We surprised our twin six-year-olds, who were turning seven with a little destination birthday trip. Had our cousins meet us there for a double surprise. And this might have been our best birthday/family Vacay ever! I mean, Opry the hotel is immaculate and you don't really have to ever leave once you're there. And the soundwaves waterpark is like double icing on top of the most perfect cake. Even when it rains, you can still enjoy the inside waterpark, and because it is private to only hotel guests, it never felt crowded. We never really had to wait in line for a waterslide, the two lazy rivers were never over congested, and the individual surf lessons on the surf machine might've been a family favorite. We just kept trying over and over and over again until we could do the tricks they were teaching us. Bonus: amazing instructors! Already thinking I should book for next year and do the same thing over again, it was that magical!

The park is also not particularly clean. most mats are dirty and moldy, tubes discolored. water is cloudy & the lazy river is a free for all. Not a lot of veggie food options and the options that exist are egregiously priced. One small cocktail was $26 with tax and tip. An uncrustable sandwich was $12. Eat before and grab some food after !
