We had our bathroom remodeled and honestly couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The bathroom was pretty outdated before, so it was a big change for us. The team was great to work with and really listened to what we wanted. Everyone was friendly, showed up when they said they would, and kept us updated throughout the project. There were a couple little things that came up during the remodel, but they handled them without making it into a big issue and made sure everything was taken care of properly. The tile work and finishing details came out really nice, and the whole bathroom feels completely different now. It looks clean, modern, and much more open. They also cleaned up after themselves, which I really appreciated because remodeling can get messy. Overall, really good experience from start to finish. We're very happy with the final result and would definitely use them again for another project in the future. I would recommend them to anyone looking to update their bathroom. read more

Golden Age Builders completed a kitchen remodel for us. Tomas designed a gorgeous plan and stay involved the entire project. He was very helpful and patient as we thought through our options and we appreciated the line by line estimates for both materials and labor Danielle was the designer. Very professional, a great communicator, and easy to work with. They did not over promise. They were very honest about the amount of time that would be needed to complete the project, and they delivered. We couldn't be happier with the remodel or our decision to work with this team. read more

We recently had our kitchen remodeled with Tomas as the project manager. He was easy to talk to and made sure to check in regularly, which helped when a few things didn't go as smoothly as planned. Some of the deliveries were delayed, and a few of the cabinets and drawers didn't fit perfectly at first, which was a bit frustrating, but Tomas stayed patient and came back to fix the issues. The crew worked hard and were polite, even when I kept changing my mind about small details like handles and lighting. Now that it's done, the kitchen feels so much brighter and more functional, and cooking in it has actually become enjoyable again. It's not flawless, a couple of tiny things I might tweak later, but overall I'm really happy with how it turned out and how Tomas handled the process. read more

Tomas from Golden Age Builders is a magician! He took the limited space we had and guided us to amazing solutions! We had so little pantry room that was connected to the laundry room in a weird way. Now, after opening the walls and expanding the rooms everything just look PERFECT. This remodel truly resulted in improved workflow - we have an amazing and functional laundry and pantry rooms ! All our supplies and pantry items in this one room with plenty of counter space, better lighting bigger sink.. EVERYTHING, including the cooks, works better! We didn't feel pushed into decisions but rather listened to and understood. We wanted a design whose beauty and functionality would endure over time and include important updated features. We believe we got that result and then some. We are happy customers. read more

Choosing a contractor to redo both our primary bathroom and guest bathroom was daunting! My husband and I met with several contractors to gather a few quotes. When Sebastian came over from Golden Age Builders, we immediately felt like this was a match. GAB was the highest bid, but we felt like we were in the best hands already after our consultation. Sebastian was open to ideas we had, he made thoughtful suggestions already, was knowledgeable about the industry/work to be done, seemed motivated by the project and gave my dog attention :) v important. He followed up when he said he would. Once hired, Stella from the office kept on top of payment gathering, etc during the whole duration of the project. Fast forward ~5 months, we have 2 beautiful new bathrooms! The whole team was really engaged in our project, they involved us in every decision, kept us updated with clear communication, everyone was so friendly and beyond talented. Our tile work is top notch (Sebastian came with us to pick out tile in NoHo @ Superior Tile, the shop was super friendly and easy to work with shout out to Jordan!), they took care of all the permit gathering with the city, the men who did the hard work were professional and kind. We even hired them to come back a few months later to install a water softener, a new roof and front windows in our house! We trust GAB and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for home upgrades in LA. After pics attached but if you're interested in the seeing the before, DM me! read more

Danielle did a outstanding job on my kitchen and bathroom remodel. i just bought a house in Anaheim and both looked horrendous. Danielle brought my ideas to life. Her team was hard working and paid very close attention to detail. They cleaned up very well after the project was complete. The price was perfect too. Their competitors could never compare with price or quality. If you need any remodels done in Anaheim reach out to them. Make sure to ask for Danielle! read more

I should have written this review months ago, but it is still valid today! We love our kitchen. Tomas and Danielle were so kind, professional, and responsive. Their experience, ideas, and recommendations were greatly appreciated, and there were so many options to choose from. Our designer, Danielle was never too busy to walk me through questions/concerns and show me how things were being addressed. I love the fact that she didn't always jump to the "buy new" solution and instead offered unique solutions for any issue. Estimate was easy and no nonsense with everything laid out. Kept in the loop as parts were constructed and our installation setup. The transformation was amazing and I couldn't be happier with the result! read more

