So I was never quite sure if I had the right place. The only options I was given for a time were 8 am or 8 pm. I chose the latter. Upon arriving to TCM, the door was propped open so I let myself in and waited on the couch. Finally at exactly 8 pm, someone came out from giving another client a massage. She didnt call me by name- she just said "come on!" And showed me to my room and closed the door. No name verification, no paperwork, no questions about my medical history. The massage table is covered with disposable paper like at a doctors office. There was a towel to cover yourself up with. No sheet or blanket I won't go into details of the massage- it wasn't horrible but it was different. The massage therapist didn't discuss anything...just got right down to business which included uncovering body parts that don't normally get uncovered during normal massages. Upon leaving, I left my tip in the room and yelled out "thank you!" so she would know I was leaving. She came out from behind a partition and accused me of not having a tip for her. Real professional. Overall, not a good or relaxing experience. I would be extremely surprised if this is even a legal business.

They told me that is ok just show up. I show up Sunday, and show them the voucher, at that point they told me 1 voucher per person. I told them yes I know and I used that voucher on the reflexology. I have another one for Tui Na that you offered.. Then they told me no I can not use it. I told them it is another service that you offered on groupon. They told me no I can not use it. I never had an Ashiastu massage before, but looking into it, decided to give it a try since my back pain was flaring up and I needed help. I was very impressed with how much better this type of massage feels over the typical ones I get. An Ashiastu massage is the type where they walk on your back, but it is much more than that. I had a hard time believing how much she could manipulate her feet and my muscles with them, just amazing. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit.

I had been dealing with fertility issues for the last year, and was experiencing unbearable stress and anxiety. After just one visit with Kuan I felt the tightness in my chest going away and my anxiety disappearing. After just five visits I was pregnant. :) I continue to see Kuan every week. The experience is always very calming, and restful, and balancing. The office is always impeccably clean and welcoming. They have a huge selection of books in the waiting room that you can borrow on a weekly basis. They have bottled water. They have soothing relaxation music in all the rooms. The treatment beds are clean, comfortable, and heated. Kuan himself could not be any nicer or more accommodating. He starts each visit discussing your current state and makes adjustments to your treatment as necessary. Each acupuncture session also includes an acupressure massage (which is wonderful.) You don't have to be "into" every principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi, energy meridians, etc in order to feel the effectiveness of acupuncture. In fact, I started my visits as a pretty big skeptic. But whatever Kuan does, works! He helped relieve my stress and made me feel more balanced. And most importantly: he helped me get pregnant! I was in a horrible deep dark depression for the past 5 months solid and was desperate. The gentleman that answered was the most wonderful man named Bhaird. To my surprise and delight, Bhaird stated that "Depression and anxiety are some of my favorite things to treat!". No professional had spoke with me enthusiastically about getting better up to that point. Rather, I was told by a psychologist a days earlier that I had "a really really LONG way to go before I would get better"!! Not Bhaird. He couldn't guarantee how quickly the treatments would work, but he knew if I listened to his suggestions, gave a few a try, and scheduled the appropriate number of sessions that I would in fact find relief. I had been having thoughts of ending my life. So I figured, "What did I have to lose?" I gave it a shot. I'm so thankful I did. Prior to having these treatments, I had completely lost control of myself. I was so nervous and depressed about EVERYTHING I didn't even want to leave my bed! I would fight through the week (and it was a real struggle), but spend all evenings and weekends in my bed, crying, desperate for life again. This went on for FIVE months straight. Three of those months I cried every single day multiple times a day. I'm not sure what caused it, but I truly feared that I would NEVER again feel like myself. Too much time had passed being in that strange state. Sometime in late November I stopped working out entirely (something I have done my entire life), started eating very poorly if at all, stopped seeing or even talking to most of my friends, and just had lost the essence of my entire being! After about five weeks of roughly 2 sessions per week, I had my very first "normal" day! I decided I would keep track of how many days I felt good in a row. Since that very day, I have yet to have one more "dark" or anxious day. In fact, today I am currently at day 77!!!! Not only do I feel "normal", I feel amazing!!! Furthermore, I'm not sure if this is a direct result of acupuncture itself or just a better attitude and lease on life after going to acupuncture, but I also started taking off at work and feeling extremely passionate about what I do. (Mind you that I wanted to quit my job when I first came to the center because "I was miserable there and I couldn't do it anymore") Between the acupuncture itself and the many tools and resources that Bhaird equipped me with to combat my negative self talk and irrational fears, I feel as though my mind body and soul have been restored once again to whole. It took time. I didn't notice much of anything immediately after a session which was always strange to me, but subtly the next day would be different. And slowly but surely by utilizing the tools I had been given on a daily basis, I jumped the hurdle.
