I joined Gold's Gym yesterday because I'm on a mission to lose 120 pounds. My oldest son has a membership at Gold's and since my separation from my wife, I don't get to see him to much because of his sports and school schedule. This is a great way for us to connect a few times a week and catch up on life together. It's crazy how much you miss your kids when you don't get to see them everyday! Even though my life has fallen apart in the last month and dreams have been shattered concerning my almost 20 year marriage (18 1/2), I know that I can come here to get away from everything and focus on me and my oldest son. I really love the openness of this locations floor plan. It is much nicer in my opinion than the Old Fort location. The staff are an amazing help, and the people I've run into so far are very nice and out going. I'm truly looking forward to my personal transformation process. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE PERSONAL TRAINER! I love gold's gym don't get me wrong. It's the trainers that suck. I pay $200/mo. for personal trainer sessions. It is not worth it at all. They constantly cancel and reschedule. They never reach out to actually reschedule either. I was supposed to get a meal plan as well and after weeks of asking never received. It was always "someone else job" Very disappointed. Cost a minimum of 500 dollars to cancel. $299 cancellation fee plus the $200 draft during the 30 day cancellation process. It's a shame that a gym that promotes hard training, a gym where literally the greatest body builders have worked out and completely set the foundation of lifting cares so damn much about gym bags on the gym floor...This gym is the red headed step child of the golds gym trio. I was pretty dang happy when this second Murfreesboro location opened in May, because it was so much more convenient. This is where the Publix used to be- and Food Lion before that, so it's a decent sized space. Plus, you don't have to wrestle with mall traffic, poorly-planned parking, etc. like you do with the Old Fort location. That said, this gym is a tiny bit smaller and fit inside a structure intended for produce, not producing results. The layout of this Gold's is way more logical, with the machines laid out logically and the weights very organized. This one has a track, unlike the other spot, if you're into that. This Gold's has only two tanning beds, down from three. In summary, I like this location way better than the Old Fort one because it has: better parking, better layout (with no random fish aquarium), and way less traffic to battle. Now if only there was a Gold's Gym within 25 miles of Nashville, where I just moved :( read more

I've been going here for over a year. Can't beat the value. Since it is so cheap, I put up with a lot. Generally, I can get my work out in. The aerobic equipment is not always repaired quickly. Toe clips on the cycles are never in place. My biggest concern is in the locker room. Today, one of the locker doors came off as I opened it and it fell on me. This could have caused a real injury. The locker doors are in terrible shape. Many are damaged and falling off. It has taken several weeks for the owner to "Adjust the temperature" in the showers. read more

Recently moved to Murfreesboro, This gym is laid out nice and has a variety of equipment to workout with, only negative I saw initially was that there was only one rack of dumbbells, with the number of patrons in the afternoon it's hard to get a workout..., adding an additional rack 5-130 would definitely be an improvement read more

I've been going to Gold's for almost 4 years now and I highly recommend Golds. I couldn't believe how reasonable their membership fees were compared to my previous gym experiences. Since then, I have upgraded to the platinum and have really enjoyed the hot yoga studio, the body pump classes, and recently the "functional fitness" classes. I also like getting a water bottle for my workout because it's one less thing I have to remember to bring. If you are a part of a traditional crossfit gym, you should consider golds. The functional fitness is pretty much the same, but offered in a gym. There is an indoor track too which is great for the runs. Stephanie and Mitch are excellent instructors. I have been a part of a normal box and I get the same crossfit feel for about 1/4 the price! read more

The fact that I had to pay for an additional 30 days when I walked in to cancel because of a recent move is the most ridiculous business practice I have ever seen! I was also not under contract! For this reason and past unexplainable charges I do not recommend this gym to any one! read more

This is my gym I absolutely love it , spray tan, kids club , sauna is great and always a friendly atmosphere. Only thing missing is I wish they had the classes here they way they do at the other gyms but when I want to do a class I can just go to the golds on old fort or in Smyrna read more

