I read the reviews so I figured this would be a good clean place to go, but it was neither!!! I went in for a mani/pedi which they rushed through and the pedi started chipping that same day!!! Also, I've never in my life had any type of nail infection or fungal problem until I went to this place!!! Nope. Don't go here. Went on a whim and it was the worst mani/pedi I've every had. My cuticles are throbbing bc they were bleeding from being cut without being properly soaked. No one was friendly and both services were rough. My nails look so sloppy, I should have just opted out after the poor experience of the pedicure. Disappointed I even paid for the service, would have been better to light $60 on fire. read more

I would give them more stars but we'd made a reservation for 3 when they opened. They took my dad first, but then took another couple before my boyfriend and I. My dad ended up finishing and having to wait a good 30 minutes before me. We had a reservation when they opened, so they should have taken us all first, and me before my dad and boyfriend, since I took the longest (my ties had to be painted, whereas theirs didn't). I was not happy with the service I received. I needed a fill and had color on. It was a guy that was "taking care of me" he wasn't very nice and seemed like he just wanted to be done. He kept pulling my hands and twisting my fingers in a way that did not now and it did hurt. When he was filling my nails I said ouch, he said why are you saying ouch? And I replied because it hurt???? And again when he was twisting my finger and when he was done I was stretching it and then looked at me and laughed. I asked him if he was laughing at me? And he didn't say a word. To me it was very unprofessional and rude. He didn't listen to me and kept asking me the same questions I had already answered. Prices was decent but not for that experience I will never go back there. read more

Very friendly staff! My mom was visiting from Ohio and wanted to have gel nails applied. Thankfully your salon provides that service and she loved them! The nail technician was very experienced with the gel nail application. As for myself, the acrylics were great although I would have liked to seen a wider variety of nail art. Planning a destination wedding is a very difficult thing to do. And with all of the horror stories you hear about wedding disasters, my husband and I were very cautious in choosing our vendors. Originally, I was going to do my hair, make-up, and nails at the hotel spa. The hair and make-up trial turned out to be a disaster and the cost of manicure and pedicure was way above what I, and my bridesmaids, would venture to pay. Down the road, in a small shopping center, was Golden Nails. I was worried to trust a nail salon I had never been to and since I don't know any friends or family that live in Clearwater, I had to go with a positive attitude and a lot of hope. I called Golden Nails and spoke to Kim about my wedding at the end of July. I explained I had 8 ladies who would like to get a manicure and pedicure! We spoke briefly and set up an appointment for the day before the wedding. They could accommodate 4 at once and then the remaining 4 ladies would be after. The staff was polite, accommodating, and they did everyone's nails perfectly (including our 2 flower girls who were added at the last minute)! As any bride knows about nails, there is a big risk a woman takes when applying tips. It weakens your nail and its possibly to get fungus. Golden Nails offers some of the latest in nail products (like gel manicures) and uses good quality products. I didn't want to apply tips or fake nails but my nails weren't all even to have a natural French manicure. My manicurist made it happen with the gel manicure and they lasted for 3 weeks! I went straight through my honeymoon with great French manicured tips! After I returned to NY, 3 weeks after my wedding, I called Golden Nails to ask them about the appropriate way to remove my gel manicure. They explained the process but encouraged me to go to a nail salon and have it removed professionally. I decided to do it myself and my nails are still healthy, long and strong! When I visit Clearwater in our future, I'll be stopping by for a mani/pedi to last my vacation! read more

This review is long overdue! I got married at the Sheraton Sand Key across the street last May, and needed a place to get my nails done the day before the wedding. I called and scheduled an appointment for me, 4 bridesmaids, my mom, and cousin. They had cleared out their schedule for us, even when we arrived late, and were able to squeeze us in. They did an absolutely beautiful job. My French manicure was flawless, and lasted well through our honeymoon, including several scuba diving adventures. My pedicure also lasted forever, in fact it looked great for about a month! The salon is clean and I had a great experience, despite being stressed out the day before the wedding. They even told me to come back for a touch-up if anything got messed up before the big day. All destination brides on the south side of Clearwater should consider this salon! read more

I spotted this place near my hotel, so decided to get my nails redone due to them chipping after all the beaches and saltwater. Although a manicure was only $20, it was not done well. My nails were rough at the ends and I think the lady doing them spent more time looking outside than at my nails. I shouldn't have top file my own nails after a manicure. I would try another place before going back here. read more

Look every nail salon is the same it's all in who you get. I went in wanting a quick polish change using vinylux products since it's long lasting. The woman did an ok job on my toes using regular opi but my hands (vinylux) were streaky and the application was not good. A gentleman there re-did my nails and they looked great. I believe the original woman wasn't experienced with the product and didn't apply it properly. That being said my manicure didn't last as long as usual because, and I'm not sure but think they may have diluted the polish thus making it less effective. I will try them again since I am a seasonal resident, and will ask for a different technician and let you know how it goes. I do know a few people who go here on a regular basis and are very happy with their services. read more

I stopped in on vacation just because it was a short walk from my hotel. I got a new full set of pink & whites and a shellac pedicure. I am really picky about pink & whites and I think they did a great job for a great price. I will return next time I'm on vacation here. read more

Don go there! The quality of job is bad, especially manicure. They put thick coat that never dries well...also do not know how to put nail polish correctly. Neil polish was all over my cuticle and stayed only 2 days .Now I understand why they were so pushy .They kept asking me why don t you have shellac or gel? This was probably the worst pedicure of my life. Usually you're supposed to feel more relaxed after a pedicure and I felt the exact opposite. My nail technician (Kim I believe) seemed to have a nice demeanor when talking to a regular and her tone did a 180 with any other customer, especially me. What was supposed to be a 40-60 minute pedicure was a hasty 15-20 minutes. She only massaged one of my legs and scoffed at my skin condition (auto immune and certainly not contagious). My mother accompanied me and had a similar rushed and stressful pedicure. We experienced extremely unprofessional etiquette throughout our time at Golden Nails. We agree the money for a ride to anywhere but here next time will be well worth it. read more

The salon was lovely and the people nice. I went with 3 girl friends visiting from California, Connecticut, New York and Virginia. We all felt they rushed through the $25 peticure! Expensive with no extras. Both the mani and peti where plain -- just polish, not designs. The mani was a good price ($15) but the peti was expensive for what you got. There was no discount when you did both. read more
