We had an incredible experience working with Michael and Baldo at Bela Development. As first-time renovators, we were understandably nervous, but they guided us through every detail with patience, expertise, and care. They completed a full gut renovation of our primary bathroom and a renovation of our guest bath, and the results exceeded our expectations. The tile work is absolutely gorgeous, the attention to detail is next level, and the job site was kept impeccably clean--which was especially important since my partner and I were living in the house with our dogs throughout the project. That level of thoughtfulness made a huge difference. Baldo was amazing at problem-solving and offering smart ideas and workarounds, especially given the surprises that come with an older home (ours was built in 1977). I was genuinely excited to speak with someone about plans for our home, specifically to get an estimate for building an ADU. Unfortunately, my experience with Bela Development, particularly with the consultant who came to our property, was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. When I scheduled the appointment, I was never told that my husband needed to be present. So when the consultant arrived, he immediately seemed irritated and dismissive toward me, insisting that he "needed to speak to my husband" even though I explained he was at work. He pressured me to call him anyway, and when my husband answered, the consultant took the phone and started speaking to him in a condescending tone. He even said, "You don't buy a car without seeing it," as if my husband shouldn't trust my judgment or as if I wasn't capable of discussing our own home project. It came off extremely sexist. When my husband asked for an estimate (literally the whole reason we scheduled the consultation) the consultant responded mockingly and told him his understanding of ADU costs was "wrong." My husband had to get back to work and ended the call, and the consultant wrapped it up with, "Next time you do something like this, make sure you're here, not just your wife." That comment alone was enough for me to mentally check out. After that, his attitude shifted only when I mentioned different renovation ideas. Suddenly he became friendly and sales-driven, which felt insincere after the way he treated me for the first half of the appointment. He also promised a follow-up email with information we discussed, but I never received anything, further proving he wasn't genuinely interested in helping. Overall, the experience felt disrespectful, unprofessional, and blatantly sexist. I left feeling uncomfortable and undervalued as a customer. Because of this interaction, I would not recommend Bela Development. After posting my original review and follow-up, and after clearly requesting no further contact in writing, a representative of Bela Development returned to my home the following morning and left handwritten notes on my door asking that I remove the review. This visit was uninvited and occurred after I had requested no further communication. I am documenting this here so readers are aware of the continued follow-up related to my review. Top-quality work, on-time and on budget. Bela Development did a complete remodel of the master bathroom in our condo and we are very pleased. When mold and water damage was discovered behind the tile in the shower, they stepped up the schedule and got it cleaned, remediated and repaired quickly before continuing on to finish the job. It was a complete remodel. The room was gutted, mold and water damage discovered and remediated. The large window by the bathtub was converted to a narrower window higher up on the wall, the smaller window was replaced, then everything else was redone; new vanity, mirror, lights, automatic ceiling fan, toilet, tub and shower, all plumbing, plus wall tile fot the shower (with a nice cubby for shampoo, etc.) and vinyl flooring. The room was repainted with high quality paint and all fixtures were installed. They also replaced the old pocket door with a proper door. As a bonus, they replaced the nearby closet door with a matching door at no extra charge. The bathroom is now like a luxury spa; beautifully done, solid as a rock. We are very happy with the results. There were a few hiccups, a few problems that cropped, up, but Yossi and his team addressed them quickly. I recommend Bela Development for any remodeling work you need done in your home. The project was replacing and expanding our asphalt driveway with cement, and in every aspect Ben, Tom and Manuel were knowledgeable, responsive, flexible, honest and very nice. We worked with Bela Development for project that replaced our motorcourt and added irrigation to our yard. We had been having issues with water from the road flowing onto property and flooding our garage and sinking pavers. Bela Development worked with us to develop a solution to the water intrusion that included regrading the motorcourt area to prevent the road runoff, properly compacting the substrate, and adding improved drainage to handle rainfall. We decided to replace the existing pavers with concrete with brick ribbons to prevent a return of the paver sinking. While the motorcourt was torn up we also took the opportunity to run an existing water spigot to the yard and to add both sprinklers for the grass and drip irrigation from the flower beds and to add some outdoor electrical outlets to accommodate the sprinklers and future plans for low voltage lighting. Working with Bela Development was a great experience. They considered carefully a lot of different options for handling the volume of water flowing onto our property and came up with a workable solution that we have great confidence will alleviate the flooding we were experiencing. They listened to our requirements, took the time to answer our numerous questions thoroughly, and walked us through all of the work they performed as they performed it. They kept to their schedule, hired efficient, professional, and high quality subcontractors and double-checked that their work was done to high standards. As someone experienced with home remodels ( I have remodeled three properties top to bottom,) my kitchen remodel with Bela Development was by far the best experience. We had the consultation in late Nov. 2024 and by Jan 2025 we were loving our gorgeous new kitchen. He started with a virtual kitchen design so we knew exactly what we would be getting, he gave us great suggestions on our selections for finishes and cabinets, he was precisely on time for every meeting, and ensured our expectations were met by his crew. As with EVERY construction project, there are hiccups, timing issues, acts of God, but Moshe was always on top of things with a solution and pushed to get us what we wanted every time. The only delay was the evacuation order for the fires but even in an emergency, our project manager, Moshe, was an outstanding partner. All our friends were amazed at how soon our project was completed and the high quality of the finished outcome. I always expect overages, just what happens - but Bela Dev. Was right on the budget - no more - and adjusted my budget when I decided to cost reduce a line item. I highly recommend using Bela development for any construction needs. We were getting our house ready for listing, when we had a very untimely and stressful water leak. When we decided to remodel and relocate our master bathroom and closet, we started looking for contractors to handle the build process from start to finish. After consulting with four different companies, we ultimately decided on Bela based on their customer testimonials, beautiful pictures of completed projects, and most importantly the strong impression we got from Ben, the owner. Once we agreed to move forward with Bela, a detailed scope of work was drawn up detailing all of the different phases of the project like architectural plans and permitting, demolition, framing, electrical/plumbing, etc. After coming to an agreement on scope, price, and timeline, we were introduced to Michael our project manager to begin the process. Michael helped us every step of the way, making sure all key subcontractors were scheduled exactly when they needed to be. He and the Bela team also provided us with a detailed sheet of rough and finishing items that we would need to decide on and acquire for the project. This made keeping track items needing to be purchased, project style, and budget really easy and allowed us to always stay two steps ahead of the work. We didn't elect for a designer/decorator for this project, however Bela absolutely has you covered if that's something you'd like for your project. Once our permits and plans were approved and demolition began, we really saw the payoff of going with Bela. Every single one of the tradesmen on their team, from plumbers to framers to electricians to tile experts to painters were some of the most polite, punctual, high quality, and above all clean that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The site foreman, Tal, worked hand in hand with Michael and ensured that no detail was left out and that every stage was prepped and completed in the best possible order. Our project was completed within our agreed-upon timeframe, had only slight scope of work adjustments due to unforeseen complications with our mid-century home's plumbing, and turned out even better than we could have imagined.
