Moved in on a Sat. to find the floors and counters in the kitchen not cleaned- I ended up cleaning them myself as my movers were coming the next day with my furniture - what was really bad was the disappointment of the cabinets in the kitchen - the outside had a sticky greasy film all over them - I contacted the property manager about the issue and she came over - she says a cleaning crew will come over and clean them - still waiting to get that set up. Been her a month and the master bathroom above the shower head leaking from upstairs - waiting to get that fixed. read more

For the record I KNEW her little "we are so sorry" thing here was a lie to make potential new residence think maybe this was a one off situation. Nope, it's a lie. Let's see what's happened in the last month. Dishwasher had not really been working so I stopped using it for a week. Two weeks ago maintenance came and said they were ordering a part. It's been two freakin weeks. It takes TWO weeks to get a part? I could probably order it from Amazon and have it here tomorrow. Now I the ice maker is broken. I've got another ticket in but no word and doubt it will get fixed anytime soon. They have our money and lease. They don't have to care anymore. Funny they sent out these extremely aggressive emails telling the residents that we are having a fire extinguisher inspection and if we don't comply then we will be fined $50. Oh but then they took 3 days to actually get around to finishing it, so their time schedule is all that matters. I bet if I sent them a bill for not getting anything fixed in a timely manner, they'd not pay it. Yeah, again they don't care about the tenants. They already have us so who cares now. They can just fine us for whatever THEY think isn't timely but we are told OVER AND OVER that WE have to be patient. Why should I have to be patient. Them not keeping staff isn't my fault. Don't even consider this place. The administration staff is rude and inexperienced. They only care about renting the place and collecting rents. The place is in decay and badly maintaned. The garbage collection dumps are extremely dirty and infested. I have always seen garbage thrown around and dirty mattresses laying for days at the garbage dump. The grounds and houses are infested with snakes and cockroaches. I have seen a snake many times coming out from under the ground slab of my apartment. The administration never cared. The construction is very cheap and ugly. You will never get your safety deposit back. They will invent anything not to refund it. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could. There is an AC unit on the roof of my apartment. When the unit is on there is an electronic buzz/drone that reverberates through the ceiling and the walls of my bedroom. It only happens then the weather is warm. However, it isn't coming from personal AC Unit in the apartment. When it is buzzing and droning through the night I cannot sleep in my bed I have to sleep on the couch where the noise is less. The management keeps saying the unit is fine and there is nothing they can do about the noise. It is affecting my sleep and I am getting headaches from the noise which is amplified through the night. read more

I had given my deposit of $1065 to move in. The day I was to move in my car broke down. I contacted Jessica to let her know and asked if we could move my move in date. Her email back was "Hello Deanna,   I cannot move the date out.  Could you please advise of what timeframe your thinking of moving in?  I can apply your deposit to the wait list?    Please give me a call or shoot me an email with your decision. " So because she said no to moving my move in date I said then I guess cancel. I then had a family come down with Covid and was hospitalized and later passed. So naturally in that time I did not look at my emails. When all was calm and I checked my emails I saw that she emailed a response to say..."Hello Deanna,    I want to inform you that if you cancel, you are forfeiting your deposit.  Would you like to proceed with the cancellation?    Please advise.  Once I read this I responded and also emailed to general questions and tried calling to explain for my lack of response and that had i had seen this email I would have for sure asked her to put me on a wait list. Well days later of my constant emails and phone calls dating June 27 to today!! Jessica Finally called to tell me they will not give me the deposit back to move in!!! So now I am in a bind. Thank you Golf Villas for being yet another great-looking complex and making my decision-making in the future difficult. Besides the adjacent Canada Hills golf course, you may be fooled that this is another run of the mill complex. After seeing the place driving down the road for as long as I can remember, I certainly thought that. There's a lot more going on in those taupe buildings than meets the eye from the street, trust me. The friendly leasing agent who conducted the tour put a lot of effort into laying out the info and showing the amenities. The two bedroom/two bath Catalina model (I think) shown, was a unique and cleverly designed plan. It was not shaped like a perfect square or rectangle but rather an overall irregular shape, and that gave it a great personality. Standouts were that all rooms were generously-sized and that both bathrooms weren't dinky, as well as an available laundry nook and exterior storage closet. The