I was never going to write this review but after 2 years we're still uncovering problems Golden Age Builders put upon my wife and I. We hired GAB in the summer of 2020 to do some home remodeling (specifically: building a fence, installing/creating a new window that wasn't there, building a roof deck, installing a new entry doorway). After about 4 months of work and nearly $100k spent, they "finished", however, my wife and I were severely disappointed (an understatement) in the work. As shown in the attached photos, they completely destroyed our outdoor space (I mean any all plant life decimated. You can see before and after in the photos), left numerous projects uncompleted (ceiling fans detached, drywall unfinished, filth everywhere), not to mention the new window was and still is a mess. For comparison in the photos, there is a photo where an existing window is on the left and one they installed on the right. Also, it took them 3 visits AFTER our work was completed to fix the window (as it had been consistently leaking whenever it rained) only to discover they had installed the wrong type of window to begin with. So on the 4th time around they finally installed the correct window only to now rediscover the window still leaks (see attached). I've hired other contractors since, and gotta say, I've never had any trouble compared to what we dealt with with Golden Age Builders. I can't even remember the last time I wrote a review for anything but I felt it necessary to warn any potential customers about what they're getting into with this company. read more

Danielle, Tomas, Michael and their entire team have transformed my house- I love it. They have helped me every step of the way with planning, permits, design and the build. They are very communicative and throughout my last year working with them I felt well informed and in good hands. Not to mention they are so kind and considerate- they are like family to me now. I appreciate the safety measures they put in place during the pandemic. I always felt safe. I also continued to live in my house while the kitchen, bathrooms and bedroom we being remodeled. Just like the saying goes: it's hard to find a good remodeling company. But we got lucky with Golden age builders! We used Thomas and his crew a little before Covid 19 hit (back in January 2020) to remodel our 1970's old kitchen. During the whole kitchen remodeling Thomas' and his men had made it Super Easy for my husband and I --from designing the kitchen, different options of the kitchen cabinets, to different colors of the countertops. They even brought sample kitchen materials for us to see at our house to choose-- This really helped us save some time driving around to different places checking out materials. We were so happy with the result of our new kitchen and how hassle free the whole kitchen project was. We even added new flooring and bolted down our entire house. Thanks to Golden Age Builders we were able to live comfortably during the whole stay at home Covid-19 quarantine. Now Fast forward to now January 2021, after a year of using our new kitchen I called Thomas to come back and help us relocate the kitchen air vent from one spot in the kitchen to another spot . And Thomas agreed and honored his kitchen remodeling guarantee of ONE yr and relocated our air vent for FREE! And the next day he sent his guy Rahul and took care of it right away! I honestly loved how quickly Thomas worked his magic for his customers and his workers always does an excellent job! I am truly thankful that I found Golden Age builders on our first remodeling project! This company is a One stop shop for remodeling newbies like us, who wanted to remodel their house but doesn't know how/where to start. I highly recommend Golden age builders for anyone that is thinking of remodeling their house, Thomas will take care of you. read more

This is a very real review, I have real in hand paperwork & security camera images of the worker who came over to prove it. These guys screwed me up from the beginning written contract. I saw the issues right away. Besides being very over expensive, (read other reviews here to confirm that). They sub-contract to others they know and if you get an inexperienced one like I did and you do not know any better, watch out. Do double due diligence! Felt I had to warn others to get several other written bids to cross check. If the company is so perfect then they can prove it to the person paying. There is no discrepancy in that. read more

We used Golden Age Builders to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom and it was the best decision I've made as a home owner. Danielle was my designer, she oversaw my entire project. She is incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of construction. There is nothing that she doesn't know!! She gave me the most beautiful, well thought out proposal out of any other bid I got, indicated each step of the process, who would be handling that phase, what date(s) they would be here and for how long. We truly appreciate it and we love our new remodeled kitchen and bathroom! We'll be recommending Danielle to friends and family! read more

