Our family had a very unpleasant customer service experience at this particular campsite. The property itself is beautifully situated with large shady trees and easy proximity to the highway. The campsites are spaced out well and it could've been a wonderful place for our family to stay. From the start it was impossible getting a hold of a person to speak with. I booked our reservation online and realized I only reserved one day instead of the three days we were planning to stay. I immediately called and reached voicemail so I left a message. Then I sent an email just as a second attempt. Never got a response so I called again, left another message and never got a response. I should have just made a second reservation for the two additional days, that was my mistake. I accept responsibility for that. However, when I FINALLY saw a person on site at the office and told her my dilemma, she was very unkind, rude and unprofessional. It's so unfortunate that the customer service is lacking, this is a beautiful campsite otherwise. read more

The grounds are very nice and the staff is friendly. Strange store hours so if you can't get a hold of anyone it's due to being closed from 11-2 lunch break. Great spots the front row is facing a main road but nothing to major. The pool is nice and well kept! Kids play in it most of the time. It's nice you can have pool floats in it. read more

Spent one night here. We had a spot, and kept having electrical issues. Spoke with the managers and moved spots. No electrical issues at the new spot. The gentleman even assisted us newbie campers with some good advice and guidance and assistance. The pool was super crystal clear blue. read more

We stopped in for an overnighter. Spaces are tight and roads are slightly more narrow than I would prefer for a 44 ft rig towing a truck. Sites were level gravel. I had to unhitched to fit in though, as they ARE long enough, but the hookups are too far to the rear of the site for me to connect without backing up the rig. It was clean, the people were nice, and the pool open until 9. Great big dog walking area too. read more

This is a nice, cheap campground for spending the night. The pull through sites are up front and easy to get to. The WiFi is adequate. They warn you that it is not capable of streaming. The check in process was quick and easy. It's a half mile off of I75. This was our second time staying here. read more

What an excellent KOA!! We've travelled for years across the United States and always frequented KOAs when they are available. This one, by far, is the best one we've ever camped! The park-like setting is well maintained, the sites are long and level. The pool is pristine! The grass is green, green and well manicured an games are set up for family use (such as horseshoes and cornhole). To begin with. I asked for long term campsite ...but wanted to try it out for a few days first to make sure it was a good fit so I paid for 12 days and bought a KOA rewards...as this was my first stay at KOA ever. Ann checked me in intentionally gave me the wrong wifi ( no big deal at this point). We discussed my therapy dog for my seizures. My new start after divorce...all was well in first conversation while I gave her money. Next morning my motorhome is full of flies.....coming thru the pipes rampantly because I had a full hook up....the sewage hookup. I mentioned this to one of the other female employees who acted like it was that time of year????? February March....pouring rain and freezing...do what? That night.....my water has been cut off.....I didn't know it til I needed coffee before heading to work. No big deal....didn't say anything...maybe they are fixing something. Next night it's freezing out. Flies still everywhere...water cut off at 9 pm ...not on again until after 2 the next day. Never was there anyone in the office when you needed to know what up with anything.... So at this point I haven't officially complained about anything. But when I do go to ask to switch sites to one that did not have a sewage hookup....Mrs ANN who is in her late 60s early 70s and carries a look like she thinks she is better than you are but she just ate a prune as well.....proceeds to never accept my reason for a change. She kept saying there are no more full hook up sites ..I kept saying that isn't what I want ...I want one without sewage because your system is a health hazard.....she told me to get off the premises. Now. It's rare I get that upset ...how rude and ugly she treated me....I had money in hand. But it should have been cheaper than what I've already paid which is why she did what she did I think. She was so busy trying to speak down and over me at the same time....my blood boiled. Which later lead to a seizure for me. I should have paid more attention to the reviews before I paid for my site on Google reviews. She is just a nasty nasty individual who from what I read ....is really really good at evil. Do not give your money to these people. When I told her I would report her she spelled her name out for me...ANN. the Owner/Manager she's disgusting as a person In general.....but not til after she has your money...so she can control it. read more

I had to cancel.... left messages.... called the KOA headquarters.... and sure enough here comes my confirmation..... leave a number again to call me .... no call.... This is a great KOA right off 75. We only stayed one night in a pull through at the front of the park but it was level and well lit at night. I made my reservation online and requested a long site since we were towing and they accommodated us well. Dog facilities are nice and only a short walk from the majority of the sites. The turn around was very large and nice for bigger rigs. Overall, it was a great place to stay except it is slightly noisy being as it is so close to 75 and a truck stop next door. read more

Keep driving!!!! The campsites are terrible and extremely hard to level! We had to use 4x4's to drive up on to even get close. Muddy and unkept grass. The picnic tables are on such a slope you can't even sit at them. The staff, especially Ann, are extremely RUDE. They will verbally attack you at the drop of a hat for absolutely no reason! It's a nightmare and you will feel like you're at the Bates motel! Don't do it! I don't leave bad reviews hardly ever but this had to be said. read more

