Very solid course overall. The prices are very fair and the pace of play is pretty quick

I had my baby shower here for 42 guests. The staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful. Macy was a lot of help and very organized. Everyone loved the food. We chose the Swedish meatballs and Chicken Marsala. I highly recommend this venue for any gatherings including weddings. The main ballroom upstairs (we did not use this space as we had a small guest amount) is beautiful. I love that they already have the chiavari chairs and the linens are very nice. read more

I love this course and play in a league there. Nothing fancy. The woods, water and traps provide a nice challenge. Entire staff is very friendly and they serve great dinners during the prime time of the season. read more

This course was in absolute terrible shape. Slow play from the three-some in front of us. Between the flag in the middle of the fairway (make shift green), the grass growing in the bunkers, the dirt patches on the greens, and the flooded cart paths, this course was everything you wouldn't want to play on. Photos were deceptive and the greens fees were way overpriced for this course. Worth maybe $15 for 18 holes. Solid beer prices though read more

had a great time here golfing. this place is a perfect course to go have a fantastic time golfing and talking too your friends. the food here is also amazing, Tommy makes delicious food. the driving range is also a huge hit this season which makes it a good idea to come early to hit a few before your tee time. overall I am very pleased with golden hawk this season. read more

Don't waste your money on the Mother's Day buffet. The room was decorated nicely but the food was Gordon Food Service quality. A cheap pasta bar? Pre-frozen deserts? C'mon people. The service was clueless too. It seemed like management rounded up anyone with a heartbeat to work. Clearly they can't find decent help. We've been to three Mother's Day Banquets here and it get's worse every year. No more. You've been warned. read more

Can definitely see the work being put into the course. Compared to last year and even the start of this year, you can definitely see the improvement. Last year was a lot of brown spots and dead greens. Now they have definition in fairways, stripes and greens that are rolling much more consistently. The previous pictures on here of the dead spots are definitely not up to date or accurate anymore. Look forward to coming back for next visit. read more

Haven't played this course in a few year and found it's been sold a few years back. It looks like the Vargo Golf company that operates Bruce Hills and the Myth golf course is now running this course. This course use to be in great shape but not today. It started with the golf carts not cleaned from the previous round. The driving range sand trap was rock hard and the practice green completely burnt out and looked like it was not taken care of all year. The course was not in any better shape than the practice area, 1/2 of the bunker were unplayable without new sand being added or water filled bunkers. The greens on several hole (especially 2 and 17) were burnt out with the course trying to air rate these greens in the first part of August. Several fairways had no grass with burned out conditions and other fairways had flooded conditions from over watering. Save your money and don't play Golden Hawk. read more

The track at this place is decent at best. You arrive and have to wait 45-1 hr to get a cart for your round... they ran out? It wasn't even busy, this place is going down hill. Fast few years ago was in tip top shape range told a group to go infront of us as we waited making the entire round take even longer. If you want 8 hour 18 this is your place. I attended a wedding last night with my boyfriend at this golf club. The food was decent, the bar tenders were very nice and the views were beautiful. I really enjoyed the upstairs patio that was attached to the wedding room. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. The lights were beautiful. The chandeliers added a classy touch to the occasion. The staircase leading down from the upstairs made the walk down the isle very elegant and princess like. The ONLY complaint I had was the blonde lady in charge of the wedding planning. She was severely rude when my boyfriend expressed a small detail of concern. She said "I run the show around here." The bride was beautiful and the venue selection far out weighed the sass and unprofessionalism from the wedding planner. read more

Was actually a very nice course. Had fun golfing. We did have an issue with payment. We had a group of five. One arrived early and paid for himself then we paid for the whole group. So we asked for a refund for the one golfer. We were told it could only be done by a manager who wouldn't be in until two days later. Finally got ahold of her and she was quite rude. Only option she offered was leaving cash to pick up. We live nowhere near there! Can't understand why she couldn't just run a credit on our CC. O well. Update:my husband drove out to pick up refund and the manager, Monique, was not a nice person. First she told him someone already picked it up. Ah no! Sad to say we won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

We hosted a baby shower at Gold Hawk today. The staff was very accommodating. We had the breakfast buffet which was good, we especially liked the waffles. The upstairs room was very pretty and set up just the way we wanted when we arrived. We were able to borrow some of their decor that blended with what we supplied, the result was beautiful We had hoped for a view of the fall colors, but were delighted with the mix of fall colors and blanket of snow. read more

