I'm just cleaning up some typos from my May 2025 review but here it is: I understand it's a thrift shop and not a donation center like Salvation Army or Goodwill, but I left this place seriously unhappy. I had called in advance specifically to ask about the item I wanted to donate. A very nice woman assisted me and even checked with her supervisor to be sure they would accept my item. So I load up the car take it there and get harshly rejected by the two jerks working the donation input. Obviously I don't know that they are really jerks, but I can say I was very unhappy with the way they treated me. For starters, had I not schlepped my stuff out of the car and leaned it against the wall of the building, I don't know if they would've gotten off their asses hasn't even helped me. The woman in front of me who had just finished unloading, was assisted a lot. But not me. And then when they got a look at the items, they said no we can't take these. It's gonna be a hard sell so I said well that's specifically why I called in advance to make sure you would accept them and the woman I spoke with said she checked with the supervisor who said these would be fine. They said well maybe they were confused about what you were asking. I said I assure you they were not confused but fine. I'll take my stuff and go elsewhere. Despite my struggling to get the items back in the car, of course they didn't lift a finger to try to help me get them back in anymore than they wanted me to help me get them out of the car. So I took my items to Goodwill where I was assisted cheerfully and five minutes later I was on my way. Please don't patronize this business . read more

My first visit recently after moving to the area. Great volunteers who are happy to help. Selection is like a huge estate sale and so much to look thru. Stuff changes all the time (I have heard). I have used their donation drop off (drive thru in the back) and the gentlemen have been quick to help me unload. Be mindful they don't take janky stuff more worthy of the dump. Keep it real folks. We really enjoyed our thrifting experience at the Golden Goose. What really surprised me is the size of this building including the huge parking lot. And the parking lot was so busy, what a crazy surprise. When we entered the building a senior volunteer handed us a small paper that listed the discounted items today. The list was at least 10 items. They had an impressive inventory at 11am. You could tell some items had been purchased but they have a lot to look at. It was organized well and many volunteers scattered around to help at any time. My daughter found a few pretty framed pictures and an artificial plant to place in her new office. The framed pictures were 75% off this tagged price! Perfect for a young person needed a few things to dress up her simple office with no windows. Definitely worth the drive to Catalina Arizona. read more

(Tried to put 0 stars but they wouldn't let me) Do not go here. Racist behavior from volunteers and leadership. My partner, who is Black, accidentally left her phone here. We immediately called and spoke with a very helpful woman named Gail, who told us the phone had been found and instructed my partner to come to the front to retrieve it. When my partner arrived alone, the volunteers claimed they did not have the phone and were incredibly rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. When I entered shortly after (I am white) and asked the same question, the volunteers suddenly had no issue listening, checking, and locating the phone. We were then told to follow a man named Ken--who is on the board--to retrieve it from the back. As we followed, he turned to my partner and said, "Why are you following us?" despite us being explicitly instructed to do so. The tone and treatment were hostile and inappropriate. The difference in how my partner was treated compared to how I was treated was unmistakable. I will not support a facility where volunteers and board members speak to and treat people this way. This review is as a donor, not a thrifter--what a mistake it was to go here. We have been sorting, culling, organizing and donating the many collections of my late mother-in-law since she passed in March, 2024. She was a collector of fine items (ceramics, figurines, clothing, bric-a-brac....lots of stuff. We set aside the high quality items for donation at the Golden Goose rather than send them to another local thrift organization in E Tucson. We rented a truck and drove 1 hour to go to the GG this past Thursday because my mother-in-law would have wanted her finer items to land in the hands of those who would truly appreciate them. That is why we took the time and expense of bringing ~20 boxes of items to the Golden Goose. Boy was that a mistake! From the moment we arrived at the donation drop off, we were treated with suspicion, rudeness, and condescension. The workers immediately suggested that "maybe we should just go to Goodwill because they will take all this stuff". That snotty comment was before they even bothered to look at what I was bringing them. I informed the workers that I drove past "15 Goodwill drop offs" and I came all the way up to Golden Goose for a reason. In the end, they went through the boxes in a cursory manner, taking only about 2/3rds of what we had transported. Their attitude: we are doing YOU the donor a favor by taking your items. NO THANK YOU, Golden Goose. Never again....and the same goes for the many folks in Tucson who I'm telling about this experience. read more

Love the Goose! You never know what treasure awaits at the Golden Goose! From household items, furniture and furnishings, small kitchen appliances, sporting goods, apparel, gift wrap and cards- whew! What a wonderful selection of goodies. The volunteer staff are kind and helpful. The prices can't be beat. Although we no longer live in Tucson, we make trips several times a year to visit friends and we always make time to shop at the Goose. Meet you there! read more

A lot of junk and not much else. Seemed like the best section was the housewares. Clothing was not good. Shoes not good. Very little selection. I went in for puzzles and they only had a very few, very old ones. The price was ridiculous for them. Not going back unless I need dishes. read more

They offer 20% off coupons online ONLY to people who have either a smart phone, or a home computer AND a printer. I have neither a smart phone nor a printer, so it is impossible for me to obtain a 20% off coupon. Golden Goose only extremely rarely makes coupons available in local print publications, because they don't want to pay for the advertising. So I feel, as part of a generally ignored or totally forgotten class of low-income people, especially seniors, who have minimal or no access to electronic technology ~~ discriminated against. I think this is quite unfair. It's people such as me....leaving my negative review here not primarily for my own personal benefit...who most need to save money and NEED to be able to use 20% off coupons especially for larger purchases that would otherwise be completely inaccessible to us. This shop clearly doesn't cater to low-income people like myself. This is obvious simply from seeing all the newer model SUVs and autos in their parking lot. The management needs to find a way to make these 20% coupons easily available to EVERYONE, not just for those who have more financial resources/electronic technology, many of whom don't even NEED the 20% discount. (I notice that my account says I live in San Francisco, CA. I do Not, and I don't know why it says that. I live in a mobile home in a rural area of Pinal County about 20 minutes from the Golden Goose.) read more

