I was completely wrong! This zoo is nestled in the woods, giving the animal exhibits a much more natural, peaceful feel. It really seems like the animals are in an environment that's closer to their natural habitat. One of the highlights of our visit was a staff member who let us interact with some of the animals--my kids got to hold a snake, a lizard, and even a big tortoise. He was super knowledgeable and shared all kinds of fun facts about the animals. It was definitely my kids' favorite part of the trip! The only thing I would suggest is updating the exhibit signs. Some of them are worn out and could really use some color photos and clearer information to help visitors learn more about the animals. Dogs need there space not to be in the middle of an active field with small dogs, ppl, children. That's a bad connection. The trainers bring dogs that have no control of their senses to a family park in an open space. Park department should not allow this. My dad trained German shepherd , Doberman and he trained them indoor until they were well trained and obedience. If they continue to get complains the park department may listen. I don't know why they are not investigating yet. I would hate to have find another park for my pup because of safety.