kitchen had a window, which I liked. It was also conservative when it came to trendy finishes as an additional plus. I prefer mostly carpet for acoustics and aesthetics purposes, and this complex delivered. Kudos are also deserved for the staging as it felt just like a model home. You can tell they had an interior designer come in and take care of even the finest of details. The grounds are going to be more on the stereotypical Oro Valley side, with mostly gravel and native plants, but the golf course is nearby as a supplement, as are the mountains. The clubhouse and its amenities were a knockout and the whole place smelled of eucalyptus. This is another area where it was evident a lot of effort was made. Grilling facilities are nearby. Both pool areas were impressive with the most impressive for me being the ones with the flat screen TVs. Did I mention there is also a putting green? Nice feature! Neighborhood almost cannot be better. You're within walking distance of grocers, drug stores, and dining establishments, and right next door to the OV library, municipal offices and police department. Due to this complex's proximity to OVPD, I'd imagine crime is next to nil. For golf aficionados, this place is right on a golf course. Is Golf Villas a winner? In my book, you betcha. There's a lot going on here and it's spectacular. My decision making has gotten that much more difficult. read more

I have lived at the Golf Villas for about a year and a half. Lets start with the positives: it has beautiful views, it is pet friendly, they offer 6 month leases, and they also have an amazing maintenance crew. The love stops there. This is marketed as "luxury condos/apartments" and there is nothing luxury about Formica counter tops and thin carpeting. I have to tell you the honest truth, this place is severely mis-managed. The staff are well meaning but never know what is what and it takes days to get an answer back. I have been given no notice when maintenance needs to do inspections/change filters etc. We needed to extend our lease by a month because of our closing process on our home and so we spoke to them a month before our term was up and unfortunately our leasing agent wasn't there so the nice staff member said she would give her the message. Apparently our leasing agent didn't care to let us know that she had gotten the message and yes it was okay, because it took us showing up in person 2 days later to finally get an answer. Also beware, if you rent here and then try to purchase a house they will charge you $50 to verify you rented there and that you are up-to-date on payments. The staff told me "It's funny- we don't charge this if you're renting elsewhere, just if you're buying a house" it sounds very fishy to me. read more

We have lived here for three years and have recently been looking at other rentals in Oro Valley. No other complex can beat the setting and the truly great views from our apartment. However, the complex needs some serious investment in an aging property. Plumbing issues and very poor water quality which is absolutely not fit to drink out of the tap is ignored and not being addressed. Landscaping in front of rental office and model is very well kept but landscaping is almost non-existent everywhere else in the complex because the shrubs and trees that die are not replaced. This complex is well over 30 years old....most of the landscape is very dismal and is neglected by landscape crews. The result is that you don't feel like your walking into a luxury apartment. WHY 4 STARS? You pay for a luxury apartment for view,amenities, living space yes...but to us, we pay for service, dependable staff that is responsive, respectful of our requests and always get things done. Staff that know the residents and takes pride in providing service that exceeds expectations. Josh, the maintenance manager, and his team are why we stay. Not just meeting but exceeding expectations is why we pay the top dollar for rental property and they deliver every day. The only thing "luxury" about these apartments is the price! We paid the fee to terminate our lease early, according to terms, because we couldn't stand all the deferred maintenance at this place. During our 8 months there, we tolerated 2 roof leaks, a washing machine break down, a stove break down, a dishwasher whose lower rack wheels and base plate kept falling off, and a kitchen faucet that ran water several seconds after shutoff. We were told, "That's just how they work around here." We then paid for and replaced it with one that worked properly. You're welcome Golf Villas! We also replaced the furnace air filters with decent ones that fit hoping to improve our allergies. They just cut up cheap ones that don't fit. Hot water was inconsistent. I've never seen a water heater with that much corrosion and still in use. The tubs both needed re-coating or replacing so they were hard to clean. The master tub had mold in the caulk and jets that you couldn't clean out. Needless to say, the whirlpool in the tub was a "luxury" feature we did not use. We had to take this unit "sight unseen" as we were moving across the country. Had I seen the condition, the cheap kitchen flooring that curls around the perimeter, and the carpet with wear spots and wrinkles where it needed re-stretching we would have rented somewhere else (as you should unwary renters). The only good thing I can say is that the maintenance staff responds quickly. read more