Golden Goose Estate Sale Nov 8th Friday 2024 I had a daily sale item light fixture next to me on the couch on the front patio. This item had a regular tag and was on the patio for anyone to purchase. I was looking at my acct to see balance on my phone when one of the workers came up and told me he had to move the light to inside. I told him I was looking to purchase it. He took the light and told me to follow him where he took it to the female Manager. I told her I was looking to purchase it and she looked at me and ripped the regular tag off it which would have been on sale as the daily patio worker told me and replaced it with an Estate Sale tag voiding it being on the daily sale. This was very rude and very poor customer service. read more

I am always impressed by this thrift store. It is a large thrift store but unlike some it is very well organized. You will know exactly where each department is with their clear, large, overhead signage. They also have 4 fitting rooms which are clean and well lit just to the right of the women's clothing and easy to find! I will say the price tags tend to be higher than you'd expect but most of the time there is a deal running that will bring that price down. I got a sequined dress for $15 and two Ugly Christmas sweaters for only $2.50 each. They make sure to only put out quality goods too so you won't see stained, ripped, or otherwise subpar thrift here! TLDR: It's a drive but totally worth it. Much better quality than a Goodwill! read more

I went there to donate some items that I thought were worthy for resale and an Asian worker at back door said I had junk and he didn't want it. He was very rude. I mentioned it to another worker I thought was in charge an the Asian guy came around to my drivers door like he wanted to fight me. I have been shopping and donating to the Goose for the last 12 years and never been treated that way in the past. Something there has changed. It is overpriced except for clothes. Most people who shop at thrift shops shop for clothes, so there is a certain amount of appeal for this store. But everything else is about 10% to 20% overpriced. read more

Fun place to browse. You see lots of stuff you have no idea how to use or even what it is. Lots of interesting things.

I was told this was a high end thrift shop. In my opinion it was not. Items were priced ridiculously high. The store was huge and had a lot of different sections to it. I browsed through what was supposed to be brand name clothing. I wasn't able to see any high end brands. Most of the clothes were worn, pilly and out of date. Not vintage. Other areas of the store were nicely organized. I wasn't able to find anything high end, high quality like the store advertises online. Looks like a lot of seniors work or volunteer there. The ones I encountered were very nice. I read that the proceeds go to charity. Probably good to hit this place on 50% off sales. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it. read more

A large thrift store with lots of variety and selection. And to top it off the money you spend on your purchase goes to charity. And the staff are volunteers donating their time. Some items to see here: antique dish sets, seasonal decorations Christmas - Easter - St. Patrick's Day, pet supplies (there was a extra large wire cage - a really nice one), purses, jewelry, shoes, primarily women's clothing, books, lots of furniture, outdoor items like patio tables, toys, books, electronics, and much more. The prices are not super cheap but today there was a sale. Perhaps they do sales regularly and a person could gain discounts that way! The treasures I found today: a nice set of white marble bookends for $10.00, a black braided purse for $4.00 (on sale), a great condition electric heat dish for $15.00 (on sale), men's ties $2.00 each (on sale)! Amazing service! A lot of seniors work there and all of them were super kind! The shop is pretty big, but around half of it was just furniture, so if you're looking for a place to find great quality furniture I'd suggest coming here. There was a small selection of clothes that was a bit pricey. I went on a day that had a sale so id suggest going then. They had a lot of cool antique decor. read more

Please do not donate your items to Golden Goose. I know they are convenient but they are not nice, giving people who will help people suffering and in need. They are greedy. I could tell some horror stories about how their volunteers/employees take good things... just not the stuff you want to hear about when donating to what you think is a reputable organization. Please find a better charitable organization. I give to Big Brothers/Big Sisters mainly and a few other places that actually help and care about people in our communities. read more

I just got done getting my truck serviced at the Oracle Ford, and thought about stopping by this place that my wife brags about. I needed to find an outdoor trash bin and dog pen. Ladies who work there are so friendly, and my wife is right - they've got so much GOOD stuff in that store. I was lucky they were having their annual SALE that day (around March i think). everything is 20% off and clothes were 50%off. Watta deal!!!i would come here a lot if it wasn't more than ten miles from my house. read more

I live in the Tucson Estates area - far away but this was worth the drive. Chocked full of merchandise and seniors like me so if you are looking for trendy clothes you won't find them here. And they are over-priced but the shopping experience here is so fun and the profits are distributed to charities so you can't feel bad about it. Next time I plan to take my daughter for a girls day out and stop in Oracle for lunch. So many volunteer working in the store for good cases. It warms your heart. read more

Service at there drop off is horrendous. He started telling me they couldn't accept certain items. There was a cart heading towards my car. I checked there was a dent. They close at 2 for seemingly no reason when most people get their shopping done after they're off work or better yet after 2pm. They even have these restricted hours on weekends! So frustrating!! I've only ever been able to carve out time in my work schedule to come here ONCE because they do NOT have flexible operating hours, and when I did go it was so packed I couldn't even comfortably shop. Seems like they only seem to cater towards old people who wake up at 8am to do their shopping. Don't really recommend this place. Go to goodwill instead so you might actually have time to look around without it being a crowded freak show of old people inside. read more
