Have had an Anniversary membership going on our second year now. Since this isn't a full membership, we don't get all the perks but still is a great deal. My husband and our young son used to rent carts but once they started charging a separate cart fee for a 7 year/old, we got pull carts and started walking the course. (More exercise anyways). I think the fee to walk is $9 with our membership. The course is nice/ok. For instance, last week we notice a bunch of bare spots in the grass but when we went last time, they had covered them with sod. Greens are ok, not perfect but still ok. Low laying areas collect water when it rains. My husband said because it's a public course, it does get a lot of "traffic." sometimes he'll get stuck behind people/groups who aren't very good and it takes FOREVER. Lately we have been going late and it hasn't been terrible. Members are overall pretty nice. Have only had one "issue" where one was pretty rude. Workers are nice. If you're looking for a pristine course, this isn't it but it is close to us, the price is right and it's good for our son to learn on. read more

Stopped in because we been looking to play golf and since this is open to the public we said let's go. It's inside a gated community and is very nice. It felt awkward when we first arrived as we stood out a lot. I take everyone else was members. They seem to all know each other pretty well. However they were all polite and friendly. Hidden golf course that we just found. It looks easy but was pretty challenging. Excellent condition

Ran by a few guys that look the part of a jazz quartet in a smoky bar. The staff is very professional, and the lady with a heavy southern accent runs the kitchen/bar to the smooth beat of a metronome. The best thing about this course, is the sub $20 pricing on Golfnow. Gold: 6734 Blue: 6482 White: 6075 Black: 5817 Red: 5483 The heavy dog legs both way cuts down most armature's chances of reaching the par 4's in 2 on this short track. The layout also called for lots of water in the forms of small ponds and nature reserves down entire length of several holes. Pro: Greens run smooth and true. Very scenic course with a tough layout. Long par 3's with danger. Great course design to force creative shot making. Almost all par 5 have a risk/reward factor of fairway crossing water/hazards. Cons: Bunkers have a mud-ish sand and pebbles. Dead spots on the greens(Prob caused by drought last year) Oddly bumpy T boxes, tough to get a comfortable stance. Low budget interior in the club house. Funeral processions passing by 3 times while we are on the course? Cart girls in the morning only? Is 18 a par 4 or 5? (Sign says 5, scorecard says 4) This Country Place Golf club gives you the scenic sensation of a private country club(Which it once was) for little cost($19.50 per person on golfnow). So while it accumulated a long Con's list, the price makes this one of the best golf experiences in Houston. read more

This golf course is really nice gated entry soon as you park the clubhouse is just a few steps. The golf carts are nice and work well. We got to play early Christmas morning which was awesome. The course was taken care of the fairway was decent and the greens were nice. The greens were a little fast but manageable. It was my first time playing here and I would love to come back. Made the mistake of purchasing a $90 golf lesson before securing an actual appointment. The golf pro gave me the run around for months and provided little to no communication. When I tried calling the club to complain, I was sent to voicemail each time with no call backs. I find their operation, owner and staff extremely unprofessional. Don't waste your money. This course is great all around. Definitely a challenging layout for your novice golfer. A small snack bar at the turn, water available on the course plus cart girl always swinging around. Shop is humble and cozy. The putting green was closed unfortunately this time. The one thing that is off putting is the range and holes 17 & 18 i believe, dont have a net for stray shots despite being along the streets entering and leaving the community the course is apart of. This course should be played for practice only. You won't spend big bucks to play a round and you will see why as soon as you tee off. Bunkers are more like pools with mud and heavy packed sand, fairways are somewhat decent depending on the hole, but most have lots of tree debris, huge holes, and offer a very bumpy ride for the cart. The greens are very spotty and sandy with some having patches of sands for you to putt over. If you're like me who doesn't want to spend big money on courses until I improve on my game this course offers a chance to play and hone skills but not break the bank even if you play a bad round. The driving range is pretty bad though, no ball nets for the street so be careful hitting and driving up to the course. This course gets the job done, but with the bare minimum...but I'm cheap so I'll prob play a few more rounds here. read more

Not sure why I paid $60 to end up getting stuck waiting behind tournament players. Not sure why they were booking tee times before tournament play only to do a bad job or organizing the shotgun tournament start so that paying groups were mixed in with tournament players. Plus we didn't see the cart girl until the we were on the 10th hole after the turn which ironically coincided with the start of the tournament. It's a nice golf course that doesn't drain all that well and the marshal had to go around after play started to tell players that it was cart path only even though the posted signs said 90 degree only. So just don't go on tournament days after it rains. read more

Golf course was renovated over a year ago. I used to not want to play here even though it was very cheap to play. After the renovation, greens and fairways are very nice now. No more bumps on the fairway like before the renovation. Green is rolling nicely. I will definitely be coming back to play more often. read more

One of the better public courses in Houston area. Been playing it all summer since the first time playing it in April or May. $50 but worth it. GPS in the carts, course is in great shape, greens are fast but in good shape. Usually not a big crowd so you're not hurried or waiting much on the people in front of you. Course is challenging, but great for all skill levels. Overall, great course that is highly recommended. read more

Well kept, greens are fast, gps on carts, and fair pricing. I would play here again and again. Don't miss the fairways because you will be either wet or your ball will be lost in the rough. Lots of dog legs and blind shots off the tee you just have to trust your swing. read more

