Bay Area CNA School.... to say the least..... has been life changing for me... I was originally slated to begin a 1 Year $40k Sacramento Area LVN Program, but decided on a CNA Program after my friend's wife successfully graduated. The school is overall very affordable and they accept installment plans as well. No need to take out loans I'll regret later. The Program Director Ashish.. is very flexible. On one occasion I got sick for a few days and on another I had to fly out of state for a funeral and he made arrangements for me to make up my clinicals at other hospitals during the week. My instructor; Ms. Beth, was like a friend, sister, and Mother to me and very patient. I would text her in the evenings with school book questions and she'd promptly respond that evening versus waiting till the next school day. I have ADHD and a lot of my questions may come off as dumb or redundant, but she never made me feel any less. This is a career change for me and the best part was... before school even ended, she told me the hospital we were doing our clinical rotations at would hire me.... and that's exactly what happened. They offered me a job before I even graduated! I'll be also taking my AED, BLS, & CPR Certifications there as well. You can't go wrong here! Thank you! read more

This program was the best experience I could've had training to be a CNA! My instructor Mary was diligent and thoughtful. You can tell that Mary and the other staff genuinely care for our success as their students! We did our clinical at Pleasanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the staff/patients were amazing! Overall, Bay Area CNA was a fast and efficient program (only 4 weeks) and the instructors were extremely kind. Our clinical site was also a great experience. The facility was nice and I truly enjoyed working with the residents. One area that could be improved is the lecture materials. All the slides appeared to use AI generated pictures that were quite inaccurate. In healthcare education (especially when learning anatomy) I feel that it's important to have visuals that are accurate. I believe that switching those images would make the program much better. Overall though, I had a positive experience and would recommend the program but improving the accuracy of lecture visuals would make it better! read more

TL;DR: I have nothing bad to say about Bay Area CNA School. It's exactly what a good trade school should be: Brief, inexpensive, and effective at teaching a marketable skill. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I attended Bay Area CNA School's daytime class 8/28/2025 through 9/24/2025, passed the written exam on 9/30, and passed the skills exam on 10/6. So in just a month-and-a-half, I went from First Day of School to Certified Nursing Assistant. The classroom coursework is focused entirely on the relevant skills and knowledge of the CNA field. No extraneous or irrelevant courses. The 12 days spent in clinicals at an actual Assisted Living Center give excellent hands-on experience at doing the actual job of CNAing, so the student can learn the nuances of the trade that simply cannot be taught in a classroom setting. Instructor Mary was flat-out superb! In the classroom, her lectures were always focused and easily understandable, and she led us through repeated skills practices so the skills could gel in our minds. In clinics, Mary was an encouraging presence who knew how to give students believable reassurance after the occasional-but-inevitable rookie errors. So I have nothing bad to say. I had an amazing experience with Bay Area CNA School. Signing up for the class was a breeze, and Marie, the manager, was helpful with answering any of the questions I have prior. The class was only 4.5 weeks long. It started out slow, but then it went by in a blank of an eye! I was so glad I had Mary as my instructor, because she was amazing! Not only did she covered all the information and skills we needed to learn and know, but through clinical, she modeled what a great example of what a passionate and caring CNA should be. She was on the floor with us most of the times, and she was always a text away to come help us if needed. We did 8 days of classroom theory learning and then 12 days of clinical at a long term care facility. The 12 days was enough to let us to be hands-on and practice in real life, and really use what we learn during theory. A helpful tip I have is to make sure you be proactive during clinical, so you get the most out of it! Your patients and CNAs would appreciate it too. My instructor, Julie, is top notch! She did her best to prepare all her students not only for Credentia testing and certification, but also practical skills that we will need out in the real world working as CNAs. The school provides a textbook, a pair of scrubs, and some personal equipment so you can practice skills at home. Both theory and clinical portions of the program flew by because it was fast paced and fun. The administrative staff is also wonderful and accommodating, scheduling a make up clinical session for me as I had missed a day due to illness. The school served its purpose but for me there were far more cons than pros. The classroom we were in had hardly any supplies in it so we had to take from other classes which caused some issues between instructors. It also caused some of us to feel like we were being put at a disadvantage because other classes had more supplies to perform practicals. Our instructor Mrs. Ayanna was amazing she would often bring in her own medical equipment just so we could perform practicals. I completed my program but if I could do it again I would go with a different school. read more

