We have been swimming with Goldfish Swim for almost 3 years now and my kids learn more and more every week. I am so proud to watch them progress as they learn water, safety skills, and all the right swimming techniques. I think every kid should know the basics surrounding water safety. My boys enjoy seeing the friendly faces of the teachers every week who have been helping them progress. The staff is amazing. I had to remove my daughters from here because you will basically pay for 15 to 8 min of swimming lessons. The instructors are teens who like to flirt within each-other most of the time. The groups are over crowded and they don't do much when a child is not paying attention and just splashing around they basically just ignore the situation while your child is waiting for their turn. Whenever they did pay attention the class focused more on the child than anything. The sitting area is super crowded and you can't see your child. I already removed my children from class and gave the proper notice given. A year later they still send emails even though I opted out and they tried to take $360 out of my account. When calling to find out why, they said they had no record of my children being there and to call my bank, even though the transaction has all of this site info. They don't bother to help, I would not recommend anyone to attend here. There is better options, unless your ok with the minimal swimming lessons, teens as teachers, crowded classes, no help from anyone onsite and just over paying in general. Be attentive with your account. Even after a year I'm still dealing with them. read more

If allowed to give a negative score, I would. When registering my grandson the ad stated a price for 12 weeks. I paid the price for the amount stated, only to find out 2 weeks after he started my credit card was charged again for a different amount that was more to start. In all I was charged $160 for 3 months, with swim classes 30 minutes, 2 hours a month. When I spoke to the staff, I was told it pays the month ahead and that I initially paid for the month. He stated in the middle of the month. No one can explain why I paid the amount for 12 weeks and why the online information didn't state there is an additional monthly charge but I was charged monthly. read more

It's a great option for the neighbourhood, but doesn't offer great options for kids who can swim decently enough. I would say that it's incredible for the new swimmer or reluctant swimmer. My son can use some better lessons to tighten up his form but the lanes are far too small for him to learn properly, because he's nine. They suggested swim team, where he would swim long ways I assume in the pool but the hours are too late. His bedtime is 8 and swim practice is slated for 7:45-8:15 or something like that. In any case I do like the layout, the showers, the dressing rooms etc, they're all very clean and super cute for kids. The toys for siblings are a nice touch however the noise that comes from the kids playing is awfully loud. read more

Beware their terrible, horrible, no good, very bad cancellation policy. You basically have to wish your cancellation on the full moon when mercury is in retrograde while sacrificing your first born to cancel. Ok, maybe not quite that bad, but might as well be. Here's what you've got to do: 1) submit 30 days in advance 2) specifically by filling out their paper form 3) talk to the (poor) "service/sales"manager (in quotes for a reason, more on that later) 4) come *IN PERSON* during COVID, while simultaneously following their don't come more than 5 mins early/don't linger rules. Give.me.a.break folks. There is absolutely no reason in pandemic-2021 that an otherwise decent neighborhood business should need to employ those shady, cheap-gym style, throw road blocks at you for no reason, cancellation policy. I get the 30 day notice, but to force the customer to come IN PERSON and have an extra COVID exposure when it can all be taken care of via email is preposterous. And then, when the "sales/service" manager approached me to discuss, she had printed out the the contract T's &C's in an attempt to double down on invalidating my point. That is neither good customer service nor how your retain sales. Yes, I am aware I signed some too-long-no-one-reads-these-tiny-print contract but that *STILL* does not make it a good policy. And then, surprise surprise (not), she could not deliver an answer as to why this sh*tty policy exists, esp in the middle of a pandemic. I'm still waiting, and now I'm mad that this was what passes for customer service here. Here's how you handle it next time: "I am so sorry to hear you're having a bad experience because of this policy and appreciate you sharing your feedback. I will be sure to share with the owners and see what can be done". See? Seriously, not hard at all, and saves my thumbs getting tired from writing bad reviews like this (ha). But seriously, feedback is how good businesses grow and adapt. Well-received feedback keeps angry customers from taking to the internet and dragging the company's public image down, and addresses/ de-escalates them so they'll hopefully stay. Everyone wins! It's too bad, because aside from the predatory cancellation practices, it is a decent school for trying to teach my mini to not drown. Instructors are sweet, facilities are nice. But way too hard to look past such an awful experience. read more

