt use or want. Since there were five of us this was quite more than we could ever dream of eating for breakfast. The room was only fair only two small pillows on king bed, one in closet. Room smelled strange smell.