Hate it! We canceling our lease!! Definitely are warning family and friends not to live here! The only thing that you'll be getting that's luxury is the price tag. That's it what luxury apartment doesn't have a gate entrance and not maintenance grounds. Lower level pools a total mess dirty and disgusting!! Won't let my kids swim in it it was full of bugs eww! "They're doing remodeling on it in the meantime it a huge eyesore." Who takes that long to do remodeling it's summer for crying out loud in Arizona!! The upper pools a joke... My kiddo have a bigger kid pool than that. They make excuses in the office for everything. There's no parking at all for residents that live at the lower level what nonsense. Not assigned parking for everyone. Complete crap!!! Oh and they lied about it... The office told us we will have it in a month for you BIG lies... You're literally playing your hard earned money to live somewhere and you have to hunt down a parking spot every day you come home from a hard day of work or not get one. That's the biggest nonsense. I've ever seen!! Please would it be so hard for them to put assigned parking with some paint with a number or a sign up in the meanwhile for your assigned parking for your apartment!! That's the biggest reason why we canceling our lease!!! Also contacted the office about this issue no help. I warned you do not live here unless you want to put up with that kind of unacceptable behavior!!! With cheap old appliances that will break and that are old and not maintained. Pop and whining make sounds all night long! I've never live in an apartment complex where the lights are literally out over the complex especially at the lower level. I've counted at least five outdoor lights stairs entry lights that are out too in front of Apt . What do they not check things at nighttime and timers to see if lights are coming on or off. Oh and we've contacted the office numerous times about the issue is it fixed NO! Laziness and not diligence work. It makes the place look cheap lower class and it's dangerous for our kids when they walk and play also attracts criminals. Don't believe me move in and have a nightmare of your own... Oh and not to mention. People are disgusting here filling the trash to the point that it overflows. There's debris and garbage around the trash can does the maintenance and janitorial staff clean it up no! They just leave it and that's very gross. It's a unappealing look disgusting and it smells. Well its been a month since my building had some exterior stucco repairs, and the mess around my patio has not been cleaned up, the large pieces of stucco, dust, dirt and debris is still right where the repair people left it, rendering my patio a unusable mess, and I have been in constant contact with Sergio, the new Jessica, who is not anymore willing to resolve issues here, from the mess on my patio, to residents not picking up their dog poop. They do not want to be involved with resident issues, so now the police are called over issues, such as music, loud talkers out on their patios. They cancel and reopen maintenance issues so their books and reviews look good, I went without a bathroom sink for 3 days, ugh unacceptable in this high priced, over priced , old worn out complex inside the apts, and out, except for their model,, don't be fooled. They removed the fans from my apt. Their lobby is beautiful, pool and fitness area updated and new, they are friendly before you sign the lease, after that smoke and mirrors,,,, your on your own. The maintenance crew wants to work and do a good job, but the management here stinks, nice to your face, and that's where it ends. Without the view,, its not worth the rent. They know it, but in this economy and state running out of housing, they have us by the butt., the management knows it and doesnt care if you live here and like it or not, another unknowing person is waiting,,,,, for now, soon they will out price the average person, and be happy with the wealthy, elderly, that complain, but dont have the energy to stand up for themselves. Management is ineffective in dealing with inconsiderate neighbors. I have lived here for four years and never had a problem until a weightlifter moved in below me. He constantly drops his weights, many times after 10 PM. I have complained on many occasions and managements response is that I should call the police. Do you really think the police are going to sit in my apartment and wait for this guy to drop his weights. To management's credit, they did offer to let me move to another apartment in the complex; but why should I give up my great view and go to the hassle and cost of moving. Are they gong to pay for it - and are they going to make me sign another one year lease to move? why would I want to subject myself to living in a complex that does not take care of it's reliable tenants, and does not deal with the problem ones. read more

Great getaway about 20 minutes from downtown. Found these condos through the US Airways/Travelocity site. Got a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo with full kitchen, laundry, living room and patio for $84.00 per night which I am sure is just a "It's freakin hot near the border in the summer" rate. Rooms seemed clean although one of my traveling companions found a used bar of soap in their shower along with 2 dirty plates stuck together in the cupboards. My only complaint was that the condo had obviously been smoked in by a previous guest. The setting in the foothills on a golf course was pretty and quiet. There are the standard hotel amenities such as exercise room, at least two pools with spas. I believe there is dining somewhere at the golf course but I did not seek it out. I would stay here again if I was in the area. read more

