I did their LVN program. I really enjoyed it! They offer part time and full time programs. I was…read moreable to work while completing the program and they offer a work-study option. Compared to Gurnicke and Unitek, they are thousands cheaper and get you to the same place. Despite the program being held during covid when many places were not accepting students, we were able to get clinical and preceptorship placements. I learned a lot from the awesome instructors and most importantly, the program director Ms. Stacey. She is amazing! She is very responsive, open, and communicative. She truly cares for every student. Ultimately, no matter what nursing program you choose, it will come down to you. I still had to use outside resources at times to supplement my learning. I think this is common in any program and does not reflect poorly on the school. Your instructors will vary in how they teach or "nurse", but overall I had a fair experience. You may qualify to retake certain exams, retake terms, or reach out to Ms. Stacey if there was issues and she would commit to finding a fair, working solution. I learned a lot and am happy to be a LVN. It was well-worth the ~15 months of sacrifice as I learned so much and developed great mentors and relationships. If you're scanning this page thinking about becoming a LVN... I say go for it with Quest!

Hi everyone, please avoid this place at all costs. It's a run down place that's for sure just a…read moremoney grab. Besides the place being very dirty, it is cramped as well. Their grading system is extremely difficult, they are not forgiving at all. I know we have to be professional in this field and having a rigorous test is part of the experience, but the TO's who facilitated my test failed to acknowledge that I actually did do 2 steps. I was failed twice and then I immediately passed somewhere else. You're required to get every step correct, you can't miss a single step. They don't offer videos or refresher courses and we all know that the cna skills exam is very different from real life and the steps and requirements change often. My 2nd try, I got 100%, 98% and 95%, missing 1 step out the last 2, which I actually did perform and they still failed me. There is a REASON THIS PLACE is not accredited. I believe they are preying on immigrants or people in poverty, failing them for steps that are extremely hard to prove that we actually did, to obtain more money, knowing that these groups of people are desperate for work. Each skills exam is about $130. Many students in or around Oakland have complained about this same occurrence at this facility. Please, be aware! I had the same skill 2 times and each time they instructed me to perform it differently. One time, they instructed me to only use the sink in the main room (which is as tiny as a closet) and the 2nd time they instructed me to use the bathroom down the hall, for the same skill, within 1 week of each other. So the consistency is off too. The facilitator, Praise is rude and the other facilitator was on her phone, not even paying attention. No professionalism even though they require you to be professional. THE SCAM; If you don't show up 20 minutes early, they make you reschedule and pay again. They put it in really fine print as well. I saw someone show up, and I am not kidding, 18 minutes early. She actually might have been on time, but the woman who checks the ID's didn't come check hers until 18 minutes, and told her she had to reschedule and pay again even though the place was empty and it was just her and I in the building. They are strict with some things but because their facility is just not equipped for testing and their small room is as big as a closet, instead of a chair, they only have the wheelchair available. So when feeding a resident, you have to sit on the wheelchair, although I'm sure they would flunk you for that too. Some businesses do open with malicious intent and CNA testing sites can be an overlooked way for the business's to make money, especially when they flunk people. If you can - try testing through Credentia! And do not go there! Good luck everyone :)

I would've done 1 star but I don't want to be too rude. My experience at VNS was…read morevery...interesting. Miss Josie thinks highly of herself, which is fine but she doesn't need to remind everyone that she is #1 every single day. She has no problem calling someone stupid or how she likes to say "no coconut meat" or "mulala". She had no shame on calling one of the other students "Mulala" and had no shame on doubting one of the students. She continually would say "I think ____ quit" or "I think ____ isn't going to make it as a CNA" as a teacher it is not your job to doubt a student but to encourage them. Also she can't hear a majority of the time which was quite annoying and $1600+ for the program is too much in my opinion, I did the M-F AM class, it was TORTURE. Be prepared to sit in a small room listening to Miss Josie talk on and on and on, about things that shouldn't even be mentioned in a class, AND about very personal things. The scrubs and handbook and fingerprints not being part of the $1600 price is ridiculous. $1600 is already so much and she's too cheap to include the other important necessities!? We also didn't get a graduation, which is ridiculous, just because we were are small class doesn't make us any less deserving of a graduation, she told us we'd take the final exam and have a graduation just for her to offer us a graduation the next day (after the final exam) which is crazy, we don't have free time we have jobs and school and things we need to do, it could've been planned better. Clinicals was actually pretty great, it was refreshing to not be in a lecture for 8 hours a day. I would think twice before choosing this school, I only chose it because it was closest to me, but I'd definitely choose another school if I could start over. Please choose a school that will pay for you state exams, scrubs, handbook, etc. also it's a bit weird how this school is "SO Great" and "Ms Josie is #1" when there's only 11 google reviews and only 6 yelp reviews when this school has been open since the 90's...makes you really wonder.....let's see how long this post lasts. Good luck to everyone attempting.

