My favorite thing about their pool is that its heated in the winter. I haven't had that luxury ever before. It is so wonderful to not miss 4 months of swimming. Im not sure what a previous reviewer meant when he said it wasn't heated. Many friends who swim there tell me they have tried the locations in Mission and Dove Ave. According to them this is the best location for maintenance and cleaning always being attended to. Even though I personally don't use the weights or machines all the staff are always pleasant and friendly.

The morning custodial (female) was rude and would tell you to clean up the mess when clearly it was not yours. This gym lacks pride, professionalism and customer service. I needed help to get back into shape. I got the help here. Mike helped and has been training me. He adapted his training regimen to meet my goals and fitness level. I am stronger and healthier. His education and personal commitment to fitness definitely made a huge positive difference. I have been going to VPR for about 6 months. I haven't felt results like these since I was in my 20s. My knock against it is the people don't put their weights back and they leave their belongings out everywhere. I'm not trying to knock over your water bottle or step on your iPhone while I'm searching for the 20-25lb dumbbell weights that were probably misplaced by some dumbbell. There are machines a plenty and I did not have any issues with the staff. There's also an place to hang your keys/jacket but do so at your own risk. They have rooms for spin and Zumba classes as well. I probably wouldn't have come here if not for the free passes but it beats working out at the hotel's exercise room.

But you get what you pay for. Everything is always broken (all all the locations), you're surrounded by a bunch of high school kids who just take all the weights and leave them strewn about the entire gym so basically nothing is ever available because it's never put back. Of course, it wouldn't be fair to judge a business by how rude the other patrons are so... My customer service experience: your payments can only be made through direct deposit, so when your contract is up and you submit the paperwork to cancel (and the employees don't submit it properly), they will continue to withdrawal money directly from your checking account. I've been emailing and calling their billing department about this for MONTHS and they just say that they'll talk to a manager and hang up. Every single time. Nothing ever gets done and they still have not refunded me. Additionally, I filled out the paperwork to cancel several months before my last day. I had it marked in my calendar and did everything I was supposed to. Steer clear of this company, they will overdraw from your account even if you are a responsible person and submit all the necessary paperwork to cancel. It's better to support local businesses anyway.