I moved to Golf Villas about 3 yrs ago and things were beautiful and well run. Since then, there have been new office staff in place and maintenance staff changed over as well. Things do not run as smoothly anymore and I have encountered AND observed some rather unpleasant interactions with office staff (rude, condescending, and argumentative) Also, there seem to be new policies in place that were not before and whether that is because the former staff did not follow I am unsure. However, I can attest to the fact that the management company has some practices in place that will nickle and dime you over and over again for "convenience fees" which can be attributed to either the use of a check to pay your rent or money orders. Additionally, if you pay your rent online, you have to pay "another fee" that they say is set by the credit card company and it is much higher, upwards of $100 or more. If you take into consideration all of the tenants renting and there are 400 units, the company is making thousands of dollars in "convenience fees" IF you are paying online, you are paying a lot more to rent a less than adequate apartment labeled as a luxury. The apts have old appliances in them and if they replace anything it is with a cheaper version, which ultimately will result in the same wear out with use. You can find newer apartments around here that have brand new appliances and charge less than here. While the grounds and views are beautiful, the lack of a management team that is friendly and considerate of its tenants is missing and has been since the majority of the staff left. I think the only original one left is Sergio and he is barely here. The extra costs associated and tacked on each month are very sketchy. They always have a reason for the cost and while it may be outlined in the lease, I have been renting for years and never encountered these types of costs, routinely. From what I have read of other complexes owned by Beztak, they do this to all their properties, which is why I want people to know what you are getting into. Moving out is another headache. You can expect additional charges to be tacked on for cleaning and other maintenance, even if YOU clean. New carpet laid in my apartment was already rolling when we moved in and we were told we would be held responsible for the fees associated with having to fix. Because of their inability to hire professional and qualified carpet layers, we are held accountable and charged. Before you decide to rent, just speak with some of the tenants and ask what they love about the complex and what they don't like. Then make a decision. If additional charges being tacked on do not bother you and you want the beautiful views of the mountains and luxury of living on the golf course, then this is your place. If not, look elsewhere for that place you want to call home. No one should ever be treated like they are below another person because they are renting by the people managing or staffing the leasing office. We just stayed here for five nights and were very happy overall. Great value for the price. Just know you are not close to downtown. Unit was very clean except for the bathroom which could have used a little extra sweeping--the units show their age in the bathroom. The linens were very clean and maid service did a nice tidy every day. Kitchen stocked with cooking essentials. Views are spectacular. Request a unit on the second floor. You upstairs neighbor can be heard at all times. Also Internet is only free in the club house. Costs $7 a day in the room. I would have to say 5 stars for value, 3.5 for quality of hotel. As a new resident of Golf Villas, I 'd like to express my appreciation for the superb staff members assisting my transition to apartment living. First and foremost is the Head of the Maintenance Team, Josh Brett. He is knowledgeable, professional, thorough, respectful, and has a work ethic to be admired. His response to requests has been most impressive and his crew provides solid and energetic back-up. Brianna has been outstandingly supportive as a leasing agent and beyond. She is exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Also Sonia and Sajwa have gone out of their way to assist and answer questions. So far, my biggest issue has been with unwanted desert dwellers appearing in my apartment. Needless to say, I do appreciate the weekly presence of the exterminating team. read more

This review is for maintenance manager Josh Brett, not for the apartment complex. Josh Brett, who was on-call the weekend that our A/C stopped working (in July when it was about 110 degrees,) came on a Sunday morning, explained the problem clearly, gave us a timeline and description of what would be done to fix it, and within a couple of hours had fixed the problem. Not only did Josh resolve our problem, he changed the filter in the A/C, explained why the A/C in the master bedroom had not been working, and showed us how to adjust some of the vents so that it would work. We were not familiar with these types of vents, and Josh explained clearly how they work and taught us how to adjust them. read more

