Although I did not retain Ben's office for any paid work, he was decent enough to hear me out. I had a contractor give us a bait and switch on a sliding door, installing a retrofit door when new door was in the contract. I udnerstand it is not Ben's specialty, as he does mostly civil and injury litigation. He was able to tell me to look through the contract, things to look for, and explain the options of mediation, arbitration (on my contract) and small claims conducted on my own. It is really nice to have this quick call and get things explained to me as I have never been involved directly in a lawsuit before. Ben did offer his hourly rate for things such as reviewing contracts and rate for writing a demand letter to the contractor if needed. Budget and minimum fees are important to us. I feel his fee is not outrageous and close to the average in the area. Although, we didn't hire Ben's office (yet), based on my conversation with him, I feel like he is a good person, has attention to detail and will be able to handle any type of cases.
