!!!PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE EVEN CONSIDERING ADOPTING FROM HERE!!!! If I could rate this place less than a star I would! My girlfriend and I were looking for another dog for our english mastiff and we figured while looking for a friend we shoud consider looking into some shelter dogs. Well I fully regret getting one from here they sell you sick puppies and dogs and tell you that they're fully covered when they absoluty are NOT!! The puppy we adopted from them had swollen paws where she couldn't even walk, she was malnourished, wormy as all get out, she was loosing fur, she had really loose bloody stool and a terrible cough that wont go away I have tried everything to get this puppy back to health but nothing im getting from the vets is working and we have already spent $200 on vet bills excluding the $250 adoption fee for a shelter puppy. This place is extremely unprofessional they will give you childrens over the counter cough medicine for a severe cough, random pills in a unlabled sandwhich bag, and mylanta for bloody loose stool. They do not care about their dogs here or their situations and they dont try to make them better they only care about the money that they can profit off the animals by giving them the VERY minimum care they require. I have went to them several times trying to get my money back because I was sold a "fully covered dog" who got our service dog sick and put her out of work for a week which then again I had to pay more money in vet bills because of this shitty place! The last time i was there they told me that the puppy wasn't sick when we got her and that adoptions were final and if I wanted to surrender her they woud make her better but the problem is the don't assure that the first time its about the money they can get not the welfare of the animals interest. read more

ADOPTERS BEWARE!!!! If you only want to love on you fur baby for a day this is the place to go!!! We adopted a sweet 3 yr old guinea pig named Alvin and got the joy of loving him for a whole 23 hrs before he died. He weighed a whole 1.1# he should have been double that. He was covered in flee dirt, long nasty nails ,and lethargic. To Golden Paws this is a perfectly healthy animal!! According to management he say the pig daily and nothing was wrong with him. When asked about vet records I was advised they don't vet their pets unless there's something visibly wrong with them. THAT WAS A LIE!! Alvin was sick visibly and they did nothing for him!!! They want nothing more then your money! They couldn't care less about the pets! The currently have 2 active investigations on them through the Missouri department of agriculture and at least 1 with the usda!! Please please please don't support this please!!! read more

That was the most expensive neckerchief I've ever gotten my dog. Oh wait I was paying to a haircut too! Let me get the pros out of the way first. The neckercheif is cute. Haircut Cons: 1. I made the appointment and they quoted $30 on the phone and then when I got there they said $40. 2. I asked for her tail to be trimmed on the tip. I even pointed out where. The groomer shaved the base of the tail 1-1.5 inches up and that is the opposite end of the tail! 3. My dog has had her anal gland cleaned before with no problems, but this time they left her butt hole very red and swollen. 4. The legs were slightly trimmed and where her elbows are it was left long. 5. The paws were not neatly trimmed. 6. Stomach area and chest are blotchy and uneven. It was as if the lady trimmed with a razer and was not steady making imprints in the hair. 7. I asked for the ears to be trimmed and they weren't even touched. 8. The face was barely trimmed making my dog look top heavy. 9. The hair on the right and left of her face are not even. 10. There is hair hanging on the right over her mouth and trimmed on the left. 11. The top of her head now has an alfalfa. 12. When my dog was delivered to me she had hair clippings hanging off her and not cleaned up in the slightest. 13. They allowed my dog to eat hair kr aomething because she has been hacking and coughing since i picked her up Place of business cons: 1.The drive is narrow and needs repaved or finished at least. 2. dogs running around outside so you might hit them 3. At least 3-4 Dogs outside of cages in the lobby area laying in front of door and running around. 4. The groomer was unprofessional and flirting with a client. He was trying to leave. 5. Dirty on the inside where you pay. 6. They don't care abt the wellness of your pet, no paperwork necessary. If i wanted to have to trim up and clean up my dogs hair I would have given her a cut myself. I will not return. I am visiting from out of town and I pay the same amount of money in virginia beach as I did at this place and they do 100 times better. read more

I know I have fake name it's for privacy reasons. But I adopted here a few months ago They gave me a sick cat. I brought him in there 3 different times to be checked and they just gave me random medicine... then offered to let me TRADE him out for a different cat . I ended up spending over 300$ in vet bills to get him better. I called and asked if they were going to help me with the bills and they basically told me to F off. If you get a pet from here take them in for a wellness check. I love the kitty I got but giving/having sick cats and not doing anything about it is wrong. read more

I adopted a dog for my other dog due to I had to put my senior dog down I had 18 yrs and my dog was very lonesome. I saw a photo of a dog small weighed about 32 lbs was the same color dog as the dog I had. They only had a brief info on the little dog. But nothing on the background or why he was at this shelter. I paid $250 for this MM which my vet calls a missouri mix. He was very sweet but the dog had issues that I could not correct. The poor thing ate like he had never had a meal before. I had to buy a special bowl to slow his eating down. He was very small in statue. Destroyed my back yard I live in a neighborhood that the back yards are all fenced in and we have really nice size back yards. I also had a decorative fencing that was added to my fencing. the little dog digger so many holes under my fence almost every inch of that fence. Not to mention huge holes in my backyard I guess chasing moles. Was very disruptive to the neighbors next to me. The little dog wasn't vicious but very destructive no matter how much I tried to train him. After 3 months I had to return this dog and told the shelter of his behavior and the next adoptive parents needed to know he is very distructive . they never offered any of my money back. I know you should pay for the pets being fixed and shots. But I have had enough animals to know it doesn't cost $250 to have those procedures done.
