I wanted to provide a new review for anyone who is interested in what acupuncture (and Yvonne) can do for your overall health. I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in Sept 2021. Upon a recommendation from another Pink Warrior and my oncologist, I decided to try acupuncture during my chemo treatments. Since October of 2021, I have seen Yvonne a minimum of 2-3 times a week. I have handled chemo, surgery, and radiation better than anyone I know going through treatment and I attribute a large part of it to acupuncture. Yvonne and I worked out a plan to support my body, while the oncologist worked on killing cancer. Acupuncture and meditation have been essential parts of my healing. I would recommend Yvonne to anyone for any issue you are experiencing. Remember this practice is not a "quick" fix, but with continued appointments, a positive attitude, and Yvonne's help - you will feel better in no time. This was my first time having acupuncture and it was such a pleasant experience. The acupuncturist made sure that all of my questions were answered and made sure that I was comfortable prior to starting, which was super important to me as I have a fear of needles. The experience.. man I can't even describe it. I could feel the energy like coursing through my body from my neck to my feet. It was the craziest feeling but I felt comfortable the entire time. I was skeptical of community acupuncture because it just seemed like it would be weird and uncomfortable. But I decided to try this place out and I'm so glad I did. When I drove up to the old building, I wasn't impressed, but the inside is very comfortable and clean. It was so easy to sign up for an appointment online, and I scheduled it a few days out with no problem. When I got there, Yvonne (acupuncturist) greeted me and took me to a private room to discuss my paperwork/ailments. She explained that I would be in a room with 3 other people, and the chairs are 12 feet apart. When I got in the room and she put the needles in, I didn't feel like closing my eyes right away, so I looked around at the scenic art work, and enjoyed the white noise from the air purifier along with the relaxing new age music. I felt great after my session. The numbness and tingling in my arm was still there, but Yvonne suggested that I return twice a week for two weeks. So I made an appointment for the next day (I was so glad they had a time available). I slept so well last night, after the first session. I asked about cupping, and she said they only offer that during private sessions, which are $60 instead of the regular $29. And they don't do them on Saturdays because she doesn't have time. I decided it was worth it to choose the private session every once in a while, so I'm going next Tuesday. Good Point was my first experience with acupuncture and I've been 3 times now, once a week. I thought about getting acupuncture in the past but it was out of my price range to keep up with it on a consistent basis. I book my appointment easily online, usually same day. The community style room is super relaxing. I grab a blanket and a eye-mask, hop into a comfy recliner, explain what I am working on to the acupuncturist, and I am off to sleepy town for about an hour. It is my time to relax and focus on myself. No phone, no texts, no emails. Just me! For $25 I can afford to do it on a regular schedule and I have seen an improvement on my stress induced headaches and a few other ailments. After I am done I am super relaxed and I feel all the weeks stress kind of melt away. There is a private room available as well for those who need a more personal touch. read more

Prepare yourself for some healing and relaxation. After finding this place last week, I have been back twice! Good Point specializes in community acupuncture, which means everyone sits in a big room while getting treated. The space is so relaxing---white noise, soft lights, really comfy recliners. Each time I have gone, my symptoms have gotten better afterwards. And it's such a great deal! Only $35 for the first session and $25 each session after that. This is really an awesome place. Especially for those of us that are not wealthy enough or have insurance that will cover acupuncture. The community room idea was a bit off putting when it was explained to me but once you close you eyes and sink into the awesome lounger you don't even know where you are. Acupuncture has helped me so much it is difficult to believe. Right now we are working on tendonitis in my right ankle as my main complaint and in just tree treatments I can already feel an improvement. If you have any hesitation about the pins fear not 99% of the time you feel nothing and 1% you MIGHT feel a small sting for about 5 seconds. I cannot encourage everyone enough to give this a try for 10 or so times and then decide if you are not feeling better. Issues like anxiety, stress, depression can all be addressed by acupuncture, It is viewed by a lot of people as some sort of weird hippie thing but really I am not joking this is worth every penny and time spent. I went from running marathons in 2017 to being debilitated by constant nausea in all of 2018 and just barely able to keep working. I had lost 15 pounds and was living on a very limited soft food diet, mostly cream of wheat, because that was all my stomach could tolerate in small amounts. After my GI doc diagnosed me with idiopathic gastroparesis and told me that the only medication (Reglan) had terrible side effects so he didn't recommend it, I decided to seek acupuncture to get some nausea relief and help my appetite. I've had acupuncture in the past and know that sometimes I get instant relief while other times it takes a few or several sessions, depending on the condition for which I'm being treated. I fully expected this to take several sessions before I found any relief since I've been sick for well over a year. But after the first session I had three days in a row with no nausea, which were the best 3 days of my life over the last year. I've started getting sessions twice a week and the results continue to amaze me - I'm getting my appetite back, my nausea is continuing to decrease in frequency and severity, and I've even been able to start doing some short runs again as well as increased my yoga. The other unexpected benefit is a huge drop in my anxiety which I had before the gastroparesis but which had gotten much worse due to the illness. I've had sessions from both of the acupuncturists and they both took time to talk to me about nutrition suggestions and stress relief. They both seem to really care about the health of their patients. I'm so glad to have this resource available in Round Rock and not have to drive all the way into Austin (and deal with Austin traffic). This place is great! read more

I have been having suffering from back pain, as well as headaches. -which doesn't make for a typically pleasent person. I looked into acupuncture, due to hearing great changes that come from it. So I found Good Point Acupuncture, logged in, and set an appoint for the same day. When I arrived I was greated by a friendly face who ensured me the needles where nothing to be scared of, and how great of an experience it is. After filling out some standard paper work I was advised to go into a room, grab a pillow, blanket, face mask, or ear plugs if it would help in the relaxation. I excitedly went in. Soft music played in the background. The room was dim and the perfect tempretur. I grabbed a mask, and a blanket, picked my chair and awaited for the session to begin. A wonderful woman came in, she went over things to expect, and where she should focus more attention. She then reclined the chair, and began the session. The butterflies I had originally about the possibility of the needles hurting quickly went away. Once the needles where in place she left the room. I sunk into the chair, and truly relaxed for the first time ever. Feeling as if my chakra was realigning. The best 45 minutes of my life. I would recommend this to anyone and I will visit again!! read more

I am really happy to have found Good Point Acupuncture. The treatments help me a lot, and at $25 they are very affordable. When I first tried acupuncture, I went to a practitioner in Austin that was very good, and had private rooms, but there is no way I could continue paying $80 a visit. It's true that on each visit, she just briefly asks how you are doing, but since I usually come for the same issues, the treatment is similar, and it always helps me. their website is a real challenge to navigate - for some reason, I was unable to schedule online - could be my phone, but this problem has never been resolved. Now, down to the acupuncture itself....I have never had "community acupuncture" and I'm not sure I like it. On my first visit, I was the only one in the large,comfy, relaxing room. My therapist actually listened to my health concern - why I was seeking relief. I did feel better after I left. Second visit - she didn't seem to listen to what my issue was - but treated me the same as before, ok, I guess. By the time I left - there were 3 other people in the room, all receiving acupuncture. ALL 4 patients - had the same number of needles, in the same spots??? I'm thinking - this was the "treatment du jour" and I did feel some better but treatment was not specific to each patient and I find that concerning. My third visit was virtually identical to the second. The professionalism I am used to with acupuncture wasn't there. I almost felt like I was getting acupuncture in someone's garage or basement at their home. Does her treatment help? yes, some... Am I confident in her ability? no, not really. Would I recommend her to a friend or family member? Nope... Will I return? I honestly don't know... read more
