Whenever anything has gone awry while I'm away the owner has always called me and managed the issue personally. When one of my dogs had a medical issue while I was out of town, they took him to the urgent care vet and stayed with him the whole time while he got treatment while keeping me updated, then took him back again the next day for his check up. A few of the caretakers came to our home a week or so prior to our trip to see our pet care routine, ask questions, etc. During our trip, we received text message updates when they arrived and left, often with pictures of our boys. The only hiccup we had was noticing an interior door left open after they left. We let them know and they returned quickly to close it up before our boys got into something they shouldn't have.
