My husband and I had been trying to have a baby for three years, and after countless disappointments, we had completely given up hope. Since we both work remotely, we made a bold decision--sell everything, leave Santa Barbara, and travel the world. Before we left in April 2023, I visited Dr. Mariko Horie's office, hoping to find some alternative ways to manage the stress and weight gain I was experiencing. I had never tried acupuncture before, but I was desperate for anything that could help regulate my nervous system. From my very first session, I was blown away. I felt like I was floating. When I mentioned my chronic jaw tension, Dr. Horie worked her magic, and for the first time, I experienced a release so profound it was as if years of stress melted away in an instant.
