It looks as though she didn't think the money $75 groupon for 1 hour was enough for her efforts? I felt so stupid. It seemed to me by the way she treated me that she was immature and unreliable... and since she said she didn't care if I gave her a bad review. Here it is...Then she went to her facebook account to bad mouth me and call me names and tell her friends a different story.... here is what she posted: "...Then told me I'm unprofessional and to expect a negative review. OK but she's gonna be in for a surprise when she realizes Groupon won't let you leave a review until the voucher is redeemed. Also lol fuck off" A lot of integrity huh, Gillian?. And then Gillian posted this: "She left me a review on thumbtack..... Which i don't even use. Plus I can post a response to her review, which I did. Lol. Bitch". I have print screen of everything Gillian -- you can delete it now, but I have the history. This is Rochester -- a small city being professional is very important. It seems very naive of you to go to you friends and potential clients on Facebook to badmouth a customer... and I don't care. But your reputation should. Jess explained the process and pricing, and promptly sent forms and contracts that corresponded with our conversations to outline and finalize details. She spent a great deal of time discussing with me what were my needs and exploring possibilities for the overall look and feel of the photo I desired. The shoot itself was SO fun. Jess knows how to put you at ease and also gives direction and has an eye for detail. She'd move a hair that was out of place or tell me to lean forward or shift my weight if a pose I was going for didn't look quite right, etc. She also had a lovely assistant whose kind and easy-going demeanor was a bonus. Jess made this feel like a boutique experience: like I would imagine if going to a "big city" and working with the best in their field. If a photographer can have bedside manner- Jess is a 10! She is obviously technically skilled as well, so to have the full package was a find. She would offer her perspective but would also listen to my feedback and wants without condescension. The final product came out beautiful, and what struck me most about the whole experience was the time Jess spent with me to make sure she understood my needs and could provide photos that would be "on brand" and visually communicate the message I wanted to send to prospective clients. The idea of this post is to inform people of the great experience we had and that people should definitely consider using her for all sorts of photos. She has been in business for 10 years and has a wealth of experience. Two days before we arrived she sent us info about everything we would need to know so we would be prepared and ready for a successful photo session. I thought that was a nice touch. It was amazing to watch her work and we had no issues allowing her to handle Our newborn so she could get the best images possible. She made sure she told us everything she was doing, washed her hands more than necessary and, also asked us if we were ok with her doing whatever we she was going to do before she did it. At times our baby was rather uncooperative in that he didn't want to sleep and not a single time did she lose her patience. She really wanted him to go to sleep but he put up a heck of a fight. She hung in there for as long as necessary comforting him to get him to fall asleep. She knew the right times for diaper changes, feedings and could read him so she could work on appropriate photos/poses when the time was right for him. Her meticulous attention to detail and lighting was quite impressive. Listen, I went to college for art and she was showing me what a great photo was and what didn't work. Honestly, I didn't really see a difference. She paid attention to the position of his little fingers and so many other aspects I never would have considered in order to get the best photo for each "pose". My wife and I could not have been happier with the experience and we highly recommend people consider her. I personally think she gives far more than should be expected for the price when compared to other photographers. We will be going back to her for 6 month and 1 year photos as well. We just had a newborn photoshoot with our daughter (8 days old) at Kelly Elizabeth Studio. My wife…read moreand I walked away super impressed with her skill and creativity. Her shots and selection of baby poses captured our daughter perfectly. While we haven't seen the actual digital prints yet, watching her work in-person was almost magical. She was able soothe our baby when needed and at the same, able to put our little one in all sorts of cute baby poses. She made it seem effortless. The whole process was relaxed and when my wife had to change & nurse the baby in between shots, she gave us all the time we needed.
