I had lost the combination to an old Sear Tower safe and I needed it open. I called a local locksmith and set up an appointment for Saturday, he never showed up would not return my phone calls. Then I called Golden Locksmith out of Houston and set up an appointment for the next evening. The technician showed up as promised, set up a work area to contain any mess made from drilling, had it open in short order and cleaned up when finished. This was not something I wanted to save so a repair was not necessary but was offered. He was plesent, professional, and if I ever need a Locksmith in the future I will be calling Golden Locksmith. I'm unsure if I'm ecstatic that we were able to get into our home after being locked out...or frustrated that it not only took longer than expected (I was quoted 30 min, but it took an hour for the locksmith to arrive), but it cost much more than expected--a whopping $150 plus taxes for a 2 min job. Other reviews praised these guys for their speedy service and reasonable prices, which is why I contacted them. Mind you, by no means was I expecting free service. We all have bills to pay and have to make a living somehow. I understand and respect that 100%. I'm just saying $150 plus tax is quite a bit for something that literally took less than 2 min to do...and that wasn't even including a lock replacement. We'll have to spend more money and do that ourselves. So thank you, Golden Locksmith, for the expensive lesson we learned tonight. 1) Never lose our house keys again and 2) keep our drill on hand bc that's all that was needed just to drill through the lock in less than 2min to enter our home. They are bunch of fraud. My car ignition wouldn't turn I called them, they came and did whatever they did, it started working for that moment, the guy billed me $250. The next day the same thing happened, I called them again. They said they will call me back in a minute. 2 hours later i called again. The technician told me to used a hammer to force the ignition to turn. I asked him is that what I paid $250 for? He told me he will come and get it fix. He never came. I called his phone and their office phone number, Nobody ever picked my call. I was really disappointed. That is fraud. read more

Very overpriced and unscrupulous sales tactics. I contacted company for price quote to install 3 double keyed deadbolt locks which I purchased, requiring drilling 1 hole for new lock and changing out 2 locks. I also requested estimate to install a metal plate to reinforce the door frame of 1 door (estimate $150 for metal plate + $50 labor). Initial estimate for lock installs & metal door plate was over $900. He lowered price to between $575-$625 to only install the deadbolt locks. I decided to forego installation of the deadbolt locks.Technician then recommended 3 door guards in lieu of metal plate. The technician spent more time reviewing options and readjusting pricing. The total price was $400, ($79/ea + $30/ea install fee, + $39 service call) and work took 10-15 minutes to install all 3 door guards. I later contacted 4 different locksmith companies to price installation of the deadbolt locks. All of the companies I contacted estimated between $140 -$180 to install all 3 deadbolt locks. Today I had 3 deadbolt locks installed (2 switch outs and 1 new lock (hole drilled) for $140 total, including service call fee and nearly 1.5 hours of labor. read more

I recently used Golden Locksmith to put a lock on a new shed door, as well as look at a doorknob lock that was not working on that same door.
