My husband and I are their loyal customers for decade because we live less than half a mile from their office. It's considering convenience, and we have a simple tax filing every year, so we don't bother looking where else. The husband, Liem V Bui, and wife, Mai P Bui seem nice, but they are not always friendly nor helpful, but that type of attitude doesn't matter to us. We just cared about their name Good Jobs stands behind their service doing a good job for their clients. We had been referred Mai Bui's tax service out to all of my family, friends, colleagues, and etc., and they had referred her service out to their knowing people as well. My sister used to file her returns with the husband Liem Bui for many years, until approximately 10 years ago, she got an IRS audit. She reached out to him for reason and help how to complying with the IRS, but she was mad like hell with Liem Bui because he did not provide her any assistance or advise that she expected from her tax preparer. My sister warned me about their irresponsible, unprofessional, and un ethnical practice, but we didn't bother because we didn't have any issue with these tax preparers. Until 2019, we went to Good Jobs and e-filed our state and federal returns for 2018 as usual, we sent in our check to the IRS to pay for our tax due liked previous years. In 2020, 2021, and 2022 we had received notice from CA Franchise Tax Board reminding us to file our tax. We called Good Jobs and asked them to send our return to FTB and IRS, but we continued to receive notice from FTB and IRS that our tax returns in the year 2019 have not been filed plus warning for tax collections, liens, and garnishments against my husband and I. We contacted Good Jobs for helping us to resolve FTB and IRS un-filing tax notices. So much frustration, again and again, we received the FTB and IRS notices, we made our own effort and sent in the FTB and IRS our tax e-filed copies. In addition, we spent so many days on the phone with the IRS to resolve this issue. At last, during the phone contact with IRS's agent, we found out our issue that Good Jobs has never e-filed our tax return of 2018 in 2019, and I realized that my e-filed copies was provided by Good Jobs appear no e-filed confirmation code numbers on its comparing with the previous years e-filed copies. The fact that the IRS received our tax payment, but there wasn't a tax filing exist to apply my payment to; therefore, the IRS penalized us a hectic amount for the non-filing penalty plus interest charged for that 4 years. I brought this issue up with Mai Bui, her hesitating smile at me that she said, she filed but she claimed her software vendor provides the service for e-filing did not transmit nor sent the e-filed. Her action was providing letter that she typed on our behalf to the IRS asking for waived the penalty, and she asked for extra time for dispute with her software vendor help us re-solve the issue. Unprofessional and irresponsible practices for over 8 months, we came to their office Mai Bui wasn't at the business place, her husband stated, "if we would like to bring a legal lawsuit against them just do so." That's how an unprofessional and un-ethnical practice response to their clients. I always rather to write a good review to support small business instead of write a bad review to sabotage a small business, but I just wanted to warn others who are currently using their tax service, people should be cautious for their taxes' issue outcome and ready to deal with the FTB and IRS on their own in the future just likee us. Addition to that, we had been supporting their business and paid our filing fee NOT a free service, but they have not delivered their service and not admitted or accepted their responsibility over their bad course of actions and keep claimed on their software provider instead. PS**If you let their staff know that you have any change or update from one year to the next year, they won't bother to change or update for you. Be aware of that as well** read more

I have worked with this office over 10 years. I thought they are professional licensed service but they are not. They submitted my wife tax document and somehow they did not go through. I received many notices from IRS, I contacted them for their help but no response, did nothing for years. I sent them emails, they claimed that my mails went to spam they didn't see. don't go here. Last year i put my name at 4pm, and they called me at 11pm. They weren't helpful at all! The office service's fee was very high, and i had to end up paying a lot for my tax last year. I've been coming here for a few years now. I know everyone complains about the wait times, etc. But hey when you go last minute during tax season you're going to have to expect to wait! I have to admit I'm one of the ones that wait till the week of to get my taxes done! I usually drop off my taxes and they give you a call back, or you're able to make an appointment to come back. It usually takes about a week for me, but again I wait till the week of to get them done. When you arrive you usually are never seen at the time your appointment is (at least for me) but I don't mind at all considering tax season is always busy, and I specifically like to wait for Mai. People complain about the charge? Ummm, anywhere else is so pricey, i think their very fair!!!! Definitely will continue to have taxes done here. read more