I highly recommend Golden Age Builders (GA). We recently hired GA to demolish and convert our lower crawlspace/storage space to a city permitted Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU). The project consisted of adding a kitchen, bathroom, windows, flooring etc. I gathered nearly 10 bids from different contractors. GA was neither the most expensive nor the least. They stayed true to their estimate. Their design team suggested great ideas that could enhance our space. The most impactful to mention would be a change to the bathroom floor plan which utilized the entire space much better. GA said they could complete the project within 4 - 6 months. They were finished in 5 months. They worked well with Los Angeles City Plan Checkers and Inspectors. Each inspection passed on the first attempt. During one inspection, the LA city inspector even pointed out our plumbing to an inspector trainee as 'the right way to do it' which he said many contractors do not do. I was proud at that moment for my choice to go with GA. As first-time homeowners we were new to many processes. The GA team took time to explain any and all processes. There were times when my messages were blunt. They never responded with frustration. But rather took time to explain the options and allowed us to make the decisions on our own. In the beginning, Golden Age pitched their company as a family operation that treats their customers likewise. They had several opportunities to prove this notion. At each, they went above and beyond. For example, late one evening, our toilet backed up. It turned out to be unrelated to the construction being done. Still GA sent a plumber immediately at 8:00 PM. The plumber literally ran up and down a steep hill dozens of times to fix the issue that same night. Their workers were kind to my family, even making sure to close doors behind them to keep our dog in the yard. Which is a tedious thing to do when lugging materials and tools in and out all day. After 5 months you get to know some crew. I can say humorously that after months of construction beneath my feet I couldn't wait for the work to stop. But I have missed the team members since they're gone. I think that indicates that they made good on the family promise. We are now enjoying our permitted space more each day. Thank you, Golden Age! read more

The team at Golden Age Builders gave me my dream kitchen. They provided A- Z service, are very professional and attentive to our needs. From appliances to flooring to tiles, and design to paint colors, everything you need for a kitchen renovation. I always expect contractors to end up costing more than the estimate (all the hidden "surprises" that pop up once they get started), and I always expect the time they say it'll take to be double their estimate - that's the experience I've always had. But with Golden Age Builders, they were right on time and didn't cost a penny more than what they estimated. They were amazing! We needed our upstairs deck, which is fairly large, to be restored and repainted, along with the staircase that leads up to it, and my sister had just hired Golden Age for the first time herself to remodel her kitchen, bathroom, and living room (she found them on Yelp!). She had a wonderful experience with them, so I gave them a try. I liked them as soon as I met them. Tomas and Danielle came over to give me an estimate, and by the time they left I felt like they were family - seriously! They are so warm and friendly - and as I later discovered, honest, reliable, and very professional. Plus the work they did looked beautiful. I will definitely hire them again. read more

Overview: We bought a new house "as-is" that had large cracks in the garage floor. After replacing the original garage door (a once piece flip up), we realized that he new garage door would not completely close(see attached pictures). This was a major concern because it was starting to create a Disney-like atmosphere with random critters in our garage. Timeframe: Oct 05, 2020: Initial Consultation (pay initial deposit) Oct 13: Demo'ed previous floor (pay 50% of remaining balance) Oct 15: Laid out rebar, created a concrete step to my hour entrance, Completed (pay remaining balance) Pros: I worked with Tony and he was always quickly answered my phone or called me back immediately. Overall, I am really pleased with how quickly the work was completed and along with the good lines of communication. If anyone reading this review wants to follow up with me, shoot me a message and I can state the status of my garage floor. I found this company to have the best price per their online reputation. Cons: Usually, contractors come across disgruntled home owners that will leave a bad review for an unreasonable expectation. I was surprised that Golden Age Builders had no negative reviews and had 94 5-star reviews. I do not have anything negative to say about this company, and it has been wonderful dealing with all of them. COVID 19: Tony and the workers all managed social distancing and wore facemasks. I had no concerns about COVID 19 with our interactions. Final note: Payments are best made in check (maybe cash too?), credit card transactions will tack on an additional 3.0%) read more