Thankfully they were open during the Covid pandemic. Easy access off the interstate. They left our reservation info outside so we could avoid contact. Helpful and friendly office staff. Had some mobile RV repair work done while I was here which went ok. Close to the road but not too noisy. Large grassy areas and 2 nice, fenced dog parks. Had a pull-through site which was pretty level... I was in the row in the front of the park though... it looks like further back it's hillier. WiFi was ok. They have trash pickup at the site. read more

DO NOT CAMP HERE. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Ann (the owner) is the most horrible and nastiest person we have ever encountered in our life. We were driving 5 mph into the park and she came yelling and hollering at us to slow down. When we asked her if the speed limit was 5 mph she told us yes but that didn't matter. What???? She then kicked us out of the campground. We had to pack up all of our things at 4:00 in the afternoon and drive all the way home. She is a disgusting human being. The campground for the most part is gross. The bathrooms were disgusting, and the place was not a campground worth seeing or staying at at all. We will probably never stay at another KOA because of her again. When I asked her for the KOA main office number and to write her name down to report her she looked at me and condescendingly said can you spell Ann and walked off. read more

I should looked at the review on Google first before booking this Campground. It would have saved me some very unpleasant memories about "Southern Hospitality". Here are the details. During our ros d trip with our new tent trailer we booked the KOA campground in Cartersville for one night from May 22nd to May 23rd as we had a business appointment next morning in Cartersville. While check-in late morning was uneventful (besides the lady at the reception complaining about the campground owner never to show up and only collecting his money... no idea why I got that information....). We got assigned our spot and were told the office will be closed from now (11:00am) until 2:00pm. When we booked the site on the website it showed 30Amp electric and promised Wifi at all sites. After we set our tent trailer up and started to get comfortable I discovered there is no electricity on our site. I also couldn't get a wifi signal either. I walked to the office with my tablet. A reasonable Wifi signal was available there but as soon as I walked towards our site the signal diminished. As announced the office was closed. To make sure nothing on our trailer was malfunctioning I decided to go shopping for a new voltmeter as my old one broke a couple of days ago. Returning I measured the voltage at the receptacle on our site " 0Volt. By now it is 3:00 and I went to the office to tell the lady about the issues we have. Without hesitation she suggested I was too dumb to turn the breaker on and if I look around the campground I can see all the red poles where Internet repeaters will be installed soon for full coverage. As a German engineer I was not to dumb to turn the breaker on and preparing for Wifi should have read on their website as: Wifi on all sites coming soon. She said she is looking into it but I can have a refund if I want. I told her it is not about the money at all I am just disappointed that the features mentioned on their website are just not available and went back to my trailer. Half an hour later a guy shows up and without any greetings he went to our electric post and measured the voltage at the receptacle with the same results: 0V. Then he turned the breaker on and off rather violently a couple of time. That did the trick and he said "Here is your electricity" and left. Another half an hour later the lady from the office shows up. She hands me a receipt and told me she refunded my money and I have to leave. I told her I didn't ask for a refund nor have I canceled my reservation. I am intending to stay and not starting to look for another campground late on Sunday afternoon. She left without any further comments throwing the receipt at me. Another half hour later 2 police cars show up at our site!!!!! One officer stayed in his car while the other came out and approached me: Sir, you have to leave the campground as the people here don't want you to be here. I explained the situation to him and that I have a reservation with KOA and intend to stay until the morning. He explained to me the legal situation. Based on his information in Georgia every business owner has the right to refuse to do business with anyone for any reasons. I told him recently some one got in trouble refusing to bake a cake when he found out it was for a gay couple. The officer said: Sir we here in the South are more conservative and the law is that the campground has the right to order me to leave at any time. If I refuse to leave he would have no choice but to arrest me for criminal trespassing! He also said he sympathetic for my situation and understand my point but there is nothing he can do but ask me to leave. I said I will follow his orders and he should please allow me an hour to pack up. He said take all the time you need and he will tell the lady to rather stay in her office and not to approach me. I thanked him for his understanding and asked him whether he could recommend another campground in the vicinity where I might be lucky this late on a Sunday. He said there are many campgrounds around and if I Google I will see the results. Then he realized: Oh, there is no Wifi here and we both had a good laugh. We packed up, drove to the next fast food restaurant for some beverages and Wifi and found the Red Top Mountain campground. While it was after hours and the gates were closed we were able to reach the Ranger on call and were able to manage to get a site assigned and set up just at nightfall. Beautiful site, very helpful and friendly people and functioning power and water on site. No Wifi but it has not been promised in the first place. Based on our experience: When in the Cartersville, GA area avoid the KOA campground until you can confirm this Lady in the office has been "retired". I do not understand the owner of this campground nor KOA headquarters to allow this kind of behavior to happen. It is evident the personal there is not just having a bad day but running the campground more like a warden than a host! read more