The other schools rushed their students too much and didn't guide them that well with the process of getting licensed. Vallejo Nursing School is the complete opposite. Josie is very knowledgeable and will teach you all the things you need to know to be licensed and if you are struggling, she's very patient and passionate in helping you. She provides nourishments to keep our brain active because of the long hours and keeps us entertained along the way during clinicals. She makes all of us feel like a family and all of us were very comfortable with each other considering the amount of days of only getting to know each other. It's as if the place is a safe place to be. And I was there during the peak of the pandemic. Now comes for the hard part, review week and the state exam. I have test anxiety and this was my first actual "state" exam so I was so nervous and was counting down the days to get it over with. Josie along with her staff are great support system and will NEVER make you feel alone. I sometimes get off track and lost but they're so patient and will guide you UNTIL YOU GET THAT LICENSE. THEY CARE SO MUCH. If you're considering becoming a CNA and is looking for a good school, this is it!

Ms. Didi was the instructor for this program and she truly cares about her students. The program was 21 days and may seem long initially, but it flies by quickly. I met some wonderful classmates along the way and had an overall fantastic experience! Ms. Didi, Mr. Dell, and Dr. Marilyn are knowledgeable, passionate, and truly dedicated to student success. The program offers a great mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, with small class sizes that allow for personalized instruction. The clinical rotations provided invaluable real-world experience, and the staff was supportive every step of the way. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about becoming a CNA or looking to gain experience prior to nursing/medical school. It's a rewarding experience that prepares you for the healthcare field. Thank you again, Ms. Didi for a wonderful learning experience!

She genuinely wanted every student to succeed. Each lecture, she shared insight from her professional experience, gave plenty of examples of how different scenarios would look in practice, and always welcomed discussions when something wasn't clear. During clinicals, she provided so much guidance and support, followed by thoughtful debriefs at the end of each day. She took the time to connect what we learned in theory to the real patients we worked with, which made everything make so much more sense. Miss Didi prepared me incredibly well for the state exam. I felt confident enough to take the written exam the day after graduating and the skills exam three days later, passing both with flying colors. Additionally, Mr. Dell and Dr. Marilyn were extremely supportive and checked in often to make sure we had what we needed throughout the program. I wanted to add that while MCC does not guarantee placement to a facility with their program, it is important to note that there are A LOT of opportunities for networking that Miss Didi and MCC offers. For my class, Miss Didi had several administrators and DSD's speak with us about their facilities, offering insight, applications, and contact information should you decide to apply. I just interviewed for my top choice facility and have been offered employment contingent on passed reference checks, background check and fingerprinting. I graduated from my program 8 days ago. You get what you put into the program, and being open to communication and learning will lead you to the start of a rewarding career. Overall, MCC made the whole experience feel worth it, and I feel truly set up for success moving forward.

Hello, Thank you…read morefor taking the time to read my email, I began the process of bettering my life and my career in August of 2022 when I reached out to Unitek to begin evening LVN classes. I spoke with Jeremiah and many other staff members during my interview process, and was asked extremely personal questions regarding my circumstances to ensure I was the student Unitek desired - little did I know, my disclosures on scheduling preferences and my single parenthood would be used to ensure you all took advantage of me and got money out of my pocket ensuring you would have not keep up your end of the student contract. I was clear from the beginning of my initiation, I work full time and have a daughter - every one I talked to ensured I would get into a night class within a year and that I needed to enroll in the prerequisite class immediately to not lose my spot. In doing this, and trusting you all I emptied my savings account with the hope of a bright future for my daughter and myself. I finished the prerequisite class at the TOP of the class - excited for the next steps, I called/texted Jeremiah. He called me a few days after completion of the prerequisite course welcoming me into the LVN next class, which was a full time day class - I was confused. I was so clear on my availability , and was PROMISED I would have access to a class in the evening within the year of the prereq course. During this phone conversation, Jeremiah stated there would be a class in December. December came and went, and I followed up - I was told there was a postponed class for June. Here we are. You promise classes, take people's hard earned money banking that they never get to the next step, without any care in the world. I am requesting a full refund as YOU are unable to keep your end of the contract. Please contact me with any questions. Regards,