First I would like to say that I have been a resident here for over 2 years. During that time I observed the management team and maintenance team doing a great job in maintaining the property. They are a hard-working group that works for Beztak property management. My lease is coming due for renewal. Need to decide whether to go or stay. Yes, I am happy living here except for a few issues. To start with the packrat infestation has cost me over a $1000.00 was told that 3 other residents had a combined loss of $2000.00 all in the past year. This seems to only occur in the covered parking areas that are not lit up. Needless to say, that we cannot park in our assigned parking spots. Sergio said they are working on the problem. The solar-powered car portlights in front of buildings 1 and 2 one side goes off at around 11 pm and the other does not come on at all. It's been said bright lights are a very good packrat deterrent. What I find amazing is that the AC units that are over 20 years old are still working. [ high cost to use ] What sounds like an oxymoron statement to me is that the management at the Golf Villas and at Beztak property management said that they really appreciate their residents and would encourage them to renew their leases. Last year my lease was increased 3% this year they want to increase my lease by more than 10%. Why, because of the apartments in the surrounding area have greatly increased their rental prices. They call this keeping up with recent market price increases. They have 281 apartments here at the Golf Villas. I can not understand how raising my rent that much at one time can make any difference to their bottom line unless they want me to move out so the rent can be jacked up on a new Tennant. There are a list of things I could say but the biggest is the air conditioning unit is some thing from a century ago! In the summer my air conditioning would never go down past 84 Fahrenheit no matter what I did! The management company is the worst of ever dealt with, Kristen Butler the assistant manager was the worst ever and even charge me an extra $50 when I left for the fob that I had lost and found and had to turn back in even though I was not allowed to get a refund! You can never find management always hiding in the back office with Sergio! Who I only met one time! Please reconsider and ask other neighbors before renting from this company. I don't even know where to begin. We have lived here almost a year and a half. The first year was mostly fine, tolerable is probably a good word. As others have posted, there are some seriously messed up plumbing issues. We got a call one day to stop using our kitchen sink because every time we ran water in there it was coming up the sink of our downstairs neighbor and flooding her kitchen. A few months later, we were noticing a horrendous smell in our kitchen. We discovered that there was standing poop water in our dishwasher and the dishwasher wouldn't turn on. It took 2 days for them to come to fix it. And by fix it I mean they got it to run a cycle but didn't clean it out or have any concern as to why there is poop water coming up into our dishwasher. Needless to say we don't use the dishwasher anymore. New owners took over this complex in October maybe? Not sure exactly when because residents were not made aware of this until suddenly notices began appearing on our door stating that we had to remove our holiday decor from our windows or we would be evicted. Never mind that the people living 2 staircases over have their entire front patio decorated, all the stair railings, and even the bushes on the ground. They target people who they have, for unknown reasons, decided to hate, and they make their lives a living hell with their notices and threats of eviction for the most absurd things. Another issue is that we are not allowed to have tv in this complex anymore. Unless you want to sell your soul to Comcast and pay hundreds of dollars a month just to have the Internet, then you are out of luck. When we moved in, there were satellite dishes at the majority of the apartments here. New owners came in and had them all taken down and told people they were out of luck. Directv guy asks me what kind of deal we are getting at Comcast through the apartment. Hahahahahaha that's hilarious! There is no deal. Comcast or nothing. Unfortunately we were not made aware of the new nazi owners until it was past the ridiculous 2 month notice that you have to give to move out when your lease is up, so we are stuck here living in this prison of poop water, new hideous circus paint scheme, moldy bathrooms, and cockroaches for another year. And, while taking away more and more amenities (the so called gym is ALWAYS broken and the pools are continually locked shut), they jacked up our rent after quoting us a completely different price before we went in to sign the actual lease. The list of complaints could go on for days. Save yourself the trouble and just keep on going past this hellhole. *update* This horrendous shit hole is a health hazard. Toxic black mold has been found in 3 places in our apartment now. They are trying to say there was a "leak" from the water heater which magically fixed itself. Ok, tell me how this imaginary leak caused black mold in a room that is no where near the water heater . And, from what I have heard from other former residents this mold is a common occurrence in this complex. Save yourself and your health and run screaming as fast as you can! read more

