The room was filled with comfortable and functional antique furnishings. The bed was very cozy. The patio off the side was a tranquil garden spot. The service was always great, until this year. This year, we ran the same routine, get settled in the house and head to Stonehouse for the boat. Everything was going great, we saw online that new management was in place. We get our boat, pick up the kids on the dock and hit the water for the rest of the day. Half way through the day we noticed that the gas gauge hadn't budged and that it still said full. The next morning we went to Stonehouse to get gas and asked about the gauge. The wise guy kid filling the gas asked if we considered that the tank was indeed full. We told him that a full gas tank would be impossible considering how far we rode the day before. The kid then jumped in the drivers seat and to look at the gauge and agreed with us that it wasn't working. While in the drivers seat the kid noticed that we were listening to George Straight (because he's the best), he then cranked up the music and said that he didn't want to hear us talk . The kid then asked who I presumed was the new owner of the business and he confirmed that the gauge in fact did not work because someone put the wrong fuel in. So these guys over at the Stonehouse knowingly sent us out on the water with insufficient equipment. Sad to say that after years of doing business here, we will be taking our business to a new location even if means paying more. You can't put a price tag on customer service and peace of mind. Good luck, Stonehouse. Im not overly optimistic about your future, I hope I'm wrong.

There was no view of this gorgeous lake, only the view of the office, marina boats and boat slips. Yuk The beach was not useable. The sand on the beach and in the water was covered in vegetation. No new sand this year! The house was clean and comfortable. Kitchen lacked utensils. 7 forks total and 7 large plates. No lunch plates. We had to run the dishwasher after every meal. Stonehouse Timber Lodge DOES NOT RECYCLE We took all our cans and bottles home. We expected more for the price we paid and based on their advertising which was very misleading.

A relatively straight approach into the parking area where it splits cars and trucks. The main building has a payphone and clean restrooms with a separate area for vending machines. There are a number of covered picnic tables and space for walking dogs. Bonus star for the picnic area. Yes, just before going back onto the highway, there is a loop that takes you around the back of the rest area where there are more picnic tables and more parking. We're typically passing through this place when it's dark, so it's nice that the area is well lit. The landscaping here is also appealing. Plenting of parking, with cars on one side and trucks on the other. The Welcome Center itself is separate from the restrooms and vending area and is located on the left side. The main building has 2 family restrooms, a men's restroom (to the left) and the women's restrooms are 3 total spaces. I can imagine that if this rest stop ever sees an influx of visitors, there would be a flow and efficiency due to the availability of women's spaces. The spaces throughout have been clean and well maintained with functioning toilets, faucets, and well supplied paper products. On the further left of the main building, there are vending machines. The water fountains have a refill station for your personal water bottles and is located to the left of the women's restrooms. When nature calls, we highly recommend stopping by this Welcome Center!
