All the drinks here are delicious! I got the lychee oolong tea with lychee pearls and it was so refreshing. The smoothies are super yummy as well. The service was great and all our drinks came out super fast. I also recommend getting the mango lychee green tea, but ask for less sugar if you like the stronger tea flavor like me. First time having Gong Cha. I got the Earl Grey Milk tea with 3 J. 3J means it has three different kinds of jelly in the drink: pearls, grass jelly and lychee jelly. OMG that is too much stuff in a drink. I feel like that was more of a meal than a drink. I came with colleagues and they told me that Gong Cha is known for their Earl Grey Milk Tea. It is highly recommended here. For all their drinks, you have the options to choose how much ice you want and on top sweetness. I feel like this is the new standard with all the chain bubble tea places or bubble tea places that come from Taiwan. Yes Gong Cha originated from Taiwan and it has locations around the world. I highly recommend coming here for bubble tea. Their service was pretty quick. For them to make a cup of bubble tea either L or regular size, it takes them about 3 to 5 mins. They are located in Chinatown and they do have multiple competitions in the area. If they are able to survive than that means they are good. Decor is nice. They do have a few tables and chairs. I usually love this place it's super good and yummy. When I went to order the lady had headphones on but I said my order like always. I ordered the drink Oreo pearl milk tea. She later prepared my drink and did not give me what I ordered it was a brown sugar pearl milk tea. I thought they changed the look and let it slide but it did not taste like Oreo at all. This place is pretty great and my kids have tried bubble tea all over the world and they said this is one of their favourites but one of the best things is the price... One of my favorite bubble tea place has finally opened in Calgary. I ordered the Earl Grey with 3J (Pearls, Grass Jelly and Pudding). It taste great and the 3J compliments well with the drink and providing various texture. The service was adequate for their opening so my visit went smoothly. My concern was the extra charge for no ice which was new to me and the earl grey tasted a bit watered down so it wasn't as tasty as i anticipated (maybe because of the ice? Calgary's first Gong Cha is located across the street from the Chatime in Chinatown. I visited on a Friday night and they were pretty busy but not crazy busy. The staff were pleasant and drinks were ready in a reasonable amount of time! I tried the mango and lychee green tea which I enjoyed, it didn't have too much of an artificial syrupy taste like some other flavoured green teas can have. The price was reasonable, my Large size with pearls came out to $5.50! The panda milk tea seemed to be pretty popular and Gong Cha is on board with the "milk foam" trend that's common with other bubble tea chains. They only have 3 tables so it's more of a to go kind of joint. I would definitely come back for the fruit tea! For milk tea, I'm loyal to Chatime's roasted milk tea but will have to come back to Gong Cha to try theirs as well. read more

I have been here numerous times for milk tea. They have an extensive menu and my drink has always been made correctly. They give you the option to modify the sugar and ice and make sure that your drink is ordered exactly how you want it. They also sell waffles. Love this place downtown, everytime I'm near this place I order mango latte, winter melon foam I usually order lowest sugar as it already sweet, or there panda foam. I really wanted to like this place when they first came to Calgary. I tried the winter melon drink and mango. I didn't expect much out of the mango because it's not something they're known for but the mango flavour just seemed completely off. The wintermelon was extremely sweet as well. read more

I went during the soft opening and I'm really liking the BBT here! I had the passionfruit green tea - it was very tasty and I appreciated the little passionfruit seeds in it as well. I later ordered the earl grey and it tasted less strong than other earl greys I've had despite my lack of ice. It was also a bit too sweet for my preference (and I only ordered 30% sugar!). Pearls are always perfectly cooked. Not too soft and not overly sweet. Nice and chewy! But they always run out at night.

I love it! The unique thing about Gong Cha is that their bubble tea actually taste like tea. If you're a huge tea lover, you will live this place.
