Exit 199 Once we decided on how to enter the parking lot, through the service station our next problem was to find the office. I redialed the park number and Dave answered. His is the Big Horn 5th wheel. Dave is very proud of his improvements, as he should be. He guided us into our parking space and showed us all the hookups. This might not be your first choice for an overnight but the restaurant, DamnYankees on the premises is worth the stay.

We had one of the sites "down the hill" where the long-term campers stay. It was FABULOUS. Lovely grassy areas, and a pretty creek. Our kids were 2, 5, and 7 at the time and played outside ALL THE TIME. We always had good service from the park staff. Since we were RV newbies, the park owner and his assistant had to help us a LOT, but they were always ready and willing. Anyway -- for an address close to everything, for a fairly low monthly outlay, this place Can't Be Beat.

The campsites are spaced out well and it could've been a wonderful place for our family to stay. From the start it was impossible getting a hold of a person to speak with. I booked our reservation online and realized I only reserved one day instead of the three days we were planning to stay. I immediately called and reached voicemail so I left a message. Then I sent an email just as a second attempt. Never got a response so I called again, left another message and never got a response. I should have just made a second reservation for the two additional days, that was my mistake. I accept responsibility for that. However, when I FINALLY saw a person on site at the office and told her my dilemma, she was very unkind, rude and unprofessional. It's so unfortunate that the customer service is lacking, this is a beautiful campsite otherwise.

Let's start with the appearance of things. It has a rough appearance. Things are very outdated. The playground is very depressing looking in appearance and unsafe to have your child to play there . The campground Host John was nice. The management was very unprofessional and immature in their business practices. I received a complaint against my family and I of running our pickup truck all night and for being aggressive towards another camper. That couldn't have been a bigger lie that could have been told. While I was staying there I would leave the campground at 5am daily and that would lead to the safe assumption I am sleep at the times I am being accused of running my truck engine. Also while staying at the campground. My family and I were barely their to even be able to interact with any of the other campers. The campground manager called me after receiving the complaints against me. She was very rude and aggressive, instead of hearing the facts of what truly happened. She wanted to talk over me and yell. She did this for roughly 5 minutes before stating " you can leave in the morning, and I will refund your money for the unused days", Then hung up in my face. To remind you I have a video recording of the other camper being aggressive, attempting to get in my face, while yelling racial slurs towards me. Not once did the campground manager listen to my side or to the truth. She chose to take the word of her permanent tenants and continued to falsely accuse me of things I did not do. Every complaint that was made against my family and I was nothing but a fabrication. When I filed a complaint back on both of the campers that lied on me. I was told " well I will follow up with them tomorrow" but you chose to follow up with me immediately. Regarding things I can prove were lies. I find it very ironic how both campers that complained were permanent tenants there. This manger was quick to proceed with kicking my family out of the campground but allowed both campers whom were aggressive and I have them on camera doing so. But they were allowed to stay? Clearly my skin color was the reasoning for this unfair, unprofessional, and prejudice behavior. AGAIN IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT STAYING HERE... DONT!!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR!

The whole story: I called and he said he had a gravel spot in his field for the same day and allowed us to arrive late (this is the good part). I called later to say we'd arrive later than 10pm and he said he was at a bar, but we could leave the money in the office and drive to his field to find our spot or he could call his wife to meet us. I said we'd just leave the money and find the spot, feeling uneasy about this place and the owner. When we arrived, he did meet us and walked us to a spot. He seemed like alcohol but was friendly. The spot was squeezed in between other RVs and down a slight hill, not in the field like he had said. There were several rocks that we had to get out of the way and I wondered if we would fit. It was not gravel and there were a lot of ants. We drove to the back of the property trying to find the field with gravel spots where he said we would stay. Couldn't find any spots except with broken electrical boxes. My husband called to see if there was a gravel spot in the field for us because the other spot he had showed us was full of ants. This is when he got irritated and dropped the f-bomb. My husband hung up and we left. Stayed at the Love's near the highway. Very bad experience and not a place for quick stay. He even said he has mostly long term RVers and doesn't usually allow for short stays.
