Knowing my ex had an abusive past and police had been involved she'd still shut the door for "privacy" when she left or let him go on the entire duration of the mediation and take over the whole time so nothing got resolved when I urged for some firmness. Also felt pushed to agree to his many demands while mine were pushed in back burner. In the end it ended up being a lot more expensive because mediator let the time run and him take his time. She then submitted notes stating agreement to things I had not agreed to and making me feel guilty for not going back. You should use a lawyer instead! They are much better at this. Her background made this seem like couple's counseling which might be good if you are both sane caring individuals who need help with communication; not dealing with someone with past domestic violence and anger issues. She has not clue of the terrible legal ramifications of her notes and actions that now I have to deal with even after the mediation failed!
