The owner sent me pictures of someone's else trashing stating it was mine. They also sent me a bill that was inaccurate and got upset because I corrected their error. I was told verbally that deposits will be returned within 3 days and later it was emailed stating 7-10 days. When I inquired on day 10 why I hadn't received my deposit, I was given excuses about a family member dying and no one was available. I finally got $200 deposit back today and I inquired about my $50 that was obviously missing. I was told that I left the air on and trash outside. She also provided a picture of the trash. However, my event didn't serve red cups that were clearly seen in the picture. I support black businesses but this one is a SCAM. I would never rent from Skyy Room event hall again and I advise anyone else to be cautious.

Soooo much amazing history. The house is absolutely beautiful. A lot of work has been put into it to keep it this well preserved. "The house was built in 1840 by Joseph Chalmers, the District Attorney for Marshall County. He was the father of James Ronald Chalmers and H.H. Chalmers and uncle to Jefferson Davis. It was designed as a two-storey, hip-roofed house. It was purchased by E. B. Horn in 1900. He paid $10.00 down in December of 1899 and remaining balance of $690 on January 1, 1900. Horn turned the house, which was facing East, to face North after his wife refused to live in the house because it faced a hog farm. He also redesigned it in the neoclassical architectural style. Shortly before World War II, in 1938, the house was purchased by the McAuley family. Mrs. McCauley was asked how she liked the house and her reply was "This will do me". What started as the "this will do me" house became Thistledome." It was acquired by Jill and Todd Maxwell in 2012. The couple turned it into a restaurant/coffee shop/venue."

She didn't disappoint me. It was very yummy and the employee was just a doll. I spoke with the friendly owner about the lunch special for tomorrow. I love supporting locally owned family businesses.

The lobby area is cute and has a conservatory room which is cozy and very eclectic. The breakfast was OK, they need to add more variety. The gym and pool are great and the staff is friendly. Due to covid they did not have actual plates and spoons and cups, which is hard to deal with when one is here for 2 weeks. Hoping that will change soon.
