Pretty good donuts, a bit moist & crumbly at least what I got. I will say the younger woman behind the counter has the personality of a wet rag. Prices seemed good, parking lot is a disaster. I had to park more away from the building bcuz their parking area was full. Between all the other businesses that are on the corner right there, I had to keep on my toes w/ my little one & when leaving in my car. Not really a problem & good for them that they were that busy @ 1:00! I'm sure we'll go back but wouldn't make a trip that direction specifically just for them. read more

I recently visited this place. For starters let me say the donuts were amazing!!!! The lady that took our order got our wrong and we didn't realize it until we got home. We asked for a dozen regular glaze donuts and a dozen of the twist. She gave us two dozen of twists. While we were in the drive thru one of the workers was walking around with a fly swatter. She then walked towards the window with the fly swatter and was swinging at the flies. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't appealing at all. I would've felt a little more comfortable if she at least would've waited to swat the flies when no customers was present. Overall, great donuts. Just need help with customer service and overall appearance/cleanliness. read more

Great price and fresh donuts but way too much glaze. Each donut had a ridiculous amount of glaze on them. The apple fritter tasted like a glaze donut with a hint of apple flavor. My nana lived in Phenix City for all of my life. Whenever she would visit us or we would visit her, Golden Donuts was a part of the visit. She passed away last year, so now we make special trips just for the donuts - that's how insanely good they are! No one else ANYWHERE makes a donut even close. My favorite will always be the chocolate glazed because it's a glazed donut WITH chocolate icing which seems to puzzle people where I'm from. You can't go wrong with any item, though. Maybe we have different tastes in good donut but the icing was super duper sweet. The apple fritter and the glazed twist donuts were good minus the drowned amount of icing on it. I was given a free glazed when I walked in and told them it was my first time, excellent marketing on their part. This place was a delightful surprise. We needed coffee and stopped in. Hot doughnuts are available 24 hours. So we were getting a dozen of the hot glazed for $10.35 or close to that. We overheard an employee telling another customer for another $.40 they could get an additional dozen doughnuts, mixed. Just left Golden Donut, 5/19/2020, approximately 1:55pm. I love this place and have been coming here for years. I have always thought that Golden Donuts is far better than Krispy Kreme. Unfortunately today, and the last couple of times I have been to Golden Donuts, I have felt like I am bothering the people they have there to interact with the public. I drove up to the window and she looked like a nice little old lady but she reacted to me as if she would rather be some place else. When I started to give her my order I find out that they are out of everything that I wanted, same as the last couple of times. I said to the lady, isn't where you make these donuts right behind that wall from you, and she said the machine is broke. Well, I hope that Golden Donuts gets their machine fixed soon and maybe the little old lady was just having a bad day but when you are dealing with the public, especially with food, you have to be able to produce what is on your menu and you at least have to make it seem as though you are glad to see people. read more

These donuts are great! I am partial to the uglies and the apple fritters. They have the absolute best apple fritters in the world. I have agent donuts in savannah, Jesup, Atlanta-Georgia; Phoenix, Glendale, Tucson, Arizona; New Orleans, Louisiana, and birmingham, Montgomery, mobile, auburn, Alabama and have never had an apple fritter quite as good. Honestly, these are the BEST donuts! I used to be a fan of the donut chain whose initials are KK, but they started tasting greasy, so I decided to try something new. I wasn't allowed time to look at the menu; and, when I did order, the cashier (Marina) pounded on the counter impatiently as I reached for my money.