I think maybe 10 people can fit on the driving range. It's right next to the road. Driving up to the course from 288 should be done with care as balls fly at your windshield and drivers side window. :-( Tee boxes are as undulating as the greens. Hope you don't roll your ankle and hurt yourself while teeing off. The fairways have more moguls than an olympic downhill ski course. You'll need a Jeep or Hummer to cross at speed. MIght want to bring a helmet for safety reasons. The sand bunkers, er ... I mean, dirt and aggregate resemblance to a bunker need some help. Make sure no one stands in front of your "bunker" shots so that they don't take direct fire from the shrapnel/rocks that will shoot out. Many small pebbles in the "bunkers." Glad I only had to hit out of one of them. They all looked the same. :-/ Greens look "green" from the tee box. Then when you stand on the hard concrete-like surface and try to putt ... forget it!! I got a certificate for lunch + beverage by signing up my tee time on line. When I ordered the cheeseburger, they tried to charge me extra for a slice of cheese. Why give someone a meal voucher and then nickel and dime them over a slice of cheese. Get real! I had no cash and tried to pay with my credit card (.50 cents) I was informed that there was a $5.00 minimum. I feel bad for the lady behind the counter who I went off on. Sorry ma'am. This is the worst golf course I have ever golfed on. Very poor condition. I know they are reconditioning the course but you have to spend more than a couple of million to get that dog heap into playable shape. Exposed tree roots in the fairway, dollar weeds through the greens, no collared sand traps, cement on the cart paths are broken, etc... I golfed there because I got a $12 green fee from Golfnow and still feel ripped off...whaaat. I should have paid $3 more for a large bucket at the driving range. read more

My son and I tried Pearland Golf Club yesterday for the very first time. At the tee box for Hole 3, our golf cart broke down. I called the main number and was told by Alex that someone would get out to help us within 15 minutes. I finally called back 30 minutes later to tell them no one had showed up. I spoke with Todd who said he would try to get us some help. I asked if we should just walk, to which he advised that we might be held liable for any damage to the golf cart if we just left it. So I waited. And waited. 1 hour after I had originally called I called again. The lady I spoke with was very courteous but admitted she could do nothing to help us. This is the absolute worst experience at a golf course and is in my opinion the most poorly managed golf course in the Houston area. In the midst of all this, not once was I offered even a free round of golf for my inconvenience. All in all, we sat in a broken down golf cart for over an hour. My son and I played one more hole as we walked back to the clubhouse... which was completely closed and locked up by that time. I advise everyone to avoid this place at all cost. It's a shame too because it looked like the golf course was decent. But any place that has such poor customer service doesn't deserve patronage. read more

First off, this course could be excellent if it was kept up. Unfortunately it was like playing from concrete over 98% of the course. The tee boxes are not level, and the fairways look like what's left of a mine field. The greens were hard as a rock and super fast. On the up side, it only cost me $9.00 for green fee and cart, so I didn't expect too much. I may return just for the fun of it but it's not a place where you'd want to bring customers or clients. read more

Just played the course this weekend and it's not bad. Issues are the rough is very poorly graded and the course is short with 90 degree doglegs almost forcing you to take it over houses. The course is short from the whites and decent length from the golds. All in all a nice inexpensive golf course. read more

One word...HORRIBLE! Back nine is better than front. We couldn't get to Club House fast enough. Too bad the signage sucks and if you are not familiar with course you will have to ask someone to help you find it. Follow the 90 degree rule so you don't get whiplash, vertigo, motion sickness from driving on the raggedy Fairway. CAUTION: the greens are hard and fast. Club house smells, but staff is nice. Great effort was put in the renovation of this golf course. It looks great, it is fun and challenging at the same time. Very accessible to 288. Some people still aren't sure that they can come and play play here because it was known to be a private course. The fact is it is privately owned but open to the public and public play is very welcome. Give it a try! read more

Played here last week of Feb. This course is for the average to good golfer. Grass on the Greens was barely "ok" and many greens had some bare spots. The fairways are like washboards but not too bad. I wont play this course again until the greens are in better shape. read more

I golfed this course yesterday as there was a system coming through and I wanted to get a quick 18 in. I had no great expectations after reading the reviews here, and my expectations were met. It was easy to find, but I had problems booking on line so called the course direct. The on line booking fee for the 2:30 tee time was $20, when I arrived I was quoted $27.50 with the tax, and range balls were $3 extra. A small complaint resulted in a free bag of range balls but no drop in the fee. I asked the staff, since this was my first time to play the course if he had any tips for playing and all I got was "hit em straight". Not really much help. The cart girl was supposed to be on the course and I did see her on #3, but that was the last sight I had. I tipped her a couple of bucks when I bought my beer and said to remember me on the next round. Guess she forgot. My score would have been better if it were not for the fact that about 1/3 of the frees appeared to have sand traps in the, really sad, and in-playable, worse than if they had just been punched and sanded. If you have a bad back you shouldn't be playing golf, probably, but if you tried on this course you may have ended up in traction afterward. This is an old course and the shape of the cart path shows it, almost offroad style with all the concrete damage. The tee boxes were just as the reviewers above said, uneven, with very few level spots on the, and so hard that trying time after time to insert my tee resulted in e being lightheaded from bending over for so long. It's a good thing there was a 90 degree rule in effect, if you tried to drive down the fairway you would have been tossed out of the golfcart due to the uneven fairway. If I am going to play in this area again I think I will try another venue first. When returning my cart key to the pro shop I mentioned the problems and all that was said was "we know, and are working on it". The club must be broke because it appears they have been working on these issues for a year with no results. read more