5 stars! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Probably since the beginning of having to do my taxes! My go to accountant is Liem Bui, he is great. I've referred many friends to him (my parents also come here to do their taxes). The only caveat is that the wait could be horrendous. How it works is this: you come to sign in/leave documents and leave your number, then return once it's your turn. Wait times can vary and it could very well take all day during the busy season. In my opinion, it's well worth it. I always get good customer service and they're very accommodating. I can't imagine going elsewhere! Super affordable. read more

This is my second year with co Mai and every time I made an apt there was always an hour wait even with an apt. This year I have questions with my investment and she said she was too busy to go over with me during my tax return apt but to schedule with her after the tax season. After tax season, I called at least 5 times left msgs and no return call. Finally I got a hold co Mai and she said she will call back me back but nothing for a week. So I called again and scheduled an apt because getting hold of her on the phone was impossible. During my apt time I had to wait over 50 minutes due to she was out doing errands knowing that she had an apt with me. 40 minutes passed, she came in the office and decided to help another client whom came in 30 minutes after me and whom has no apt. I had to wait for another 15 minutes, this was super rude and unprofessional. Finally I got a chance to consult with co Mai, she was cold and unhelpful. I feel that she quickly answered questions and wanted to brush me off. NOT recommend this place, they should name it a Bad Jobs tax service. read more

Came here to get my taxes done! last minute, got a pretty good deal from Dang (that's his name), had to wait for quite a bit but they were really busy, the waiting area was horrible, smelled like a bathroom and there were people sleeping on the couches and stuff, seriously felt like a detox cell or something.. but Dang was very professional and helped me quickly through my taxes, I will be coming back again next year. oh and + I that they have Hershey's kisses in the waiting area so I definitely tried my best to eat back my money while I was waiting. read more

It's been a LONG time since I had to do taxes. I think this is the first time that I wasn't eligible to do it over the phone since I was working full-time. I was recommended by a friend to get my taxes done here. Since it was close to crunch time (about 1.5 weeks before the deadline April 15), the wait was about 2 hours. You can also drop off your paperwork beforehand so all is prepared and ready to go on your appointment. This was my second year filing at Good Jobs, my relatives and family has been going here for the last 5+ years. This last time, was the last straw for me. They have made mistakes on my family's tax files twice, and being the forgiving people my parents and relatives are...they are dealing with it patiently. The accountant is kind, but she can be quite careless. We had dropped off all my forms physically to their office and got a number, at about 10AM. The receptionist informed me that I should be good by 4/5PM. 5PM comes around, I call the office, she told me "there are two people in front of you, I'll call you 15 minutes before your turn because you live 15 minutes away." I did not get a call in the next 15 minutes. In fact, I did not get a call at all even at 6PM. So naturally, I called in to inquire again. She then informed me that "oh, now there is only one person in front of you, I told you I'd call 15 minutes before." Hmm interesting that it takes an hour per person to do taxes here...I tried to be patient, but at 7PM, I drove straight there to see what the deal is. As soon as I walked in and told the receptionist "I'm number 50, and I called earlier," she walked me into the accountant's office right away. She was clearly avoiding me on purpose in order to take as many walk-ins as possible, even though I had brought all documents beforehand 9 hours earlier in the day. They did not even apologize for this. It only took the accountant 15 minutes to complete my paperwork and I was out of there, I doubt the two people ahead of me was given one hour each. They are not professional and clearly need to hire better receptionists and secretaries. (This was about two weeks ago) My parents and relatives filed about a week before me, and similarly to other reviewers, they made an appointment and still had to wait 2 hours physically at the office. I signed in and waited for an hour to get my taxes done. The lady at the front desk said it would take only a little bit longer before it was my turn so I sat there on the couch and waited. Half an hour later she said the same thing. Then I waited for the lady who does the taxes to finish up with her customer then finish her lunch. The process to do my taxes was quick and she charged me $30. This place is upstairs and there is not a whole lot of parking in the plaza due to so many customers from all the other stores in this plaza. read more

I felt really pressure and did not think i received enough return that year. I'm not sure because the day I came in it was so busy that's why he didn't do my tax thoroughly or this is her style.