*An honest review* I moved to Tucson Sept 2015 from out of state. I researched properties prior to moving here. And took the good reviews at face value. I kept a detailed binder of all my moving expenses, lease agreements and phone conversations (as a long-distance move is tedious..) With that being said..... On my "move-in" day I arrived at the at office to pick up my keys and go over my move-in/lease agreement for a final time. After being in my apartment for less than 24 hours I get a call saying I owe an ADDITONAL $500 deposit (for my 2 dogs) and if I did not pay it by closing of SAME day I would be locked out. I thought for sure it was a mix up and didn't let myself get upset, went to the office showed them my documentation of dates, times, names of person(s) I had been working with from day 1 and the $500 was already included in my final "move-in" cost. I basically was told I was a liar....and too bad I'd be locked out if I didn't pay the $500. After a 2 day drive from Texas with all I own in a truck I had no choice but to pay it. Little did I know that this would be JUST the beginning of a string of very POOR management experiences at this property. I'll keep the rest of the review to a list....as a FULL summary would take DAYS to write. Let's start out with the positives: *Kathleen is the ONLY person in the office who knows how to treat people and will honestly check into any concerns you have. The rest of the team seems more like your 'interrupting" their day when you go into the office. On to the truths ** Working 14 hour days 5-6 days a week and paying good money to live here I have to stay at my parents house 3 days a week to get a decent night sleep. * Up keep of property grounds & common areas is SHODDY at best. The pools this summer have been NASTY & the dog feces on sidewalks, driveways & all throughout the property is disgusting! Fire pits never work, Jacuzzi isn't heated * Don't bother going to talk with management about your concerns they will smile and nod but nothing changes. * The one ON-site maintenance guy who lives on the property is 18 yrs old, (he lives above me) and is NOT held to the standards of the rest of the residents -he gets a "pass" because he is young and were "training-him". Seems to me "life-skills" training is NOT part of OTJ training (i.e. respect for neighbors, being a responsible human being & taking responsibility for self and animals) He needs to be told to spend MORE time working and less time driving his golf cart to his apartment every hour. Train him to take care of the 2 dogs he has rather than taking off for 24hrs at a time so they don't jump off the 3rd story balcony! Honestly I feel like I'm living below a fraternity house. BTW he now keeps his 2 dogs INSIDE the apartment and leaves for 24-48 hrs at a time...... and I listen to the dogs fight/cry/scratch/whine the entire time. I don't even bother calling the office anymore....it's a sad state of affairs. I think you get the idea. LOOK ELSE WHERE! DO NOT let the beauty of the golf course or mountians suck you in.....It is ABSOLUTLEY the worst apartment experience I have EVER had, and the sad thing is THEY ABSOULETLY do NOT care about their residents. We love living at Golf Villas. Located across the street from Oro Valley fitness, golf, tennis. Walking distance to great restaurants, frys, and library. The floor plan is open and spacious. Best of all the management team and maintenance crew are first rate. Best place we ever lived! read more

This has been a disaster since we first started the rental process. We have not rented an apartment from Golf Villas, and we are told after the THIRD time of talking with them, we cannot have our $400 deposit back. We were first told that there was a unit available. We looked at the model, then were taken by the unit. It had an eviction notice in the window. It appeared that someone was living there, the curtains were open and we could see items in the apartment. My boyfriend informed Lindsay that he had a work truck. Lindsay informed us that it shouldn't be a problem. If a work truck even MIGHT be an issue, shouldn't Lindsay have asked for more details about the truck?? Lindsay emailed us paperwork, but sent it to the wrong email, so that took a few days. Looking through the email, there was a form saying that if the tenant didn't leave at the time of their eviction, we could not move in, but they would put us in a different apartment, possibly a different size and cost, but the lease would stand as is. We did not feel comfortable, so we declined. We NEVER signed the paperwork. We only signed a Credit Check form, the application, and credit card form, and we were accepted within hours. Then we were told there was another unit available. So we drove up (a second time and a half hour drive) to see the other unit. Jessica, the girl working that day, told us she had already rented it. We were not thrilled, and no one bothered to call us and let us know before driving there. But she informed us that the first unit was unoccupied, and the renter had just left his things, and they would be removed and the place cleaned up before we moved in. So we said ok. My boyfriend told Jessica he had a work truck. Jessica said no commercial trucks were allowed to be parked in the parking lot, but that one guy had a work truck