Lovely farmers market!…read more I've stopped by here twice, so far. Yesterday was my second visit. I was a little later in the time frame both times and may have missed some vendors. Or they don't have many - yet. But I hope to see it grow! It's on a pretty farm - where you can pick your own berries - and held in a nice barn/store on the property. Yesterday was nice enough that a couple of vendors were outdoors. Everything is locally grown/sourced. I've purchased a variety of fresh produce, local chicken & beef (they have pork too), honey, baked goods, herbed butter and fresh herbs, maple syrup & maple bbq sauce. I'm excited for the maple vinegar I got there yesterday and can't wait to use it. And fresh farm eggs! Once you have fresh farm eggs you'll never want to buy them from a grocery store again. They also have a variety of jams, dried mushrooms (I will be getting some of those the next visit!) and natural body products.

This included welcoming us to use one of their sanitizeed carts. After telling her this was our first visit to their farm, Melissa introduced herself, she then told us about the farm and the activities. Our first stop was the pumpkin patch. Melissa told us that if we were lucky we may still find blue pumpkins. These are "robin's egg blue Cinderella pumpkins." We carefully scoured the pumpkin patch for them to no avail. It looks like we were too late to find one. We did find some awesome orange and green pumpkins, orange pumpkins, a few white pumpkins, cushaw squash, and an assortment of small and large gourds. Activities are well spaced out. There are seasonal favorites such as a corn maze, hayrides and cutouts. Maps are available for the corn maze if guests are worried about getting lost. For 2020, hay rides are priced per person, with only one family in the wagon at a time. One unique activity is a giant trebuchet. Guests may pay to launch pumpkins from it. There is a play area with spaced out activities for younger children. Visitors are welcome to walk around the farm. They have sheep, chickens and rabbits. There is a creek behind the corn maze. Complimentary U-pick raspberries may be snacked on while visiting. Picnic tables are available to use. Prepackaged snacks are available for purchase. Some farm fresh goodies such as eggs and jam were also available for purchase.

The museum itself is incredibly hands-on and interactive. My kids could have stayed all day. The water play area was a huge hit (bring a change of clothes or use the smocks they provide), and the construction zone with life-size building blocks kept them busy for ages. I loved that it's set up in a way where kids can explore independently but parents can still keep an eye on them easily. The staff was friendly and kept things clean, which I appreciated since little ones are touching everything. The whole museum is very family-friendly, with spaces for toddlers as well as older kids, so no one feels left out. Another bonus: since it's inside the larger Museum Center, you can easily combine your visit with the Natural History Museum or an IMAX show. Parking was simple, and there are food options inside, though we chose to pack snacks. Overall, it's the perfect place for kids to play, learn, and burn off energy--rainy day or not. We stopped by on a Sunday morning in early October, and we were absolutely SHOCKED at the amount of people here! This is definitely the spot for families with young kids - and even though we don't fall into the category, we still had a pretty fun visit! We brought our dog with us (because we called ahead and they are dog-friendly!) but if we would have known how crowded it would be, we certainly would have left him at home since he gets anxious around lots of people. Everyone we interacted with that worked there was friendly! They seemed well-staffed for how busy they were - and I definitely appreciated the extra parking attendants. We opted to pick pumpkins ourselves, which included a hayride. This took us through much of the farm, which was beautiful and well kept! They even had fun facts on little signs scattered along the route. The best part of the visit was the actual pumpkin picking. They provide you with garden shears, and you physically get to remove your pumpkin from the vine. We had a lot of fun roaming around in search of the best gourd available - and I can't say I've ever had a pumpkin experience quite like this one. We would have ordered some food from the snack shack, but long lines led us to opt for some kettle corn to-go from a different vendor. No problems there - I'm always happy when there's kettle corn involved. All in all, we had a pretty good time, and I would consider visiting again if my little niece and nephew were in town!

I was lucky enough to take my 3 1/2 year old nephew and by the time we left, we were WORN OUT! They sent a gator out to shuttle us and our pumpkins back to the parking area and we were glad to plop after the day's adventure. We will definitely be returning before the end of the season!

Also bonus; these are not paid actors. They are all volunteers and procedes go to youth sports.
