Last night, the arm fell off of my eyeglasses. That arm had been loose. I could not find the screw. I do not have a spare of glasses with the same prescription; only a pair from 8 years ago that have a weaker prescription. I feared that it might take a week to have them replaced during the era of COVID-19. I need my glasses to work at the computer. I did a search and found Goo Goo Goggles that repaired eyeglasses. I sent in an online request last night. This morning, I had a reply and an appointment time later in the morning. I am just returning from my visit to Goo Goo Goggles. I was greeted at the door by Sam, who took my glasses and worked on them while I waited outside. (For those reading this in the future, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the norm for most establishments.) After about 10 minutes, my glasses were ready. The arm was reattached and was no longer loose! They are like new. I tried to pay, but was told that it was on them. This might not be your experience, but I was very impressed with the service. Five stars isn't enough to rate my experience with Goo Goo Goggles. My nearly new glasses kept falling apart and all the dealer I bought them was willing to do was to repeatedly adjust them, leaving me back where I started about every two weeks. The folks at GGG quickly resolved the underlying problem. The original vendor had built these frameless glasses without the necessary plastic washers to separate the metal hardware from the lenses. GGG replaced all the hardware with the correct materials and then amazed me by doing it for free, even though I had purchased the glasses elsewhere. After cataract surgery, I needed a new lens in my glasses. As a senior on a limited budget, I phoned around for the best price. I assumed Costco would be a good start. Not so. Goo Goo was by far the most economical. The whole experience was delightful. I was treated like a queen! The shop reminds me of a candy store for frames. The customer service representatives were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I was called for updates for my orders, and appreciated the generous time the staff took meeting my needs. I recently bought a new pair of glasses here and was very satisfied with their work and the friendliness of the staff so when my wife needed new glasses we went back. We purchased frames and lens for her after cataract surgery. The lens were fine but the frames turned out to be too heavy and uncomfortable so we went back several times to have them adjusted. Still uncomfortable to wear so they suggested another lighter frame. We chose a new one and have just received the new glasses; more satisfactory! The staff spent considerable time working with us to find the best solution and, when we chose new frames, they provided them as a straight across exchange with no additional cost. I don't wear the glasses I got from Goo Goo Goggles. The frames I ordered are too small to fit my progressive lenses. I need to lift the glasses up when I read because the "sweet spot" of the bifocals is too small - and I feel the salesperson should have flagged that for me at the time of selecting and ordering. Apparently, there is nothing to be done about the problem - first, I was given temporary pads to lift the glasses up to the correct spot for reading; then, I made another appointment to get more permanent pads attached. Both sets of pads soon fell off and I was back to lifting the glasses to read. I was told there is nothing else to be done. I went elsewhere and got another pair of glasses with a larger surface area and they work perfectly. No lifting up glasses or squinting. I did make more than one visit to Goo Goo to sort this out but in the end I am stuck with a pair of useless glasses. I feel like this is not my fault. I don't buy glasses every day but they do dispense them and in my opinion, they ought to have known that the frame I picked was not right for my needs. read more

This is an excellent business! The eye pad of my old glasses had broken off and it was a bit of an odd piece to repair. I am highly myopic and really need to have back-up glasses. I decided to try to get them fixed while visiting Victoria. Goo Goo Goggles cheerfully made a curbside appointment, replaced both eye pads within 30 minutes and did not charge for the service, though I would've been happy to pay! FYI I had previously approached opticians in Toronto (response: just buy new ones), Burlington (answer: looks tricky, might not be able to repair) and Montreal (no answer at all despite repeat attempts). When I needed my new prescription lens inserted into my frames, which I definitely wanted to keep, I visited 4 different Optical shops, large anf small. Not one of them would touch my specs. You see, the frames are quite unique: diamond-shaped, and barely touch the lens at the arms. One clerk even took a step back, held out her hands, and said "No, no". That said, I found Goo Goo Goggles. Their place is welcoming, the staff courteous, knowledgeable, engaging, and they laugh at my jokes. I was completely satisfied with the high standard of workmanship and professionalism. Thank you Bradley and everyone working with you. I would recommend anyone to go, not pass go, to goo goo googles, it's the only stop your eyes will need. I can't speak highly enough for the customer service and product I received at Goo Goo Goggles. I came in and admitted that I was very financially constrained, and rather than trying to upsell me on features I didn't need, they kept finding ways to get the price more affordable. I ended up with quality frames and lenses for 1/2 the price the competition had quoted me, perfectly fit and tuned to my needs. But above and beyond the financial considerations, the customer service was just so kind, generous and professional, and I love how LGBTQ+ positive the staff and business is. My cleaning cloth was even a Pride flag! I can't recommend this business enough, I really can't, especially if you are a member of the Queer community. But even if you are not, this is a business you can trust to meet your needs without engaging in predatory sales tactics such as Lens Crafters and the like. Even the turnaround on my lenses was lightning fast, and the support I've received for tuning and the like as I've gone in since has been exceptional and free, and everytime the staff recognized me and was incredibly friendly. This place has a small, but very good selection of frames (including the Canadian brand Venus, of which I am a huge fan). I was also impressed by the customer service. I dropped by one day because my frames were becoming loose - they tightened them up on-the-spot for no charge and kindly gave me a little do-it-yourself toolkit so I could fix them myself at home the next time. read more