SCAM! LIARS! Gold's gym has COMPLETELY used me and taken advantage of me! I was told I would only be charged once a month upon signing up with this gym. I later on, found out that it was TWICE A WEEK for payment. NOT spilt in half. But THE SAME PRICE every TWO WEEKS. I was pissed when I found this out. I found this out because I had just paid my monthly bill, two weeks later I get a notification saying that my payment was due. I was like, this just has to be a mistake. So I called up there and a young male employee told me that I was mislead. I was thinking....really?? No!!!.. I was NOT mislead. If I knew I would be paying TWICE A WEEK for a freaking gym membership, I WOULD HAVE NEVER BECAME A MEMBER!!!!! They lie to you, act nice, just to get you to join. I was highly upset. I ended up not having time to go up there until a couple days later. When I get there, I was meeting my friend and I was already late. So, I started talking to the employee there and we pretty much got into an argument. He kept telling me I was mislead and blah blah blah. Didn't offer me any kind of refund or anything!!! I was training for a fitness pageant at the time and I didn't know what to do because I needed to use the gym. I ended up having to pay like $60 in LATE FEES!!!!!! I have tried contacting Gold's Gym REPEATEDLY and they won't do anything. I have became pregnant and so I haven't even been able to go work out. I have tried everything with them....even trying to get them to cancel my membership and they won't do it!!!! I will never go back here. I will NEVER pay them another DIME. I am still getting letters and bills in the mail from them and its been like 7 MONTHS!!!! I've even gotten letters saying its being taken to a collection agency! WOW! Now this will look HORRIBLE on my credit. I can't believe these LYING, SCAMMING, MANIPULATIVE, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF INNOCENT PEOPLE ...affecting their lives like this as they have done to mine! I am just still in complete shock. They even took all of my money out of my account and DRAINED my account out! So I had to stop putting money on my card or they would continue to take all of my money out. When I loaded my card, they INSTANTLY drained my account out. I had just left the bank and none less than one minute, Gold's Gym was ALL OVER my account and just took all of my money. I'm highly upset. It makes me SICK knowing what these people have done to me! Horrible customer service. They don't care about you at all. I have three memberships with Gold's Gym. I went in earlier this month to cancel them because we had not used them in a while, plus my two children are away in college. They would only let me cancel my membership, when I am paying all three monthly charges, because my children are 18 or older. I was also charged $10 to pay for the upcoming month when I canceled my membership. Today, I went to the gym with one of my daughters who was in town. We went there to cancel hers and I was going to bring my other daughter later. The lady at the front desk said we need to come back on Monday because they don't process cancellations on weekends. I searched and could not find any way to cancel by phone or online. Nowhere on their website do they give you any of these policies. All of these policies are completing horrible customer service. I am sure if I had my bank start blocking their charges, they would send collection agencies after me. They just want my money and know many people will stop going and collect month's of fees that go unused by the customer without caring about us. read more

Today I returned to Gold's after leavening for two years at college. I had been before and been on my family's plan and my mother and I returned to see if that was possible to rejoin. We however were greeted by Harley the GM or so I was told and we were very rudely told we couldn't. She also tried to charge my family for the complimentary water they received for being VIP members for years! Absolutely unacceptable behavior from a GM or any staff of any store. Good gym at a fair price. The functional fitness class with coach Alex alone makes it worth buying the platinum membership.

Pros: New equipment Indoor turf field with sleds Good quality bars, plates, and dumbbells Cons: They advertise that members can use the "cross fit" equipment and training area and the indoor turf field, but these areas are monopolized during their classes which run from 5 a.m. through 6 p.m., so in reality, members cannot use these areas during class times. A simple solution for this would be to designate a small portion of the "cross fit" jungle gym, Olympic weights, and one lane of the field for regular members during class times for members who do not wish to participate in the classes. There are no labels on the dumbbell weight rack. There are no labels on the plate racks. Indoor turf field sled attachments wear out over time and must be replaced Cable pulley attachments wear out over time and must be replaced The heavy bags wear out over time and must be replaced The speed bag has been out of order for several months The "cross fit" classes should not infringe on the martial arts/boxing training area The martial arts/boxing training area should have cushioned mats and should be marked as a shoe free, or boxing/martial arts/wrestling shoe only area. The specialized shoes, or shoe free rule would reduce wear and tear on the heavy bags caused by other shoes. The plate loaded seated row machine has been out of order for several weeks Equipment is placed dangerously close together, (a negligence lawsuit waiting to happen). A simple solution would be to consider re-arranging certian pieces of equipment, or adopting a less is more approach. Management needs to enforce the: "return your equipment to its proper storage location" rule. The owners or management seem more concerned with expanding to new locations than maintaining their current gyms. I would be more than happy to write an excellent review if the previously aforementioned changes were made. read more

