I ordered the beef lo mein, (they obviously don't know what chow mein is!) but the beef had been treated with an excessive amount of meat tenderizer. Furthermore, the oil used for the noodles had a spicy flavor, indicating it was leftover oil that had previously been used for deep-frying! I suspect the oil was actually expired; shortly after eating, I felt nauseous and ended up vomiting. I hope others won't fall for this trap. read more

Out of all of the Chinese restaurants I've ever been to, this one has the absolute worst BBQ Pork I've ever tasted. Not to mention, who serves BBQ Pork ice cold like that's normal way to serve it? The staff was very nice but all in all a terrible meal. the quality has slid below the buffet down the street. And the portions are smaller and smaller each time. Worst Chinese Ive had in a long time. Messed up order. Went back and got cold out of the fridge sliced pork from at least the day before. $20 and for a few bites just to get thrown in the trash! I had to grab fast food after waiting 1/2 hour for this slop. Reviews have to be fake no way anybody likes this place. Also no way its been open like this for 39 years! We had car trouble and ended up spending the night in Sheridan. We were tired, grumpy and hungry. Our hotel was within walking distance to the Golden China. The service was friendly, our food came quickly and it was flavorful. After a long day, we left with a smile and a happy belly. read more

This is an excellent place for chinese food. The staff is also very friendly. Tonight was the firs time that I came in for dinner. The parking lot seemed full but we, a table of 4, walked in and were seated immediately. A friendly server took our drink order and answered some questions about soup I had. We all ended up getting a soup appetizer which was delicious. I had pork wonton soup. I got a small which was just 1 wonton. I thought it was just enough to get a taste and see what it was like. Surprisingly delicious. Then came my main meal which was General tso chicken. A heaping order with fresh broccoli and a side of white rice. It was all very good. A nice heat on the chicken, temp and taste wise. We also had egg rolls which were awesome! I can tell they are hand made and made very well. I will definitely be back! read more

The food is average. I had sesame chicken and steamed dumplings. Very clean and friendly. I had to wait for them to reopen after lunch at 4:30 pm. Owner showed up at 4:30 but locked the door even though the parking lot had several customers waiting to dine in. They finally opened after a 10 minute wait. I almost drove off. Steamed dumplings were very mushy and the dipping sauce tasted like straight soy sauce with a little chili oil. Very bitter. Sesame chicken was dark brown and over cooked. I asked if it was made with chicken breast and the reply was "yes". It was made with dark meat. I asked another customer waiting to be seated what he usually gets. Clean, very friendly service, the food is ok. I'll have to really be craving Chinese to return. The tea, although really dark, tasted like water, maybe with some soap suds. I got a half charafe of Merlot. It was full to the brim and definitely tasted like it was worth a quarter of the price... Which was only $8.... This place has been around for over 30 years. The food, while what I would classify as very Americanized, is consistent and tasty. I no longer live in Sheridan, but every year when I visit I make sure to visit. This last year I got to go with friends from High School and the memories revisited by the food and the atmosphere reminded me what a special place this is and how happy I am it is still around. read more

We ordered our meal to go. The staff was friendly but I think the food was left over from lunch. It was terrible. The shrimp was microscopic and over cooked. The rice was dry and did not resemble fried rice at all, nor did it taste like fried rice. The egg rolls were soaked in grease and empty. Lunch on a recent Thursday, not crowded. Service, food (potstickers, eggroll, rice, s & s chicken, all the sauces), prices were good. Extremely clean and elegant, but still informal. Hostess should know that her BIG voice totally reververates in the small dining room (I don't think that she appreciated my refusal of a miserable tiny table next to the kitchen door.). We ordered take out tonight and it was not good. The honey sweet chicken that is supposed to be sautéed, was tiny bits of chicken with lots of breading and deep fried. I thought they gave me the wrong item, but I can't for the life of me find what else it could be on the menu. The egg rolls might have been good if there was anything other than just cabbage in them. This is a very good restaurant! We had a very knowledgeable and conscientious waitress named Billie. I am Gluten Free and she knew every dish that I could eat, and there were many choices. I usually have a hard time with Chinese food, as the waitresses usually don't speak English well enough to understand my questions regarding which foods have flour and which have corn starch. The dishes that we ordered were very good. They were not drowning in sauce and weren't overloaded with carrots like some other Chinese I have eaten. I had the Beef Chow Yuk and my Grandmother had the Cashew Shrimp. I will definatly eat here again during my stay! read more

Worst Chinese food ever. I don't know how this place stays in business. They use celery as a massive filler for everything. When they brought us the wrong order of eggrolls, they took them back from us (even though we'd already eaten off the plate), and set them on the table they belonged to! Disgusting! Crap food from the start. I ordered cashew chicken and got celery and 4 dime size pieces of chicken. Everything is minimal in attempt to be real Chinese food. Chow mein was just sprouts. Cheese won tons were burnt and folded by a 3 year old. We are full time Rv'ers and travel all year and this is by far the very very worst food ever. read more

The food is a great value eapecially the lunch combos. The fried rice is my favorite as it is fluffier than most and not weighed down with grease. Having just moved from New York I have eaten value chinese food in abundance in an extremely competitive restaurant environment and this place could compete anywhere. Really clean as well.