Rudest KOA experience we've ever had in less than ten minutes. Our group of three campers stopped in traveling north from Florida to check for open spots for a night check in. We've used KOA campgrounds for years and have always enjoyed them. So we were not expecting what came next. We had barely had time to walk to the reservation board to look for any openings, before a huffy and extremely rude woman with a stick up her rear came out of the office telling us we were blocking the driveway. She told us that there was no room for us there and to leave immediately, as if we were about to rob the joint. Many member of our group were incredibly offended by her words and actions. We had intentionally parked over to one side to make sure to keep the driveway open and clear. We had been on the road nearly ten hours, and such treatment was uncalled for. Many groups of us often travel to Florida and back, and this campground will be permanently blacklisted for us. I will also pass this on to other friends and family to avoid at all costs. read more

If you're passing through for a day, this will do. If you're actually wanting to get a camping experience this isn't it. There are no fire pits and the spots are close together. Additionally, the public restrooms and showers are not ADA accessible so if you need those this is definitely not your place. I'm not sure the camp store was open when we were there but I could be wrong. read more

Very clean and nice KOA. Stayed one night had a big dog area. Kept basketballs,bean bags,horseshoes out for campers to play even when the office was closed which was a nice way to spend time. Nice pool and picnic area plus clean bathhouses. read more

I was really happy to see the current operators of this Journey KOA Campground, cleaning up and fixing the problems we had seen last year when we were here. Pool is clean, (can't use it yet), they installed a new children's activity center, and bathrooms are extremely Clean!! Front desk owners sweet, helpful, and considerate.Very friendly staff.!!!! This is good campground, a lot space for your pets to run, sites are very good and a lot shade around it, I will definitely recommend.

Stayed in this campground for 5 months. Nice place even with our little guy. But Ann is ridiculous and should not be in a place dealing with the public. She is rude, obnoxious, and a down right B****! After 5 months being there, without reason and 12 days notice, a week before Christmas no doubt, we were informed our guest agreement would not be renewed. After almost a week I inquired as to why. Was informed she didn't have to give me a reason. I'm not a person who people can just walk over easily so I had a few choice words. Then I was told it was because of incidents (speeding 7 mph and attempting to throw away non household trash) 6 weeks earlier was their reasoning. 1) I can't do much more than ride the brakes thru the park 2) I have video of them exceeding their own speed limits, 3) I attempted to explain my position but in true form Ann said "well you just have an excuse for everything don't ya." There is no talking to this lady, she is right, everyone else is wrong, and she's good at threats. She's just a pain in the A$$ who people need to steer clear of. Short stay it might be worth it, as long as you don't need to deal with management. But I'm my opinion a place is only as good as their management. These guys are HORRIBLE!!!! There are other campsites just as nice and cheaper in the area. I would encourage you to look elsewhere before deciding to stay here. read more

OMG. I just had the worst experience checking into a campground ever... and I've stayed here several times before and recommend it to others. I tried to reach campground calling six times starting at 9am. (The hours posted). Never received a call back. Made reservations on line for large pull through with full hookups. Arrived at 1:20. Office was closed until 2:00. There was an after hours box so I checked for my site. No paperwork. All sites had cones and I didn't know if one was the one I reserved. Told the office help would not be back til 3:00 to take any site without a cone. Went to manager residence on site they did not come to door. We tried site B2. Had to unhook car. And still not fit, car was parked in street. At 3 I went to the office and greeted the person behind the counter. I told her I had been calling and not received any calls back. She said yes your in B2. I explained its not large enough and we had to unhitch. She immediately lost it and informed me it is large enough that she put 40 footers in there all the time. I disagreed and she said it sounds like you unhappy so I'll just refund your money and you can leave. I told her we were set, I wasn't wanting a refund that I had just expected to get a call back and I wouldn't had driven out of the way to stay there. She started yelling that she's not going to argue with me and I just needed to get off the property. She would bring me my refund. So I went back and told hubby it's time to go. We stared breaking down camp she brought a large coach around who had to wait since our car was in the street. I asked if she had my receipt and she said she's busy. We pulled out and waited for our receipt so the other coach could park. She returned and informed me I needed to change my attitude if I'm going to camp at KOA. I told her she was the worsts camp manager ever. She gave me my receipt and told me to leave. She started to walk off and I tried to give her pen back and she told me to keep it as a souvenir. I told her I didn't want it and tossed it toward her cart. Again she started with the yelling. I have trained customer service people, she wouldn't have lasted a day. Well attitude changed, I will not camp there ever again. I'm sorry but I think a customer should be treated better and the manager (Ann Camp) should have had her job done before she took a long lunch. All of this could have been avoided if she had just returned my morning call, as the recording stated. After seeing the other reviews I can't understand why she is still a KOA Park. I thought they had standards and Ann does not meet them. read more
