They're open 24 hours and they have great customer service. The gym equipment is absolutely amazing and there's always constant updates and modifications to continue addressing each and every Gym goers request. The gym is always clean and again the favorite part of this it is 24 hours. When we started our membership we loved how they seemed supportive of military families. We told DANNY we were pending orders to move cross country and asked if canceling would be difficult or tedious. He assured us that if we were to have military orders that we could cancel any time. The time came to cancel and my husband called the gym and was instructed to email them the orders. We emailed them the orders and trusted they would cancel our membership. I was already 8 months pregnant, we traveled cross country and bought a house, we had a newborn, and he deployed 4 months later so you can imagine how busy we were. He just came back from deployment and THEY NEVER CANCELED OUR MEMBERSHIP. Not to mention we don't even have a Golds Gym near us. DANNY told us there was nothing they could do because we didn't keep our confirmation number but that would cancel today (OVER A YEAR LATER of NOT using their Gym). Now after receiving approval for cancelation, they are charging us an additional month because of their "30-day policy"... extremely disappointed with this franchise owner and Gold's Gym. Been a member for over 11 years ..... 24/7 facility a definite plus ... security cameras and secured doors so only members can enter with key tags after staff hours . When the staff is here they always make you feel welcome and it's always a pleasure to see their smiling faces. They always keep the facility fresh by changing things up a bit by adding new equipment or updating the interior or rearranging the layout . A place for all levels of physical fitness training from beginners to advanced. I've seen teens with their parents working out to the elderly in their 80's ... there's a daycare too for the little ones. Nothing that hasn't been said by others, but the owner of this establishment is crooked and is just trying to swindle you for your money. My husband and I went to Gold's to try it out, under the guise of a "10-day free trial". When we got there, the owner, Danny, informed us that it would be a $15-per-person day pass to try out the gym. When I asked Danny for some more details - specifically, I asked him why we had to pay a day pass when we had a free trial - he was very evasive with me and didn't want to answer the question. Eventually, after I kept pressing him, he told me the 10-day free trial is an "olive branch" to get people to come in, and that you can't actually try out the gym for free. He literally admitted to false advertising to get people in the door, so he can then charge them money. So, in review: this particular franchise owner is crooked, acts like a slimy businessman, and is just in it to get your money. Literally Planet Fitness is a better gym experience. read more

This has been my home gym for awhile and while I do love it, I hate how packed it gets in the evening. It's almost impossible for me to get a decent workout in late in the afternoon or evening after work because there are so many people. Overall they have a great selection of machines as well as free weights. I would highly recommend the gym to others but I would warn them about how busy it can get at certain times. read more

Gold's Gym is an excellent gym. I could go into so much they provide in so many different types of workout equipment, the many different classes and virtual classes on demand, and they're sanitation practice coupled with them employing professional sanitation services because of Covid, but I would like to focus on one of their coaches that I've had the opportunity to experience. As a retired Marine, I knew how to Workout like I did back in the day. I worked out like that with my hubby up until Covid shutdowns. The shut down was so long and depression ensued, then I couldn't get myself back to the gym which used to be a enjoyed habit. I saw a coach that impressed me while I was on the tread mill. I had never had a personal trainer before, but I felt I really needed one since I was in full menopause and needed to learn how to workout best for my aging body; strength training as I had always done it before, I knew was not good or effective for me and I needed education. I asked for the coach who impressed me, Jocelyn. Now, I have been working with Jocelyn for four months now and she is amazing! She designed my workouts specifically for me. She keeps in mind the problems that I have with my neck and right thumb, and helps me adjust my body mechanics to be able to do the exercises she picked out for me so as to not put strain or discomfort in those areas. Each session is 30 minutes, and she devises the workouts to get the maximum benefit without feeling like your working. She gets me sweating just by combinations of different exercises tailored to what I had expressed I wanted to work on. Jocelyn, is a wonderful trainer because she pays special attention to your goals, she constantly checks in to get feedback from you of how you are feeling and then makes adjustment too the workouts based on that. She also carefully watches for proper body mechanics to help you train your muscles to support your movements and protect your spine and joints. I trust Jocelyn helping me make my body strong way more than I trust my family doctor and orthopedist. She's not a doctor, but she pays close attention to my feedback, my body movements, and helps me to correct and understand my body mechanics to feel better, stronger, more flexible and have better balance. Jocelyn really gives her all when she works with you. She is very supportive and encouraging and genuinely interested in your feedback in order to adjust your workouts to help you get the most out of your workout while protecting your body and keeping you interested. She is very knowledgeable and really cares, and she is well worth it! You are in good hands Jocelyn is your coach! read more