Me and my fiance were looking for several companies on Yelp and we found Creative Design and Build. We called 4 different companies to come and bid on a garage conversion for us, so her mom could move in with us. All 4 companies had 5 stars review only. He explained us the process of the project and what will have to be the first step before we can start a project like that. Now, 4 months after approved the plans by the city and two months since the garage conversion we have to say that we are couldn't be happier with the decision we made by going with Golden Age Builders. We worked with Golden Age Builders on our ADU and kitchen remodel. Tomas and his team were wonderful - Tomas worked with us every step of the way, was very informative and responsive, and basically did everything he could to help out, answer questions, and put our minds at ease during this entire process. We stayed at the house during the construction which is not an easy thing while renovating a kitchen but Tomas and his crew were extremely patient and helpful through all of this, and did everything they could to make the process nice and easy. Their professionalism and dedication to making sure the job got done correctly is what really brought this project over the finish line. As far as the design, Danielle the head designer is amazing!! She is super talented, sweet and patient. She went with us to choose all the finished materials and the work looks beautiful, they did everything they could to accommodate our requests, and the end result looks spectacular. Could not have asked for more. We can't say enough about the whole team, with their professionalism, attentiveness and staying on schedule, they also treated us like family. We worked primarily with Danielle for the design and planning of our 1940s era kitchen renovation. Coming into the project our goals were #1 to add a dishwasher and #2 rejuvenate the kitchen and breakfast nook without destroying the existing charm. Tomas our project manager was professional and made sure we understood his plan. The project finished on time and on budget and his work crew was clean and professional. TLDR: Hire Golden Age. They are great communicators, professional, and ethical. Issues that inevitably come up during a big renovation will be handled with grace and efficiency. Have already recommended and will personally use again. BEFORE calling Golden Age Builders, I had a horrible experience with a contractor lying, not showing up, and dragging out a project. What's worse is that whomever I vented to seemed to nod as if that's just the way contractors are. My point is that I was paranoid and super wary. When my new place needed a top to bottom renovation, I got several bids. Golden Age was in the middle, but I liked that Tomas or someone on his team was easy to reach. In the end, everyone's communication was clear and calm, which was great whenever there was a speed bump or something that needed to be discussed. What I did NOT expect was how valuable Danielle, our designer, would be. She was assigned to us and began meeting with us soon after we signed on. My thought was that she might be somewhat useful, but I had no idea how much easier she ultimately, made our lives. She was instrumental in helping choose colors, themes, materials, appliances, carpet, and on and on and on. Each one of these items could have taken me forever (there are many many many shades of every color, for instance), but once Danielle understood our taste and our vision, she offered assertive recommendations that ultimately, saved us hours, and most importantly, turned out beautifully. She insisted on being present during all the finishes (flooring install, tile install, painting, appliance install, etc.) so that she could personally make sure that all the details were just so. Between Tomas (contractor), Danielle (designer), and the different teams of workers that graced our home, I can confidently recommend Golden Age. In fact, I already have. We're still living out of boxes, but I tried to clear some spaces out and take some pictures to give you an idea of how our place turned out. The workmanship is great and that's one thing, but the thing that I'm REALLY recommending is their trust and conscientiousness, which has given me peace of mind during a potentially stressful project. Believe me, I would know. read more

We needed a new house built on a century old foundation. Golden Age Builders did an amazing job from start to finish. Tomas listened to everything I was looking for and worked with my vision to turn it into a reality. His attention to sight lines and details is excellent. Danielle took me through all the work of choosing lights, cabinets, fixtures, etc. The two of them work so well together! Tomas was in charge of the construction, and he is a stickler! The philosophy of the company is one of excellence and honesty. I don't know this because it's on a website or brochure; I know it because I had the pleasure of being their client. If they choose a product, it is because they believe it is an excellent product. If they create anything, from a stair banister to a luxury bath or a whole house, it will be done to the highest standards. We purchased a new home where the previous owner had very old fashioned kitchen and bathrooms, that were rotting away.I searched on Yelp and called a few different contractors, and we picked Tomas from Golden Age Builders because he was the most responsive via phone and text, had solid reviews, plus gave the cheapest price (the trifecta!). My husband and I couldnt be happier with the quality of work and service that he provided... I called him on a Thursday evening and he came by the very next day, provided the quote the following morning, and started work a few days after that. We had to go out of town during the job but Tomas made sure to keep us updated daily with progress updates and pictures/videos via text. The design of our kitchen and 3 bathrooms was done with such great taste and classy touch. Tomas kept in mind all our needs and requests, applied them with professionalism and great care.
