Golestan is a marvelous school for your child(ren) if you want: + phenomenal, caring teachers + a community built around kindness + individualized learning for each child + A world conscious, IB (International Baccalaureate) akin program + to support a nonprofit that helps other schools for free + nature, gardening, appreciation of beauty + treating others with respect taught Kids build their own environment on the playground. The 'graduation' day is called Flying Forward. The children beautifully run across the playground, flying, jumping off enormous rocks, into the arms of their teachers, then off through a tunnel made by the raised arms of the children who have gone before. I wish my older child could have gone there. I wish *I* could have gone there. So Worth It.

There is nothing we would change about Golestan, even if we could! Our daughter has attended preschool through K so far. The administration is highly communicative, thoughtful, caring for their staff, and innovative. Yalda, their ED, is always available if needed though her team is highly capable as well. We feel we are in the best hands in an increasingly challenging school landscape of Covid risks and fire seasons. Rather than a transactional feel, Golestan fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among the staff, students and their families. We couldn't think of any better teachers to entrust our daughter with and for her to look up to as role models. The teachers are so flexible and creative, providing individualized care to each student's needs. We know they are nurturing our daughter's love of learning, critical thinking and curiosity which are essential for leading a life of meaning, connection and resiliency. The highest recommendation comes from our daughter who says "I like my school so much it makes me want to stay there forever and ever and ever. And I love my teachers so much!" Oh! How could I forget the amazing food, the language/cultural learning, outdoor classrooms, field trips, soccer, garden and music classes! How truly lucky we are to be at this gem of a school

Beautiful indoor-outdoor space and curriculum. Best if you are concerned about viruses. Kind and peaceful ambiance.

Here's one more grateful mama writing the praises of Tilden Prep. Our son attended a well-ranked…read morepublic high school for his 9th and 10th grade years. He is a bright guy and has always done fine in school, but never liked reading, and spelling is not his thing. We were assured by well-meaning teachers that his challenges would disappear with time. The first two years of high school were miserable for him, and I had to drag him out of bed every morning to get there. He worked hard, but his grades steadily declined until he pretty much gave up putting any effort into his assignments if he did them at all. The last straw was when he confided to me sadly that he no longer felt smart at all. Ugh. So, long story slightly less long, we had him tested and discovered that he is dyslexic. Of course, this information made his teachers' suggestions that he work HARDER, rather than DIFFERENTLY even more frustrating. We discovered sadly that his school was unable and/or unwilling to help him out. The silver lining for us was sending him to Tilden for his junior and senior years. What a Godsend they are there! After two years at Tilden, our son is graduating with the knowledge that he is capable, intelligent, and has learned how to learn in a way that works for him. He's excited to attend college next year with renewed confidence. Tilden is pricey, but for us, it was well worth it. The teachers and Sallie, the head of the school, were committed, encouraging, and engaging. What relief to see our boy back on track and excited for his future!

It offers greater depth…read moreand breadth of curriculum and more highly educated staff than its competitors, like Fusion Academy. For example, Tilden offers Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. While such courses are offered at a community college, having the option to learn 1:1 is critical in giving a student a more solid foundation before entering a 4-year college. At the same time, the rates make more sense than Fusion Academy, which is on a trimester system and 30% more. Tilden is run like a school rather than a corporation. It's more pure to its cause. Good job Tilden. Keep up the good work!

We used Yelp to make a list and toured each one, but there was always something that didn't feel quite right - one school, for example, only offered interesting programs in the afternoon, which didn't work for us. It started to feel like we were running out of options, especially since we wanted a preschool close to home where our child could socialize easily (we speak a different language at home, so this was important to us). Then, one day, my wife happened to walk past CPC. She picked up a flyer by the gate and scheduled a tour. We're still grateful she did. We were impressed from the start. During the visit, a child came up to our daughter, offered her a hand, and asked if she wanted to play. That small gesture meant a lot. We learned about CPC's program, saw the projects and the daily schedule, and knew this was the right place for our daughter. Years later, we're still happy with that decision. Our second child also went to CPC, and both of our kids absolutely loved it. They've grown into kind, emotionally intelligent, creative children who make friends easily. They know so much about nature thanks to CPC, and they often surprise us with the things they've learned. The preschool also offers a wide variety of activities - our kids enjoyed field trips, music, gymnastics, and swimming classes. It's clear that CPC goes beyond just childcare - it's a place that truly nurtures curiosity and development. Now, as we're expecting our third child, we don't even need to think about it - CPC is the obvious choice.

With many dedicated teachers and staff. They will say hi to your kids even at the grocery store! I have nothing but positive feedbacks for this school and it takes the community/village to raise young people. This is a dedicated community of parents who are constantly volunteering and giving back to the school. This community keeps the students safe by prioritizing safety, and investing in teachers ongoing development!

Second off they have also let me in on that their friend has been mentally abused and scarred by their third grade teacher. For privacy reasons, is called Ms B. In other events, I was also alerted that a suicide note was inside of the boy's lavatory and was most likely from this school and school caused it. The new change in authority was nice though because the old principal was pretty rude. As previously told, there is a janitor currently in charge in the cafeteria. What baffles me is that this janitor isn't even letting the new lunch monitor do her job because the janitor thinks she has more power than she already has. Don't really recommend, 1.5 stars.

She said oh was it Mrs------? I said no it was a man and her response was we don't have any men working at the school and then she goes. Oh well it must just be a staff member of the day. This was very concerning and I did not like this happening on the first day of school. Then the second day of school, my daughter was put into the afterschool program which she's not enrolled in by her teacher. I have been asking since day, one to volunteer in the classroom and have gotten fingerprinted and have gotten no response about it. I have been completely dismissed. She picks other people to volunteer in the classroom, even though I was the only one to sign up at open house. I've been persistent about wanting to volunteer and no response. My daughter has been through trauma, and I shared this with the teacher on the first day of school and I feel I've been discriminated against. It's been quite upsetting and it was a big mistake to have my daughter register at the school. Staff are not understanding and can be very under mining.

I love that my daughter sees me active with her school along with the other kids asking me if we are doing an art project? We had our 2nd Silent Fiesta Auction which was a huge success. When we walk on campus, all the teachers on yard duty always smile and say hello! The office staff and Principal Ms Murphy are wonderful and always ready to help! I am looking forward to another 4 years at Fairmont Elementary.
