I recently received a gift card to the store and used some of it to purchase a new iron shaft. After waiting for over a month they told me the order from golf works was still processing. This was my first visit to this location near the Oakwood Mall. There is plenty of parking in front of the store. Employees are pleasant and helpful. All of us that play the GAME have encountered the ultimate prick, the guy that walks up on the first tee and, even though he has never made 2 pars in a row, is ultimately tricked out. He has the latest clubs, he has a 5 Dollar Cigar, he has the newest app on his newest phone, and he looks at you as WAY less than worthy of sharing the tee with him. I met this guy! He was trying to sell me golf clubs (even though he didn't think I was worthy of owning them) at Golf Galaxy today!!!!! I went with a dear friend on Sunday and we hit some clubs, we went back today to BUY those clubs. The bald headed imbecile that we had the sad misfortune to meet at the door convinced me that I will NEVER set foot in Golf Galaxy again! I ordered the clubs at Austads, I wasn't even humiliated in the process! WOW! Golf is humiliating in and of itself without having a self important sales clerk insult my knowledge of what I want to achieve in the game of golf. My intelligence is insulted on a daily basis by the media, I don't need a sales clerk at minimum wage making a buying experience into this kind of nightmare. read more

I've had nothing but great experiences at this Golf Galaxy! They do great club work. I've had a ton of club work done and I've never had a problem. I am pretty sure they are required to use PGA Value guide prices for most used items they have for sale, but I've found some great deals, and the prices seem to be competitive with online prices (but you actually get to test the club in store) Most important, the employees are knowledgeable, helpful, and happy to help! I went into the store for the first time several years ago. A month or so after that I visited again, they remembered me and stopped to chat and ask about the item I had purchased during my previous visit. I've seen other reviewers make disparing remarks, but as the saying goes, there are two sides to every story... I would love to hear (from the employees perspective) about the customer who wanted to play them for $1,000! Or the one who used their facilities for free practice but didn't want to ask for help, and expected the employees to know exactly what he needed. I have been to Golf Galaxy Omaha many times and more often than not it has been a negative experience. From the disinterested sales staff to the overt sexism, I always leave angry and having to talk to my high school age daughter about how not to allow herself to be treated as or made to feel less than,.. ever. Purchasing golf clubs is an investment and upon asking to hit clubs the salesman was clearly put out that my daughter - who is a very capable golfer - wanted to hit several brands of clubs. He literally said with great annoyance, they are all basically the same... I was astounded. After trying to politely disagree, he reluctantly taped up 3 brands of clubs. * They have every brand ready to demo (no tape) in men's- but literally 1 women's brand and a club level that is for beginners with a slow to moderate swing speed.... but they are all the same? Yet somehow the men's aren't? Apparent by the 100 clubs ready to demo. As he was taping, he asked her about her current clubs and what distance she hit with her 7... when she told him, his response implied he didn't believe her and he was incredibly condescending. I have been a customer at Golf Galaxy for years and drive there even though I have closer golf stores to me. Nothing really against the other stores, but unlike other reviews, I got helpful service and got fitted for clubs and had them custom made. So the several salespeople that worked with me were helpful and knowledgeable. read more

If only the pimple-faced puke that blatantly refused to help me had enough guts to challenge me to 18 holes for $1,000, I might have walked out less than pissed off. But I guess since he "works" here he probably does not know what a grand looks like. I don't know what it is about Golf Galaxy, but if I was a manager here I would fire just about everyone. All they do is stand around and talk to each other. You have to go out of your way to get some attention, and then they give you an attitude for interrupting their daydream! I came in with all intentions of buying a Scotty Cameron putter, and even after a full hour of trying the other brands that were sitting around, nobody had the courtesy to ask me if I needed any help. The Cameron's are locked up because they're expensive, I did not even get a chance to hit one of them! And why do they need to be locked up in the first place? You have $275 Ping Ansers and Nike Methods sitting out, does the extra $25-75 really make that much of a difference? To top things off, I had to wait at the register for five minutes just to buy a box of balls. No trip would be complete without a harassing spiel about becoming a special "club" member so they can fill your mailbox with junk. To hell with these idiots, I will never come back! read more

Although the other reviews may be true, I had a positive experience. They gave me the best price in town, matching both other Omaha retailer's deals. Dropped $100 off the price off a set of new irons. Although others had a bad experience, at least give them a shot. read more

I go to Golf Galaxy often, and never had much of a problem dealing with the staff as opposed to the two previous yelpers. Yes it is true they don't run laps around the store and hunt down customers, but in all honesty I prefer they leave me be until I see something I want. Everytime I have walked up with questions they have been more than happy to help. Aside from that, the layout of the store is pretty standard for golf chains. They have a putting section, a decent size section for irons, wedges, woods, etc all located on the right of the store. The apparel section is in the middle with brands like nike, slazenger, puma, and under armor. The back of the store has their club-fitting area. I have not personally used it, but one of my friends has custom fitted clubs with them and gave no complaints. The left side of the store is where bags, shoes, and golf training aids are located. Prices are standard retail with sales every now and then. Since they are owned by Dick's Sporting Goods they have the "preferred customer" mailing list. Its not much of a problem I just sign up then unsubscribe to the spam mail. I mainly use it to get my receipts emailed as opposed to printed. All in all its not a bad store, but as far as chain golf stores in Omaha, I prefer this one. read more

I'm an avid golfer and shop for golf apparel and supplies at various retailers but I have to give props to Golf Galaxy for providing an outstanding customer service experience today. I bought a putter about 18 months ago from this store and through wear and tear, the webbing on the club face was starting to come off. Knowing, it was under warranty, I took it in to have it replaced/fixed. They informed me that the manufacturer takes about 7-10 business days to send back a new or refurbished, replacement. I asked the store associate helping me (Matt), if it was possible to get a faster turnaround as I have a golf trip planned in the next week. Matt, without missing a beat, said just go pick one out and use it for your trip, we will have your putter fixed when you get back and you can swap them back out! I was blown away!