This is a review for "Ed's Eatery"... the restaurant at the Golden Hawk Golf Club. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year 'round. The menu consists of the typical breakfast items, sandwiches and burgers, chicken, steak, some seafood choices, and pizza. I would've liked to have seen a few more "pasta" choices on the menu (they do offer a spaghetti dinner, but that was about it for the pasta). The one "chicken" dinner offered (other than the fried chicken) was a "Smothered" chicken... a couple of chicken breasts covered with onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. Do you really want to call one of your dinner entrees "Smothered"? That just seems like a weird word to use. Kind of sounds like they killed the poor chicken by smothering it with a soft pillow (poor little guy got taken out by a mob hit). Actually, the food was decent (if not particularly special). I'd go back... especially if I had another "Restaurant.Com" certificate. If you're not familiar with Restaurant.Com, you should check it out sometime. When you go to their website, you can search for various participating restaurants by typing in your zipcode (or any area zipcode that you want). Then, when you've found a restaurant that you might like to try, you purchase a certificate (10, 25, 50 or 100 buck certificate), for a discounted price. The "normal" price on the website is a 25 dollar certificate for 10 bucks... BUT, if you sign up to get their e-mails, they'll send you offers for 80% off THAT PRICE, so you can usually get 25 dollar certificates for only TWO BUCKS!! Now, that's worth looking into, isn't it? Just remember to read all the "fine print" before buying... you can only use one certificate at a time, and you also have to spend a certain amount of money (depending on the restaurant) as well. The "Golden Hawk" seemed like a nice-enough place to go. They even had a very nice room upstairs that looked like it was specifically designed for Wedding Receptions. If only this place had a miniature golf course and a game-room... it could be a "family" entertainment center/golf complex all-in-one (I know... I'm just dreaming here). Just a thought... read more

review for the banquet hall: Very helpful, friendly staff. Service and food were very good. Beautiful outdoor space for guests.My only complaint is with the very outdated decor. Wallpaper,heavy swag drapes and silk flower sprays look like they are straight out of Grandma's house in the '90's. A more neutral, updated decor would probably result in more business. read more

I am extremely dissapointed, I had my heart set on doing my wedding rception there I was spending 7900 dollars but when it came to negotiating price with the event coordinator there was a no go, she would ignore my calls for weeks and when she finally would call me back she was so rude to me, they lost out on a ton of money and obviously need to have someone else in charge of the event planning. Its a beautiful place but its not worth being treated the way I was. I was even willing to do a friday wedding but she wasn't even negotiating on that. When I was asked how they could make it more affordable I was told to cut my guest list...excuse me I cut my guest list a ton, its not my fault you charge 600 for chair covers that should be included anyways, and then 1000 in gratuity. Be realistic times are tough, and you lost out on a great client by treating me like an idiot. Thanks alot read more

Had a wedding there in Oc tober. Venue is very nice but was disappointed in the food. Their idea of cheese and crackers is craft cheese slices. the salad was bagged iceberg lettuce with mozzerella cheese and a few tomatoes. Tthe green beans were straight out of a can with nothing on them, and the beef was dry and they ran out. The biggest thing that you want to offer your guests at a wedding is great food! I would give them a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-10. read more

Recently had tee times at Golden Hawk and pro shop attendant had hard time locating them. Course play was extremely slow, condition of course not great. Lots of divots in fairways not addressed or repaired. Tee boxes in poor shape and poorly placed. Looks like removed stakes showing tee box for mowing and just haphazardly put them back (no rhyme or reason to them). Signs displaying hole on ground; would be nice as they are carved into granite/marble, but just laying on ground throughout entire course. WOW!!! Saturday afternoon and only item you can get at turn is a hot dog!!! What happens if someone can't eat HOT DOGS??? Price was ok, but will not consider this course in future!!!! I have played many local courses and a lot all over Michigan and have had much better experiences!!! read more

Not Impressed with this course, natural obstacles are one thing. High Voltage power lines over 4 fairways, come on! The greens were not tended, having pine cones on the fairway is natural, NOT ON THE GREENS! For a 104 dollar round, you would think they could afford a 40 hour week employee to tend to this. The course was also infested with bees and flies. AND.... their ranger Ray was incredibly rude to us. My wife is a new golfer, and we were about 15-20 minutes over our estimated play time that they have established of 2:15 for a foursome on 9 holes. We were asked to allow a couple to play through and happily obliged. Then Ray came back and gave us a 15 minute lecture on golf etiquette and warned us not to be doing lessons. We weren t. In fact, my wife was quite enjoying her day out until this rude ranger decided to berate her in front of everyone. When we approached him and the pro-shop manager, he was sarcastic and nasty. No offering was made of a refund or any type of action from the course, merely a nasty and snide apology from the ranger. We will never be back. read more