with a crane, and he just parked it at the grocery store down the street. Andy told her that his truck does have a logo, that it's a box truck, and that it was 8x10 feet. Jessica's exact words were that it "shouldn't be a problem." In fact, she said it twice. We gave a $400 security deposit. The following weekend, we made an appointment to sign the lease. When I walked in while my boyfriend parked the car, I said, "Andy is still worried about his work truck." Andy came in and showed Jessica a picture. "OOOOHHHH you can't park that here...." And she talked about how it would be violating the "Fair Housing Act" and that there have been issues before. If there had been issues before, this should have been talked about in DETAIL then and there. Why were we told by TWO different women that "It shouldn't be a problem?" This was a Saturday. Andy emailed Jessica the picture, and Jessica said it would take them until Monday when she or her boss would call us back and let us know if it would be ok to continue the rental process. WE had to CALL Jessica on TUESDAY. She then said, her or her boss would call us back and let us know. Guess what? I had to call AGAIN, 15 minutes before they closed. The answer was NO. We cannot rent there because they did not want the truck parked in their parking lot. And guess what else??? NO, we cannot have our deposit of $400 back, because it was over 48 hours since we gave it to them. NEVER a mention about 48 hours in all the THREE times we were there, OR in any of the paperwork we were sent (and never signed.) We were supposed to move in 17 days from now. We gave our notice to our now landlords. So now, not only do we have to scramble to find a place to live, we ALSO have to FIGHT for $400, a drop in the bucket for this very large company, and half a paycheck for my boyfriend. The third visit, we once again went over to the apartment we were now possibly going to rent. All of the tenants things were still there, and an odor was coming out of a window that was covered in aluminum foil. A bed frame was laying next to the back patio. So, they will rent to someone like this tenant, who they end up evicting, but god forbid a working man who makes plenty of $ to pay HIS rent, plus MY paycheck, rent an apartment there because of the horrible eye sore that PAYS the rent. Looking on this YELP page, I am guessing, since $400 deposit seems to be a running theme, do these girls get a commission from these deposits? We were SO excited to move there, and are heartbroken, and now incredibly stressed about finding another place in such a short amount of time, AND trying to get our $400 back. One more thing, we paid our $400 deposit on May 25. We just found out today, June 2 that we cannot lease an apartment there. ALSO, we were given a form on the 23 of May, with all of the info on what $ was due and when. (which we never signed.) On this form, it states, "Refundable Security Deposit-$400." I am at a loss for words to describe the horrible experience myself and many renters have had with the Golf Villas at Oro Valley. Instead of posting a long personal story I will simply include their recent announcement to tenants. Please bear in mind that this is only the latest rude and discourteous act on the part of management. They will be renovating apartments while they are occupied, and against the wishes of tenants. The thought of having strange people in your house for 3-5 days (some renovations have taken much longer), having to clear your kitchen, all while dust and debris cover your furniture is not my idea of "luxury living." If you are moving here, or considering moving, also consider if you want to have this experience in your luxury apartment. Here is the latest announcement to tenants: "Suggestions for residents during renovations: (Please feel free to hand on refrigerator as a reminder) *Please clear kitchen countertops & lower cabinets. *Refrigerators will be moved into living room area. No spill-able items (pen containers, etc.) Please secure any breakable items. *Please provide space for refrigerator to be placed in the dining area near an outlet *Please clear all items form top and inside of range *Please remove all items from under kitchen and bathroom sinks *Flooring in kitchen and bathroom will be replaced, please relocate trash cans, rugs or any items on floor. *Fireplace will be replaced. This may cause vibration, please relocate items from above/around/under fireplace *Please fee free to relocate or cover any items that you so desire *Please relocate pets to a bedroom/bathroom/crate during renovation" Anyone who complains is basically told "tough luck" by management, "you signed a lease." This is how sleazy Jessica and her crew are at Golf Villas. ******Horrific experience at every level. We finally got out of the place and it couldn't happen soon enough. We lived here almost 2 years. First the Good: The views or good, and the Maintenance guys are great, as they are constantly going to be at your apartment. The Bad: Old dated units. My unit had Black mold, and they just painted over it, so I always felt sick livingthere. The apartment also had a musty smell from the sewer problems, and the vets were duct taped shut, presumably to keep the rattlesnakes that frequent this complex out. Te place is also infested with pack rats, and people often had to park their cars in other locations to avoid rats. They are NOT dog friendly, unless you