I'm told to wait a few minutes. 10 minutes later, I ask how much longer. 2 more minutes. 5 minutes later, I have to leave because I've still not started my massage and have an appointment to keep in 30 minutes. Beware of the chair massage if you have a bad back. Last week, my husband and I went and got reflexology on our feet then a chair massage. The woman doing my massage seemed nice and was overall good at the foot massage though I would have preferred more reflexology on the toes. Here's the caution. During the chair massage, she went so hard with her elbows. She also forcibly twisted my back both times, without a chance for me to protest. I've NEVER had a chair massage or any massage where my back is twisted!!!! She went at it like she was on a mission to crack ever bone. It was uncomfortable and painful. I have back issues (cancer in my L4) and that have since flared up of pain in my lumbar spine since last Thursdays appointment. A word to ownership, NEVER, NEVER allow your employees to crack someone's back especially without first discussing it. You have no knowledge of prior conditions and it's extremely dangerous if you are not qualified. If I wanted my back cracked I would see my Chiro. Personally, I will not be back due to this. My husband had an older gentleman and he throughly enjoyed both the foot massage and chair massage. His back was not cracked. read more

I've been getting regular massages, spa baths, and other body care treatments in the US and abroad for over three decades. I just got back from Thailand where I had several traditional treatments. I've been scrubbed down and bathed in Morocco. Also, I'm a long time Reiki healer and wellness practitioner. In my personal opinion, my male massage therapist at Golden Fortune crossed the line into inappropriate touch. I was extremely uncomfortable and had to move his hand several times. I left in a hurry and did not say anything to the front desk. I just wanted to get out of there. In all fairness, I will add that I learned about Golden Fortune from trusted friends who've had extremely positive experiences. This was a great place! I needed a leg massage after a long day of walking. Seems like they specialize in foot reflexology which was perfect. We called ahead and had 5 people wanting an hour massage (30 of foot& 30 of back massage) and fortunately they had the space. They brought us in right away in a large room that had 7 comfortable seats, for our foot massage. I requested for an hour of just foot massage and it was heaven! My friends said that their back massage was amazing as well. They had all of them sit in one of those chairs with the face hole, when it was time. I think they have full body massages but we didn't ask for it so I didn't see that room. It was $60 for the hour session. Beware, when they bring the hot water to soak your foot, it might be hot. I've been seeing David for over 10 years after trying many massage therapists in Austin and he's one of the best at deep tissue for the many knots in my neck and shoulders which are constantly sore from always checking blind spots as a UPS driver. I love that I don't have to worry about cancelling or costly memberships with other places if something comes up and he's always available every weekend! They sanitize the chairs after every customer and the place is quiet to relax. I'm always offered some candy and a water bottle afterwards. This guy, Tom, knew exactly what he was doing. All the knots my back and shoulder has been building up, disappeared! Must needed after a couple days of drinking, eating and walking around the Austin heat! For $60, you can get a 60 minute, full body massage. This is what I consider to be a deep tissue massage. She got out a bunch of knots in my shoulder. This is a no frills massage session designed to relax and get out some knots. Dropped in today because I was visiting Trader Joe's and they were able to fit me in unscheduled! My therapist name was Kim and he was amazing! I am not a fan of the feather touch message (Swedish) I prefer to hurt the next day and Kim just may be my go-to guy for now on. He really worked on those kinks and neck area, much more so than most therapists I have seen. So far a huge fan! My only small non-complaining suggestion to the business is maybe to quieten down the very loud door bell ringer, lower the lights a bit and have the therapists minimize their conversations between the chairs. I've been a fan of this location, where I received several chair massages in the last few months. This past week a male worked with me. On top of being a bit too rough (even when asked to be more gentle), he spent more time than necessary on massaging hips/buttocks. At the end of the massage of my hips he thrust his body onto mine in such a way that I felt his penis between my glutes. Surely this isn't the norm. The language barrier and embarrassment made it so that I avoided eye contact, quickly paid, and left. I do not plan on reporting to state regulators. While we did not specify a particular area for them to focus on (liver, kidney, sinus, etc.) they left no part of the foot untouched. You must ask for Alex whose technique and ability to really get the knots out extraordinary. The ancient art of Chinese Zhi ya - pushing and pressing, kneading muscles and pressure points is what he employes. It hurts if you are not used to it however the results are brilliant. I had foot reflexology and the following day a full body massage and I feel renewed. My sense of smell was almost totally wiped out due to allergies and Zyrtec. My second visit, not so much...the gentleman who did my 40 min. foot joy jumped up and went out to the lobby every time the door dinged, probably 10 times during my treatment. He was also speaking on his cell phone during my treatment. Not at all relaxing for me, and I did have an appointment. I waited a few months to give them another try. This time, I requested the 40 min. foot joy, on a weekday without an appointment. It was not at all busy. I told that man I wanted someone else, and had a woman who understood zero english. She used so much pressure on one of my feet that I jumped and said "that hurts!". She also spent about 33 minutes with me.......not the 40 I was charged for. I left her a very small tip, and she was visibly unhappy. I said "I didn't get my full 40 minutes" but I don't think she understood what I said.