WOULD NEVER GO AGAIN. This place makes Gold's Gym as a brand look terrible. Not only is it packed like sardines at this location but they lack a sauna. My main and biggest complaint comes after going in with a guest. Call me entitled but I've been hooked up at other Golds Gym locations with up to two weeks for a buddy pass. I'm on a travel pass and walked into this location and they were trying to charge my guest $10 to workout there. This is garbage considering other staff have been able to award me with a guest pass for a friend and we're even nice enough to extend it. I could care less what the actual rules are after that. Either as staff you're willing to hook people up or you're being greedy and charging guests off the bat. Additionally, it gets so packed and the machines are so close to each other that social distancing is nearly impossible here. I would never go back here unless they hooked up my guest with a pass that other Golds have been able to do with no issue. This place is trash. Don't go here. There are better gyms in the area. read more

the negative reviews on this site are complete bogus. some of the people (like the one about the manager touching his child) didn't even have a membership or go to the gym. there is fine print no matter where you go and if you choose not to read it, that fault is yours. this gym is clean and organized, the staff make me feel like they actually want me there. I would give $20 to someone if I ever walked in unwelcomed. the daycare is AMAZING, never crowded and the assistants are kind and remembered my son's name from day one. it is a much calmer and safer environment than fit4life and he doesn't get overstimulated like he did there when they had 40 kids in one small room. it does get crowded in the evenings, but we live in a military town and that's rush hour. you won't find a family friendly gym around here that isn't. they could use more space but the equipment is body builder quality and they have tanning too so that is a plus! read more

For anyone wanting to join this Gold's gym & in the military. Please be sure to read & re-read your contract. The cancelation process is horrible! Nobody in the facility told us that there is a 30 notice, until we had to call due to being charged a extra month & a annual fee. The facility manager was very sarcastic/rude when I called to try to dispute the annual fee which comes out at any point of the contract(for our contract it was January), but due to deployment orders my husband is already out of the state and he can not attend the gym for the 15 days remaining that they allowed him in January. There was no solution to our problem & the customer service is horrible. I would not recommend this facility to any of our military friends/family in Jacksonville due to our horrible experience. read more

The only reason I'm giving them a 2 (and not a 1) is because of the gym itself. I should have known that a "free" trial week came with a catch, like a "free" credit score. The gym itself is pretty nice. I was most impressed with the cardio theatre, the huge fitness studio, and variety of equipment. However, the gym is unnecessarily HOT. Seriously, it was like a swamp in there. I hear that it's because muscle magoos like their muscles to "glisten". Give me a break, brochacho, because some of us just end up with swamp ass because we sweat from, oh - I don't know, working out not just because the gym is humid. But my real gripe is with the sneaky management. Oh, they were perfectly accommodating when I first walked in the door. I really did not expect to have to sign a contract and pay $40 to use a free trial for a few days. Granted, this was the first time I even tried to try out a private gym (I use a corporate gym where my free trial was actually FREE). I was told that if I decided to not use Gold's that I can cancel before the 7 day trial was over and I could get a full refund. I cancelled 3 days before the trial was up, and I have yet to see the refund. I was told it would take about a month (perfect amount of time for me to forget that I paid $40 for a gym membership that I don't have). I emailed Danny to get my freaking money back and bam, I get an email 20 minutes later from a AP person saying my card will be refunded within 3-5 days. Sneaky, sneaky - I think that's bad business. So if you plan to TRY out the gym, be ready to fork over the cash first. But hey, you might get to meet Sylvester Stalone's doppleganger. Good luck - and read the fine print. I really did not mind this gym until they started changing their class schedules. They don't seem to understand that most larger people enjoy the classes to help jump start their weight loss. The manager Danny is the only nice worker they have in this place. For the most part the others just sit around not doing much. And when he is not around they won't even speak. They are also eating at the front desk when you walk in. I don't know about you but when I'm heading in to work out I don't want to see a guy eating a big mac. Also ladies if you go to this place around 530 the bathroom is a nasty mess. I think you can save money by going to another gym. read more

I wasn't going to post a bad review but after the service my husband and I received last night I figured it was necessary. We went to Gold's Gym with a 7 day pass and like every gym them hounded us to start a membership. My husband and I thought about it overnight and decided to join we needed a gym to go to off base that wasn't always packed... my husband went to start the membership without me and the man who took care of him was being rude and made it seem like we were unable to afford Gold's Gym, he even offered to pay the "$1 enrollment fee out of his own pocket if it was an issue" my husband brushed it off and we still joined. Two days later we felt really uncomfortable with the atmosphere of people there and the way he was treated stuck with us. We read some other reviews about how some other people were ripped off and we decided to cancel and try out some other gyms in the area. When we went in to cancel the manager Will was taking care of us we told him why we wanted to cancel and how we were treated he asked us to explain and we did then he had us sign the paperwork. THEN the man who signed my husband and I up walked up between us and the manager came out of no where and said "I couldn't help but overhear you were unhappy with the service you received from me" my husband started explaining that he didn't like the way the man spoke to him and it became a very uncomfortable back and forth sort of argument type of thing that I had to step into and stop so we could leave. The manager stood quiet and when I stepped in he said "we just want to know what we can improve" when we had already explained what they could improve to him twice. For $70 a month I think we should be going to a gym with a sauna, steam room and good damn customer service. That whole situation was just really uncomfortable. read more

Very clean and never really too packed. Its usually busiest Mon-Fri between 5-7pm. Early mornings and weekends are usually super empty. Machines are all new and they have a neat TV area where about 10-15 cardio machines are in a dim corner facing a few different tv's that show different channels/movies. Also a major plus is there is an even number of men and woman so it doesn't make it awkward for a girl to workout like the base gym. read more
