Situated behind the post office, and past the cute peanut LOVE sign is a welcoming building inviting you to come in and experience peanut heaven! There are barns and outbuildings around the store and a porch that beckons you to the country charm of this place! And yes, we took the token touristy photo of the peanut head! We couldn't resist! We were warmly greeted by the ladies in the shop and we commenced gathering our nutty selections! We purchased a ton of peanut items: a big bag of unsalted peanuts, butter toasted coated pecans, a can of salted peanuts, some smoked ham slices, a bottle of bbq sauce, a funny squishy stress peanut and some other gifts! We wanted some chocolate covered nuts too but we were traveling and it was hot as the dickens and didn't want them to melt! Next time! We had a great time checking out all the jams, jellies, condiments, pickles, nut butters, the ornaments and other items in the shop! Then we headed out to the car! I said, boy I wish the had peanut brittle! And my brother said, they did have some! So I went right back in and bought a couple of containers of the brittle! Mmmm! We opened one right away and this was the best peanut brittle we ever had! Light and airy and crunchy and buttery, not too hard. Our teeth were thankful for that! Go on and get you some! Not worth the trip to go out of your way . The prices and selections are disappointing.

We made a quick and easy detour to escape the traffic and stumbled upon this super cute peanut shop--totally worth the stop. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm, savory aroma of freshly boiled peanuts and an incredibly friendly lady who made us feel right at home. We browsed around and left with two cups of boiled peanuts, 2 lbs of raw peanuts (to make my own), and a can of butter toasted pecans. The shop is full of goodies, including local honey, trail mixes, and all kinds of flavored pecans and peanuts--perfect for snacks or gifts. Was a great Pitt stop that my boyfriend and I did. We will do it again when get the chance. So many flavors.

My sister and I were traveling I-95 South reading the signs for this peanut shop. OMG when approaching it we felt like time travelers, waaaay back. We had to cross the railroad tracks to get to the building that had us question to go in. We got out of the car reading the signs that were warm and humorous and decided let's do this. Walking in we were greeted by the nicest lady that immediately made us feel welcomed. The walls were beautifully arranged with the goodies and souvenirs. Samples of most are offered and the customer service was EXCELLENT!!!! We had the most wonderful conversation with one of the owners, Scott. Yes, her name is Scott and her husband's is Lyndsey. Parking/location: It was on a gravel dirt drive just past railroad tracks, with minimal parking space out front of the building. This place was such a gem! We saw the billboard on the highway and decided to stop and it did not disappoint!. They get the peanuts from farmers in the surrounding fields and over a variety of flavors. I loved the salted redskin peanuts, they were super delicious and crunchy. I also LOVED the chocolate peanut butter peanuts. I got a small can, drove half a mile down the road and had to turn around and the big can. So good! If you're on 95 this one is up there with South of the Border in terms of seeing signs miles and miles before you are even close to the store. Thankfully Good Earth does not have a cliché stereotype mascot nor are they using triple entendres to sell their products. Whatever. As others have mentioned the drive from 95 is very short. Get off at exit 4, drive past the two truck stops down Moore's Ferry Road and you're there. Even though you are very close to the highway when you get out (unless there happens to be a CSX freight blasting by) it's very quiet. Like Walking Dead quiet vibes. Odd. I know. The building that houses the store looks like it's ready to fall apart and once inside you see that they have every inch of shelf space packed down mostly with their stuff but there are also a few outside items that they carry that are not local plus large sacks of nuts all over the floor. There's a lot to see. We eventually settled on some cashews, sea salt peanuts and a few local sweets. Prices are certainly not cheap and I don't know how much it tastes better/different than Planters but at least you know here who you are supporting. Sampling is more than encouraged and if the owner is there she will be more than happy to tell you about their process and how they started by boiling their first batches of their kitchen stove top. Overall a truly quirky neat roadside experience that I'm glad we tried and I'm sure it'll now be incorporated into future trips through the area. read more

Stopped here on a whim because I saw the signs along 95 and thought there was going to be more than what there really was to GEPC. GEPC is a small country store at a railroad intersection with all kinds of made-on-the-premises flavored peanuts and not-made-on-the-premises jellies and pickled vegetables among other things. The business has been in business for over three decades. All peanuts in all flavors are available to try. There was a steady stream of customers or curiosity seekers coming and going. My boyfriend and I went on a road trip. First stop - Virginia Beach. As we're cruising along, I'm on the lookout for anything unusual. I know we've got a long way ahead of us - but hey, how often do we do this drive? With that in mind (and the fact that the exit is for a place called Skippers), I excitedly callout the need to stop for this place. We take the exit and I say "okay, this doesn't look too promising". The area was very quiet with no one in sight. Just our luck, a lady showed up and hung the "open" sign on the door - yippee! The store isn't too big, but it's got a very nice assortment of nuts and chocolate-covered goodies. The lady working there was super nice, and encouraged us to sample everything. We ended up buying a large can of salted peanuts, dark chocolate-covered cherries, and butter toffee pecans. Would I go again? Probably not (especially since I now know you can mail-order their stuff). Would I recommend you go? Yes. Because that's what you should do on road trips. ;) read more

Awesome We had been introduced to Virginia-roasted peanuts at the VA welcome centre. We stopped here on our way home, and I'm so glad that we did. They are a few minutes off of I95 in Skippers, VA. The building does look a little old, and they even have a sign outside advising that the inside isn't as scary as the outside. Inside is peanut heaven. Many different varieties of hand roasted peanuts. We only bought two cans, because we had another four in the car. We sampled a lot but settled on the sea salt, and the cajun ones.