have a Pitbull. We were even almost evicted because the poor puppy we found abandoned on the side of the road "played too loudly", and we were given ten days to abandon the puppy, even though we paid the deposit. So we had to rent another location so the puppy could be safe. they also complained to me specifically after that incident about every little detail. They are unfair, and biased in who they target. I was sent a letter for having a sunshade, and warned I would again be evicted for Christmas lights and a shade. When I asked if "everyone" was warned, they said yes. I then asked 10 other residents, and none of them were warned, even in my same building. The harassment from management was so bad that we had to find a way out. One day I left my keys in the mailbox. When I asked the rude girl in the office (Jessica), she said they didn't have them. She didn't even look. 10 minutes later my girlfriend asked another girl who said "yes they are right here in Jessica's desk"...hmmmmm. Then it really went downhill, as all the long term residents left, claiming the same issues we were having. Apparently management wanted to shift to lower rent, less desirable tenants. I think they may be section 8 now, as we saw some severely White trash residents living there. They have rented out about a dozen units to a door to door scam company that has about 3-4 teen-aged kids living in eachunit. They are constantly racing around the parking lot and doing burnouts etc. I felt extremely unsafe there. The units are old with some minor updates. Poor plumbing after decades of neglect. My Air Conditioner went out on day 2, and it took 2 days of 90 degree heat INSIDE my apartment to get it finally repaired. Between the mold, the smell from the plumbing, and the critters you will see very frequently, it was enough. Poor management that doesn't care about their renters. Management that picks and chooses who they harass, and who they enforce their "rules " on. The only down side to leaving was that they violated the tenant / renters law by keeping some of my deposit money without a full written explanation within 14 days. I figure, with their track record, what do they care. This is by far the very worst Apartment I have ever lived in. Avoid it at all costs. For the money you can get into any of the numerous modern apartments in Oro valley with better services, newer units, and a superior facility. Renters beware....its that bad! (and the recent positive yelp review is 100% fake), as they fight to remove bad reviews. Why do you think this place has so few reviews? Be smart.....go elsewhere. I did, and it's a 100% better experience with a quality Property Company like Mark Taylor etc. I love my new place. New clean, and cheaper. read more

These are NOT luxury apartments. They don't care of the common areas. They have fire pits for the guests to use but they never work or you have to bring your own propane. They have a Jacuzzi but it's not turned on because they are trying to save money.They have tvs in the common area but you can only use them from the hours of 9-3pm...but i work during the day so how is that of any benefit to me? The pools aren't cleaned regularly. The maintenance are never at your apartment when they say they will be there. I'm not sure what paying for here. As soon as my lease is up I'm gone. Great location. Horrible management. I had a medical condition that required me to break my lease. They were very unaccomadating even with a 30 day move out notice. There was a lot of hidden move out charges (they charged me $100 for 2 missing pool keys that they could easily replace.) Instead of setting up a payment plan, which is what most property management companies do with a broken lease, they send you remaining bill to collections right away!!! We stayed in a furnished short-term rental for the month of April 2016. The units are older and not in very good condition. We had to have the maintenance people come in and address several issues that should have been in order before the unit was rented. The fan in the living room was badly out of balance. It was eventually discovered that the bolt that held the fan to the mount was loose and almost ready to come out. The air conditioning stopped working on a Friday night and we had to have a special maintenance call on Saturday AM to fix it. There were stains on the sofa cushions and we had to request that the sofa be shampooed. When we moved in we discovered sugar ants in the kitchen. The pest control people were called but their treatment was ineffective. We had to go out and buy ant spray at the hardware store to control the ants. The actually oven temperature was much hotter than indicated on the control and burned food resulted. The toaster did not work properly and had to be replaced. It took two or three attempts every time to get the electronic door lock on the front door to open. The units are not well constructed and as a result you can hear water running and people talking in the next unit. The television in the living room did not get the same channels as the TV's in the two bedrooms - it received fewer channels and did not change channels properly. Multiple attempts to correct this were not entirely successful. The lower pool area is lovely but the pool always had debris in it, and the hot tub was cloudy on more than one occasion - not properly maintained. We cut our visit short and were happy to leave. read more
