So I drove down just to be told I didn't have to pay a deposit, that she just needed to know I was serious about scheduling because people cancel. So, I scheduled my first appointment. The salon is clean and well-kept, and I had a great first experience. The man working there was a little rude when helping to start my nails soaking, but ultimately, I saw Nala, and she did a great job and seemed friendly. I scheduled two more appointments after that and the third time I went, she forgot I wanted a pedi, but it was fine. She did it. She gave me her number to text and schedule, but she responded 4 days later, saying she doesn't answer on weekends and only takes walk-ins on Fridays. I went on Friday, and she's sitting in the chair on her phone, so I think I'll get right in. She tells me I have to come back, and she's waiting on another lady (although she told me she doesn't take appointments). She told me to come back. I waited for her to see what the lady wanted done to understand timing. She said about 45 mins so when I asked if I could come back at the specific time (45 mins later) she told me if someone was there before me I'd have to wait, but she just waited on the lady before me. Huge contradiction. So I leave and text asking to schedule two weeks out and she never responds. I call the salon and she doesn't answer the phone. Now a day later and she's never got back to me. The situation was unprofessional and I will not be returning.

When I get my eyebrows done at home for $10 or less, I can go 6-8 weeks between threading with a bit of home maintenance. Both threaders I have seen here cut the eyebrows way too much instead of threading, so it looks good for about a week but then, once the hair starts growing, the basic shape is gone. It would cost a lot to maintain your brows here. Also, both people here have been slow at ripping the hair, for lack of better explanation. For me, slow ripping makes me look like a hive of bees attacked my forehead, plus it hurts more. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from trying to get their eyebrows threaded as it easily is the best method of making your eyebrows look polished,but I would ask them to actually thread more instead of cheating and using scissors. At the South Asian places I frequent, shaping with scissors is always the very last step.
