British Swim School,…read morehas repeated service failures and misleading practices by resulting in my toddler son not receiving proper swim instruction for over two months--despite the business manager **** continuing to charge me without providing the promised service. The issues began when all of the senior swim instructors at our location quit. Since then, my son has been placed with instructors who clearly lack the proper training or experience--especially in working with toddlers. Initially, we were asked to continue lessons at a Hampton Inn pool, which was both under construction and in unsanitary condition. Despite that, I continued the lessons. My son was then assigned to an instructor with no toddler experience. After raising my concerns, I was promised he would be paired with a more experienced instructor moving forward. Later, I was told my son would be paired with ****, the manager and lead swim trainer. However, when we arrived, my son was pushed aside to accommodate a new client's child and was instead handed off to a novice instructor who arrived 15 minutes late. That session involved no structured lesson--just my son being aimlessly tossed around in the water, without any of the promised instruction or protocol. At the very next session, my son was already in the water when I was told he wasn't even on the schedule. Once again, he was assigned to a random, inexperienced instructor--despite prior assurances of consistent, qualified instruction. Throughout this entire period, British Swim School has continued to collect payments, offers no refunds, and has not taken any meaningful action to resolve the issue. My son has been continually dismissed and underserved, and I've paid for services we clearly have not received. This feels like a complete breach of trust and, at this point, borders on fraud.

They sing songs to keep the young one engaged and really focus on those survival skills. They do a good job at keeping parents up to date with their progress and discuss tips to help the kids as advance. The pool at the xchange is very clean, the British swim staff is constantly spraying and wiping down areas more so as a covid precaution. Parking can be limited and the pool is on the 4th floor so you want to give yourself plenty of time. Classes start promptly as scheduled. Downside: pool is colder than most. Not great for little ones. I have told by many that it's the xchange management who refuses to keep it at a warmer temperature. Also the cost for swim lessons is on the more expensive side. Aside from that it is a great program and I highly recommend it.

Once when my child's instructor was out, Mr.Charles was a sub, and I noticed him scolding my child a few times to stop playing with the water. Understandable that children need to listen but at the same time these are toddlers that lack complete understanding especially when your asking them to stop Playing with water. I didn't appreciate that, so if it happens again I will raise concerns with management. I believe there is a better way to handle children than making a stern face and asking them to stop. When he (Mr, Charles) noticed I was looking, he made a calm face really quickly. Next issue is that I've noticed more frequently, the waiting guests some of them have 0 people skills. They leave their bags on chairs and walk away for long periods. This is unfair to other waiting parents who would like to sit up front to watch their kids. I think there should be signage posted everywhere that if anyone gets up for any reason, they need to take their belongings with them or leave them in the cubbies at the back.

Despite making this request multiple times, this is now the second time we have arrived for class only to discover that her instructor was off, with absolutely no advance notice. The issue is not simply that the instructor was absent--it is the repeated lack of communication and the way my concerns were handled when I brought them to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was dismissive and did not take the time to meaningfully explain the cancellation policy, address my concerns, or offer any reasonable solution. To make matters worse, when I got home, I noticed an additional charge on my credit card. We were told that both the class my daughter showed up for (but did not attend because she would not get in the water with an unfamiliar instructor) and the additional charge would be reversed. We are now nearly a week later and are still waiting for the promised reversal to be processed. Having to repeatedly follow up over something that should have been handled clearly and professionally from the start is incredibly disappointing. For a business that works with young children, communication, consistency, and customer service should be a priority. Unfortunately, our experience has fallen far short of those expectations. I hope the management team takes this feedback seriously and contacts us to resolve the outstanding charge and address how this situation was handled.

Poor Communication The instructor does not communicate with you about your child's improvements or what needs to be worked on. They advanced my son within a month and did not tell me. 2. No Updates On Child's Portal On my sons online portal there is no update on his improvements or skill that's he's working on in class. When they advanced my son, I did not see it on the portal. It still says Starfish (Level 1) 3. Very Unprofessional Every time I call no one answers the phone. They will call you back at their convenience. When we walk into the class, the workers are on their phone and once I've overheard a very personal conversation. 3. Instructors/Submerging/Drowning One of the male instructors allow my son to go underwater to many times and would not help him. It was to the point my son looked like he was drowning and I had to yell for the instructor to help him. I felt HIGHLY uncomfortable and at that point I was definitely discontinuing his classes with British Swim. Plus the kids do not get the same instructor which falls into poor communication. 4. False Advertisement The flyer I received from the gym LA fitness said you can book two classes per week. I tried to schedule two classes and they told me no because they were overbooked. But if you book two classes you'll get a better price than booking one class. 5. Overbooked Classes They have 3 kids in a 30 min class and a 5 min play time which means a 25 min class. If you break down the time each child is getting per lesson, that means each child is getting less than 10 mins of swimming lessons. I am highly disappointed with this franchise. I've communicated all my concerns and nothing has been done. This is not my sons first swimming school so I kinda have an idea of how it should or can be conducted.

You get beyond get your monies worth ! Other places ive been your kid is in the water barely 30 min and the instructor's alternate so your kid is swimming barely 15 min! Scheduling is tough but the instructors are great and really care about the kids learning to swim. The facility is very clean even though the bathroom/changing rooms are very small. Parking is never an issue since there are over 50 parking spots. No worry about being cold because the pool is heated. It does get quite crazy during registration because of the limited time slots especially for beginner classes. They are expanding to a new location for the higher levels near Coney Island with a much larger pool which is needed for proper level 4+ training when they learn to glide. They also have adult swim classes on certain times but it's mostly younger kids here and mostly Asian kids. All students are required to have proper gear including a head cap and goggles. They also sell SwimKoi branded ones.

My daughter had delayed speech and wasn't speaking at the beginning of the year, but by end of the year became a chatterbox. They really set up the children well for kindergarten and truly take care of your kids. I moved a bit farther away but I wish all my children can come here. I strongly recommend. If your child needs help assimilating to school, they really are patient and help every step of the way. The director before school starts, helps give parents all the information on what to expect on the first day and is very good with communication.