The Gold's Gym in Murfreesboro pulled a bait and switch on me twice. The first time the big yellow "$10 a month, no contract, open 24 hours" sign caught my attention, and I went inside to find out more information. They give you a guided tour of the gym, and as you listen to their sales pitch, you start to realize that they lied to you to get you in there. The person who did my tour said, "We aren't actually opened 24 hours. That's our other location and they only do that on Saturday" and "The $10 membership is for use of the equipment only, and it's not actually $10 a month. You have to pay a HUGE "maintenance fee" every 6 months". I didn't get to the part where they likely give you some paperwork to sign and confirm your membership, but it's safe to say that the "no contract" part is probably a lie too. If you're comfortable saying no when you're pressed to sign today, I still think it's worth it to go inside. It will satisfy your curiosity of how they converted the place from a grocery into a gym and they give you a free 1 day gym pass on a business card. I know; I should have known better to fall for their tricks a second time, but I did, and this time it really made me angry. I was at my favorite shoe store, and I noticed that Gold's Gym had placed a sweepstakes / raffle box by the door which clearly says, "Enter to win a free month of gym membership". Imagine you've entered a contest, and it's in the back of your mind that "Hey, I could actually win this" so then they call you and tell you that you've won "Sweet!" so you make a special trip across town to pick up your free 1 month membership pass, and then you find out that you didn't really win anything. They call everyone who enters into the contest, tell them that they have won, and when you show up, you find out that you didn't actually win anything. It's just another sleazy tactic to get you into the store so they can tell you about the awful deal I described in my first paragraph. Do yourself a favor and buy a membership at the SportsCom. They offer a 1/2 off 1 year membership deal every December. The deal is even better if you're a senior citizen, and as of writing this, they recently completed a 1 million dollar plus renovation which includes upgrading the A/C, a brand new gym floor on the basketball court, running / walking track, a new exercise facility on the first floor, and you probably already know about the indoor and outdoor pool and exercise classes. read more

Be informed. Their $10/ month membership comes with a $49 sign up fee and a $39 "club maintenance fee" that they will not tell you about up front. They draft the "club maintenance fee" out with your first months payment. I would not even have walked in there if I had known it was $88 up front. I feel like I was scammed. read more

I have been a platinum member for over two years. I have been with this location since it opened and I have finally reached the limit of my patience with this gym and the ownership. At one time, it was the best gym in town. The price for the services delivered was excellent. Unfortunately, the owners became less concerned with the members and the product they provided to them. The gym quickly experienced an identity crisis and walls started getting painted, and painted again, and again, and so on... Equipment was placed close together and the gym became ridiculously crowded. I chose to stay for throughout all of that and I hoped the owners would see the light and recognize their error. They did not. The gym is now glowing and the identity crisis continues. Members are not the priority at this gym. Having ladders and painting during peak times is a huge inconvenience to members. Never once was there an apology to the members for the mess or the disruption. Yesterday it looked like a rave dance club. It has become a messy, disorganized, and depressing place to work out. Weights are everywhere, you can't find attachments for cable machines, weight benches are falling apart and the place is filthy. One mess has been in the back corner for over a month. If you didn't know, we used to work out there. I guess it is cool to leave broken stuff there instead. Thank you for taking that away. Instead of painting the walls, maybe you should have talked to members and LISTENED to our concerns. It really is simple. We want a clean and organized gym with serviceable equipment that is maintained regularly, a friendly staff, trainers that know what they are doing and that are courteous to members, and an environment that is bright and inviting. How about upgrading the Wi-Fi, so it is reliable and members can actually use it throughout the gym and be able to reliably listen to Pandora, Spotify, or whatever streaming music they please. Improve the product. Improve the services provided. Pay to keep a good staff and prevent turnover. That's what members want, not another coat of paint or lighting that makes our clothes glow. Gentlemen, its Business 101! Customers First!!! I hope that it improves for all the good people that use Gold's. I can no longer put up with the lack of appreciation for the members, so I cancelled my membership today. I can get a much better product elsewhere. This gym or the other locations are no longer worth the platinum price. It has become a value gym and at $5/bi-weekly that's a stretch. read more

I felt like the owner was then just shoving it down my throat. I decided to try it seeing as though I know nothing about working out. I had a trainer then she quit on me, they then switched my trainer. I wasn't satisfied at all! I talked to them and told them I didn't like this and felt like I had no real goal. Every time we had a session all I did was weight machines. I'm not going to spend 90 bucks a month on someone teaching me nothing. I then found out that the trainers are suppose to set a goal and weigh you to see what all progress you have made, you know keep you on track so you actually accomplish something. I never had anything done like that. Extremely aggravated I told the owner who acted mad that I said enough was enough. He then gave me a number to call and cancel. I was charged 250 dollars to cancel plus they charged me 90 again for next months even though I'm not even using it. I explained that I was never even give the sessions I had paid for. Oh yeah no they didn't care either. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS! HOPE THEIR HAPPY THEY STOLE MY HARD EARNED MONEY! read more
