Rude, condescending, and not worth your time or money. If you're a woman looking for gear, or common respect, look elsewhere. The most dismissive, unprofessional fitting I've ever experienced. First off this store has walls of men's golf shoes and barely a dozen for women. I arrived early for a 7:00 fitting, was ignored past my appointment, and when help finally came I was told to "just buy a box set" because custom clubs were "much more expensive"--without even asking my budget. I explained I wanted a proper fitting since my swing has changed, but instead I was talked down to, shown a men's chart, handed a club in two minutes, and met with eye-rolling when I asked if this was the fitting process. At that point I politely said "I am just going to leave", the employee told me, "Yes, you should.go" I was floored...am I in the twilight zone? The manager was no better--dismissive and more concerned about closing time than addressing the issue. The entire experience was demeaning, unprofessional, and insulting. I'll buy my new gear elsewhere--it's their loss. read more

Just purchased my first set of clubs at a very reasonable price from here! I walked into the place and immediately saw two workers who appeared to be greeters at the door who didn't acknowledge me. No worries. I walked to the back of the store and again walked around looking and saw three other associates talking behind a desk in what I'm confident was not business critical as they were laughing, etc. I walked by them multiple times and not ask if I needed any help. I was cool without them acknowledging me as I was just exploring at the time. When I approached the desk and asked for help with selecting a new beginner set, the gentleman that took a pause out of the three came from behind the desk and was very helpful. Selected a reasonably priced set, gloves, explained several things to me, and asked if I needed help carrying all the stuff I purchased. The cashier was very nice and reminded me to use hand sanitizer, made a couple friendly jokes/banter as I was checking out. The place has other things to offer such as simulation, lessons, etc. I was not informed or offered any information about these services. Being new to the sport, I would have taken advantage of some services but didn't feel welcomed. A missed opportunity on the stores part but that's fine. I got what I came for and confident I found lessons and a simulator to help me learn golf at another place at a cheaper price. customer service with attention to details and listening pays dividends! Staff were very friendly and attentive, unlike I had read in other recent reviews. They had a decent variety of women's golf apparel, about 1/4 of the store. Way more to select from than Dick's Sports Golf section. Gentleman checking me out asked if I had a Dick's Sports reward or coupon, which is how I learned Golf Galaxy is the same company as Dick's Sports. Gave 3 stars because lights in women's fitting rooms are out. The only light is a dim light attached to the mirrors. It's literally darker in the fitting room than it would be at the end of a twilight round of golf! When I asked a women working there who had checked to see if I needed anything, she said the electricity over the women's fitting area has been out for some time and apologized for the lack of lighting. Hopefully women's fitting room gets some lights soon so you can see what you are trying on better! Another woman shopping stepped out to the main floor area for every outfit she tried so she could see the colors but there weren't any mirrors outside of the fitting room to look at what you were trying. read more

We stopped in curious about the store. We've never been to one and had heard they had simulators and thought it might be worth checking out. Upon walking in there was no one in the store to help us find where to go. We were ignored by several staff in the back by the simulators as we walked by. The cherry on top was when I was adjusting the tee mat in the simulation area because I was hitting a safety net with my club on my backswing. An employee came over and rudely scolded me for doing what I've done on a driving range many times before. After this, we took our cue to leave. Never again, Golf Galaxy. You can keep your exorbitant pricing and smug attitude all to yourself. read more

i had a great experience getting fitted and directed toward a set of irons that were best for me. I had waited, just short of four weeks, and thought I would call to see if I could get some help finding out the status of my clubs. I called on Monday, March 7 and was greeted by an eager, willing to help representative, who looked up my information and promised to call on the 8th. I waited until 24 hours had passed and called back. Another man answered, looked up my information and assured me someone would call tomorrow. Why did the first guy just say, 'hey man, i am going to tell you i will call back but don't really mean it." I spent almost a thousand dollars for that sort of dismissive service. Great store, an awesome amount of resources from which to choose, but do they really care? It is too bad that their support staff does not share the interest that their golf professionals clearly possess. The reality is, like it or not, no other golf store can offer the merchandise , expertise or technology that they have. I guess we just have to accept being less valuable to them after money has changed hands. read more

Experienced the absolute worst customer service ever shopping in my life, recently at the Golf Galaxy Castleton location. I will never return to this store. I urge anyone looking for golf Eq. to avoid this store and go anywhere else. I have never been treated more rudely in any customer experience in my life. I will be returning the items purchased and contacting corporate to file a complaint. There are so many other places to shop for what they offer, it is a real shame to hear about so many people having the same experience. I feel sorry for anyone that goes into this store, I'd urge anyone to seek alternatives to the Golf Galaxy Castleton location. Customer service is not dead, it just is at this location. Just about anything you could wish for in the golf department that would want other than the smell of the grass. The prices are pretty high, but I wouldn't expect any less with all this selection under one roof. There are some deals to be had on marked down items, used clubs, and sales, but the real value is in getting to try out the club's before you buy them. read more

Great looking store. Laid out in a much more interesting way than the old store. Seemed to be pretty good customer service. I found help when I needed it...which is what I like. I don't like tag alongs. Friendly accessibility works for me. My one and only beef would be the pricing. Probably and industry wide thing...but for example .199.00 for a pair of cheaply made synthetic running shoe style cleatless gold shoes seems exorbidant. The look of the store and apparel displays is well done and quite tempting...but I don't want to buy the store...I just want to look nice ! Again...perhaps an industry wide issue...but maybe a newer model of good prices early in season might improve sales...who knows. I just know that I do not know I'll do like I usually do and wait til those shoes go on sale ! read more

Be warned! Terrible attitudes of the staff. My father in-law needed a new shaft on his golf club. A guy in the back helped us but was incredibly grumpy. All of the staff in the back seemed to hate being there. Walking through the store was fine. Store was clean and had a good selection of items. We got up to the cash registers and their attitudes were just as piss poor up front. I witnessed one cashier giving a customer attitude for trying to exchange an item. The customer had to explain multiple times what they were trying to do as the cashier actually began to raise his voice at the customer! Then our turn came to check out. A woman was ringing up our items. My father-in-law asked if they offered a veterans discount (as plenty of other retailers do) and she snobbishly replied with "nope." The answer wasn't what upset him, it was her tone. As we were walking away after paying for the items, he read a sign about the member points reward card for Dicks sporting goods also worked for Golf Galaxy. He asked if he was able to use it now. Her response as she rolled her eyes, "well it's too late now." AWFUL ATTITUDE! I definitely won't be returning here after the attitudes we witnessed from multiple employees. read more

Wow what a beautiful golf shop and we live in So. Cal with Golfsmith, Roger Dunn, and PGA Superstore. Fast service, well stocked, and organized. Had to get some grips, FootJoy rain vest, rain gloves and tried not to buy too much gear. It was merchandised so well. Had to return a $29 item once we came back to So. Cal and our local Dick's sporting goods store gladly accepted. read more

Service is spotty. No shopping carts to put your items in. Checkout was just a nasty experience. Clerk wanted to know if I wanted to donate to their charity, I said, no thanks. She then said, well would you at least 'top off' your dollar amount? My bill was $42.80 so I guess she wanted me to give .20! Note to retail establishments...let me decide where my charitable donations go. read more
