Traveller friendly with super affordable $13 day passes and equally affordable trainers and a great, positive energy place and people, clientele included. 24/7 means you can go before or after conferences and meetings. Great way to get feeling better again after spending all day in planes and airports especially for those of us who live in daily pain and need the workouts as mitigation. 10/10 going on my itinerary on my next trip. Buying a day pass was easy enough online from my room. Part of it is loading a mobile key-card app for off hours entry should you need it. When I walked in I was greeted by the owner (who is as big as a truck) with a giant smile, and when I asked if any trainers were available he quickly found Jordan for me. Jordan's rate was extremely affordable - so much so that I countered him with a higher rate. Part of the reason I wanted a trainer is because, frankly, I've seen the trainers at my home station and didn't find them compelling enough to spend the (much more) money on. Jordan, on the other hand, is exactly what I hoped for from a dedicated lifting gym with contracted trainers. Tots positive energy, super engaged with me from start to finish, taught me a TON, from proper warmups (which I have NOT been doing at home) to improving technique. He spent a lot of time with me helping me dial in my squat form, and even introduced me to floor wedges which I don't have at home. He pushed me to failure many times, always motivating, always keeping me safe and in form, and I got the most excellent wobbly legs from the workout :0 For those who are intimidated by real weightlifting gyms - don't be ! Yes, some of the people are as big as pickup trucks but usually they're the nicest folks ! No, no one is judging you - everyone is there working towards a self-improvement goal and giving positive vibes to help others meet their goals. I've never once felt ashamed or judged in a real gym, despite not being strong, not being big and frankly always carrying plenty of "insulation" around my belly. A real weight lifting gym can be very different than a fitness center, and if you really want to make strength progress I can't recommend them enough. Lifting heavy (which is relative to you - that could mean 5 lbs or it could mean 100 lbs) has profoundly positive effects on the body from strengthening bones to releasing beneficial hormones and discovering power lifting and moving off of the 300 different nautilus machines was a positive life changing move for me.

I wrote letters, emailed, and then got snarky texts from what I believe to be the owner. Only sign up for this gym if you never plan to leave Hazel Green or go to another gym. They are money hungry and could care less about their customers. Wrestling nights make the parking lot COMPLETELY full where sometimes you cannot even park. Attached are some of the texts the staff member who reached out to me sent after I requested cancellation for a FOURTH time since MAY. It is now almost SEPTEMBER. I read all of the comments on Google about people warning others about the business practices of this gym, and thought "Not in Hazel Green. It's so nice here!". I wish I would've listened. I have not been treated with respect or integrity, and I am 100% sure that I will also be smacked with some sort of greasy and condescending message from the owner as well now after reading his comments on other's posts who have stood up to him.

I am taking time to write this review for a phenomenal trainer who is also a genuine, incredible human being that this world needs more of and her name is Samra. I walked into the gym after recovering from some physical trauma and I couldn't quite get there. After a few months of feeling defeated and discouraged - ready to quit. Sabrina said "before you give up, let me put you with a great trainer - you'll love her". Hesitantly, I agreed. I started having sessions with Samra and WOW! She immediately picked up on my strengths and my weaknesses before I said a word. Her intuition and keen attention to detail when working with me is remarkable. A 30 minute session with her produces results that I couldn't obtain in two hours on my own. I always tell her it "hurts so good!" She challenges me beyond what I feel capable of, yet not to the point where I feel deflated - I always leave smiling and feeling like jelly- it is the best feeling! She is my biggest cheerleader while I am straining to get those last 3 reps out - something I didn't even know I needed. I thank her every session and tell her I appreciate her, but she will never truly know how much she has/continues to do for me. At 54 years old, I am gaining confidence I didn't have at 20. The owners and coaches Darrin and Dana are incredible people and the facility is amazing. Friendly and warm members welcomed me at the box and the WODs were challenging and different from some that I've done. Not only do they have all the regular Crossfit toys and gear, but they have an entire obstacle course built in the "backyard" of the box. Wall climbs, monkey bars, atlas stones, traverse wall and lots more. I highly recommend this box if you are looking to drop in or looking to join. I'll be back!

I had done some training in Huntsville at other gyms, but they weren't exactly on par with what I was accustomed to. That's why I've decided to make Arsenal my home gym. They train hard & they actually try to match you up with other students that will challenge you. At Arsenal, they won't try to match you up against a 12 year old like another gym in town did to me while I was there. Prices are on par with other gyms here in town, but they also offer a wide variety of classes. The support here is great & I've always felt right at home. I honestly believe this is the best gym to train at in North Alabama.
