Horrible Gold's Gym with mostly crap staff and a crappy business owner whom is completely lazy and unwilling to replace and/or maintain simple equipment that is easily replaceable or easily maintained with regular maintenance. The outside area which has a small boxing section has three speed bag platforms with not ONE single platform with the actual speed bag attached to it. Went out and bought one (which I shouldn't even have to do) just so I could get back into my old boxing routine and it wouldn't attach because the actual swivel is missing an attachment component that already typically attached to it when first installed. I'm an actual boxer with years of experience and have never had this issue at any Gold's Gym, yet, this is just a sad and pathetic place... Sad really... Talked to one of the nice assistant managers and he assured me he would buy a new one and actually came to look at the problem I was referring to, yet, it's been two weeks now since my last conversation with him and there is literally nothing on those platforms for anyone to use... Whatever It's a good thing I won't be here in this crap state too much longer. Makes me happy to know I'm from CA where people are much better and aren't lazy crap business owners and take pride in their facilities. Gold's Gym should really come in and make this corporate, for liability purposes and purposes of not dragging its own name down. read more

This is a gym that provides an outdoor swimming pool that's not heated in winters, perfect for polar bears. I joined Gold's Gym only because it has swimming pool, but I am not willing to get hypothermia. Lockers cost money. If your belongings can fit in one cubic foot, and you brought your own lock, you could get a tiny free locker space. Comparing with 24-hour fitness, this gym gets one star. read more

The staff is nice but the maintenance of the pool is not the greatest. I love swimming and enjoy doing it as an exercise. I've swam at other gyms but never have I experienced the uncleanliness of a pool. Should they keep up with the maintenance in the future I'll consider a better rating. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS GYM!!! Desk staff is friendly enough, but the Manager Jay is deceptive and will go back on anything he tells you. I canceled my membership in May, talked to him about the consideration of coming back, and he took it upon himself to reinstate my membership and charge my bank account 2 months later with no warning. He had also told me that the training sessions that I had paid $2,800 for and not used yet will not expire, that I can use them whenever. Then when I called to ask why I was charged again, he acted like he had never said that and claimed that they were going to expire in a month so I'd better keep paying my membership. There are so many better and more trustworthy gyms out there. The biggest mistake I've ever made in my life was walking into golds gym. read more

The group exercise classes at Gold's are great. Top notch instructors. Clean facility and hard working custodial staff. Updated review: my car window was bashed in and my Chanel Chanel purse was stolen from my car during a 9:30 Body Pump class. No one's fault. Manager at the time was unsympathetic, advising me that break-ins happen often in their parking lot. Grrr. read more

After 7 months of being told to leave Gold's gym for a 2 day late annual maintenance fee ( monthly fee paid) and told to hang up my phone and asked who I was speaking to by the Regional General Manager Jay Luna, he finally approached me on March 21 2023 to tell me it was all his Sales Assistant Manager who caused all this misunderstanding. He took no responsibility even blaming the person I was speaking to on the phone. To me this was a forced apology since he told me that he had spoken to Lesly Santiago after I send emails to every manager at Golds. Oscar Sandoval was the only one who took his time to check my paid months and even apologized for me being kicked out. Jay went with what Maide Rios told him without getting his facts right. He has no self control. He spoke to me like he owned the gym. I expect everyone who is one day late to be kicked out just like they did to me. After reading all the reviews I realize the problem is him. I was told he was the one that had the highest position there and that there was no one else. If I have to take this to corporate I WILL!!! He humiliated me and gave me no chance to defend myself , he just wasn't having it. After a long days work , all I want to do is workout, and they pull this on me . No customer service. Employees always on their phone, but I can't even be in mine. (Crazy) read more

Friendly staff and plenty of equipment for cardio and weight lifting. This is my home gym away from home while visiting my parents in Mission TX. I work out at this facility 12-15 times a year. They sell a day pass (24 hours) and week passes as well. Affordable gym for those who are spending a few days in Mission. The locker room is always clean and the swimming pool is well maintained. I look forward to my next visit during the Christmas holiday season in a couple of months. read more

This is my current gym and my favorite of the Gold's I've visited here in the RGV. The staff is very friendly, always greeting and saying goodbye, and I have found the establishment itself to be clean- well as clean as a place where a lot of people come to sweat. There are showers with good water pressure (because that's important when you're getting dressed in a hurry for work in the morning!) and super spacious and private changing rooms which are a saving grace! There is a lot of equipment- free weights, cardio machines (including treadmills, stair climbers, ellipticals, bikes), lots of different exercise machines, and a two lane pool for laps. There's also a women's area which never gets too crowded (thank you, Jesus!), and if you go early enough (around 7am), you may even find you have the area all to yourself! I have never found this gym to be too too crowded to the point I have to stand around because all the equipment is taken, and that's even during peak hours after work (4-8pm). I've never taken a group class, so I cannot comment on that, but I have seen numerous personal trainers training fellow gym goers countless times. Everyone is very friendly and there's a great mix of young and old, super fit and the barely starting out. I would recommend training here and believe no one would feel discouraged or out of place here as some gyms can create an intimidating environment. read more

Very small gym. My main issue is the maintenance and cleanliness which are heavily lacking. Several cardio machines have either the screen nonfunctional or are very squeaky/noisy. Very run down and poorly maintained locker rooms. Weight racks are always disorganized. During peak times it's impossible to get a good workout due to the small size of the gym. Overall a very run down appearance. Would expect much more out of a Gold's Gym. The other Gold's in McAllen and San Antonio I have used are much better maintained. Likely going to switch to TruFit one block up the street. read more

Poor maintenance and ineffective management. Only 2 rowing machines, one in the women only section and the other out of service most of the time. Complaints to staff fell on deaf ears since problems persist. read more

This gym is small and can get very overcrowded especially at 8pm. Very limited equipment due to the small size of the facility. They do have 2 racquetball courts. Only 2 bench press! And 2 squat racks! Imagine trying to work out with all the high-school kids after work. I always find myself having to wait around for an open station. These high school kids also have no discipline and do not put up their weights. This is by far the smallest gym in mission although it is very accessible since it's right of the frontage. Staff is very friendly and nice and their is a huge parking lot next to the gym. read more

Stuck in this town for a month. Gym is about 1/2 mile away. Called to get a price and they said they would not give me one over the phone. They said I should stop by and then they could give me a price. What kind of disastrous business practice is that? I'm going elsewhere. read more