I was given a progress report 3 days prior to my daughter turning 3 years old. When I asked how they deal with this seeing that she turn 3 this week they said ready or not she has to move up to the class with out me in the water. I was under the impression they had to complete the skills required before moving up. Either way I wasn't given a progress report I was given an end of class report. I should have been given a warning that pretty much to the day she needed to be ready for the next class. If they truly cared about my child's well being and safety in the water we should have been told last month that we needed to work on ABC so she could progress to the next class. When I asked if I could talk to the manager or owner about my concerns I was told "I know them and they don't make exception for anyone". We were told we could finish out our 3 make ups and 3 classes in the level 2 class. So no window after 3 unless it is to complete your contract. So disappointed. She was just starting to gain some momentum and just went under water for the first time, and now we are done. Also , I'd like to add... According to the website you guys are flexible and Instructors are aware of the abilities that your child needs to have in order to maintain placement in his or her level. We understand that everyone learns in their own ways and at their own speed. read more

I unfortunately can not recommend Goldfish Swim School either. While there are so many positives about this school and I appreciated the customer service, staff and teachers, we just were hit with an unannounced $30 rate increase. This means that it costs $23.00 for a $30.00 minute lesson. Again, with zero notification. A friend of mine just got an $80 increase, jumping her bill to over $200 a month. Corporate/franchise greed. Go local. Your recreation center will be great and teach your kid how to swim at a fraction of the cost. Don't get robbed like we did! read more

I just have to sing their praises more! We have been with Goldfish for almost a year and my kids can swim so well it's been the absolute best experience! Again, I travel around 30 mins each way to be here, and was even going twice a week just for my kids to benefit from Goldfish. I mentioned one child not progressing as fast and they were so ON IT, we were with a teacher that was better for him right away. My oldest progressed to Swim Force and she LOVES it so much! They were even able to get them all at a time where now I only go once a week and their skills are just fantastic. I could not ask for more!!! Thank you Goldfish!! read more

I have always loved Goldfish! As a former swim instructor, I have always said that they "had it figured out" - great class sizes, different levels, ribbons, weekly prizes, gender neutral changing rooms, warm pool, and ledge for kids to sit on. Amazing! Now I am a nurse and I appreciate all the attention to detail they are offering for our safety. I will be honest - I was heartbroken at the idea of maybe having to cancel our membership with covid cases increasing. However - they have everyone's safety in mind! Sanitizer, face shield for instructors, social distancing in lobby, and now they have dividers between the kids! The kids that are waiting for their turn are not breathing on each other - there is a partition. Genius! I can not thank them enough! I now feel like I do not have to choose between safety and the physical/emotion health of my son (especially as things get colder and there are less options for physical activity!). I highly recommend Goldfish! My kids took a year off from swim lessons but upon their return, it was very clear that what they had originally learned at Goldfish stuck with them, because they picked up right were they left off. Proof that this program works! In addition, the staff is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable, always willing to help. Any questions and concerns are always handled with professionalism and sincerity. Finally, the facility is not only cute and kid friendly, but always kept clean and safe. We take the Friday morning swim lessons with two or three other littles for a 1/2 hour lesson. My three year old went from being terrified of getting a speck of water on his face to going under water with his instructor within a month of starting. We haven't yet tried the member open swim but plan to soon. read more

We love Goldfish! We go in chicago and I took my nieces to classes at the Denver location when visiting. It's amazing how far a kid can come in a few short weeks with great lessons. The facility is so new and clean and I love the individual changing rooms. Staff was friendly and kind. read more

My son has been going there and has made very little progress. In a 30 minute class he spends less than 5 minutes in the water. We had swim classes at a school in San Diego and by the 4 th class he was doing much better than he has done here after almost 2 months of classes. It's frustrating how little time is spent on actually focusing on the child. I called them to see if they had other options and they said that they could only do those on weekday mornings which are not possible for us as working parents. I have requested that he be moved to different schedule a few times but that also hasn't helped very much. All in all quite a disappointment Update: they were very supportive and tried to address concerns. I am really amazed at how responsive and active the owner is and she helped us through our Concerns. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place for infant swim lessons. We've been taking my son here for several months, and although his teacher is very nice, she doesn't seem to have any real training teaching infant swim. We spend half the classes singing songs and not enough time with any kind of teaching. Other teachers have been better, but there seems to be no consistency. Also their rescheduling policy is silly---can't reschedule until after the class time passes. So I have to make two calls, one to cancel and one to reschedule. We have ended up with a ton of unused classes and ended up just cancelling our membership. So much wasted money. read more

This is the 5th swim school we have been to in the last 5 years- and by far the best. From the comfort,cleanliness and bright decor of the facility to the quality instructors- we have been very impressed and swim lessons are no longer something I dread. I highly recommend! read more