A lot. If the teacher asked the class to be more respectful or quiet would have been nice, constantly interrupting and laughing at every small thing made it difficult to get through the reading. The peers in the class made me very aware they didn't care about themself or others in the class. I was threatened by a student for asking her to stop disrupting so we could continue reading, teacher wasn't doing it but then also allowed her to threaten me. In my opinion she should have been removed from the class because she missed a ton of days to begin with . The teacher was kind and very smart about being a CNA but being kind doesn't mean u give a shit or that ur good at anything else. I want great education, it be nice if that respect was mutual. At the hospital we trained at, horrible form from employees, gossipy, mistakes happened by staff and tried to blame our class. There was a feeling of competitiveness and it felt inappropriate because it plainly looked like they didn't care, that's strictly my opinion but these are seniors that need care and it didn't seem like they cared , it was just a quick hi and bye to satisfy. They tried to reprimand me for helping pick up a broken plate while the kids stood and stared, not only them but the other nurses weren't very quick to help either. I get there's a specific job to be done but there's nothing wrong with helping out. I hope there's a few in the class that will be successful, I seen them, small handful did great. Otherwise I hope you mix up ur classes better cause it was so fucked up in that class with those kids they were mean af & it DOES matter. I'll never go back or refer that retirement home to anyone. Lastly to whomever called me to try to interrogate me about my time spent, I feel bad for you trying to trick me. You should be happy to know that I've obtained fantastic useful information during this brief medical learning experience & I hope you consider my concerns for the well being of ALL your students no matter the age. read more

I just graduated from the program today! Although 11 weeks sounds like a long time for the weekend classes, you get close to everyone. Beth is truly the best; she's super entertaining and sweet. She will always stand up for her students. it never feels rushed despite the program being 22 days. I loved every second of it, I think the price is also pretty reasonable at 1500 for tuition not including testing, TB test, or live scan. BLS/CPR is not included, but you can get it externally through ARC and AHA for another $70 because some programs charge 200+ to get it included in their CNA program! The locations of both the school and the facility were both very safe and clean. The school itself is right next to Dublin Bart (about a 10 minute walk). read more

Our instructor, Nancy C., was outstanding--she genuinely knew her stuff and took the time to thoroughly explain everything you need to know to be a competent CNA. Thanks to her guidance, I passed both the class and the state exam on my first try. I'm now preparing for the state clinical exam, and I feel confident that the knowledge and hands-on experience from this course will help me succeed in that as well. My classmates were wonderful too--though initially a bit quiet and shy for my taste, they found their voices when it mattered most. This summer I took the weekday A.M. class with Miss Julie, and it was so worth it! We started our clinical days at one facility, but the residents became sick and as students, we were no longer allowed in the facility. Miss Julie and the staff understood how important it was to make sure that we would be able to complete all of our clinical hours before our end date and quickly got us relocated to another facility, completing the program on time! I took the CNA course in September and was fortunate to have Jeremy as an instructor. He really is the best at what he does, and I cannot state that enough. He's fun, approachable, humorous, and amazingly patient. When I first signed up for the class I was nervous because I thought it might be scam it was too easy to sign up for and wasn't as expensive as I've heard others state class are. My Instructors name was Jeremy and he was assume! I did the weekend course. I personally did not like the teacher who was Ms Chris. She said racist and transphobic rhetoric during lecture that made fellow classmates and myself feel uncomfortable. The teacher was sick and notified the school that she would sick and unable to teach class. The school did not let the cohort know that there would be no class the following day but instead let us sit outside of the classroom, waiting for an hour until one of our classmates called the school. Then the school notified hours later that class was cancelled. It was the school's fault for not letting us know ahead of time so all of us wasted time and gas traveling to the school. Another time where the school had poor communication was when they sent us to the wrong clinical locations on the first day and then we were sent home. Again a waste of time and gas. But then, if the students miss a day of lecture or clinicals, we have to pay $50 to make it up. read more

I had an amazing experience during my time at Bay Area CNA! I was in the weekday program and Jeremy was my instructor. He is amazing! He really put in effort to make sure we were all succeeding, felt safe, and made sure we were all utilizing our learning material. I had no issues during enrollment and the fees for the program are very reasonable. The clinical experience during the weekday is very hands-on and we met amazing CNAs who we shadowed! I also loved the other students in my cohort and Jeremy created an environment where we encouraged one another and studied together.
