We have some small collections of cast iron, Pyrex, coins, blue cornflower corning ware, etc. We have also enjoyed finding items and re-selling them occasionally. I guess you could call us pickers. My in-laws are also pickers. When they were in town visiting us a few weeks ago we brought them to several antique stores. Treasures on the Lane was one of those stops. While we were there, my wife noticed they were advertising a vacant shelf within a lighted cabinet for $15/month. She asked a few questions and obtained a business card. About a week later my wife decided to call and inquire. She spoke with Phil, one of the owners and he provided her with the necessary information and she decided to give it a try. The next weekend we arrived and filled out a bit of paperwork and set up her space. We also enjoy looking around when we stop in. The store consists of a wide array of items including coins, baseball cards, Pyrex, corning ware and other vintage glassware and dishes, military items, vintage toys, and much more. Treasures on the Lane is also very convenient to the interstate making it an easy stop even if just passing through Burlington.

We were in the area again today and my wife wanted to stop by. They are only open on Saturday's from 10am to 3pm but are very active on Instagram and do "insta-sales" featuring items for purchase throughout the week @salvagesistersnc. The building looks like a small warehouse. Outside they have some salvage building materials such as old windows, sinks and metal ceiling panels. Inside is an eclectic mix of similar type building materials, furniture, handmade industrial furniture, art prints, books, flannel, sweater and denim tops. My wife ended up buying a few items including a flannel shirt and a bread tray from Holsum Bakers in Winston-Salem which we will clean up and use as a piece inside our home. Everything is beautifully arranged, from the furniture, to the paintings, the jewelry and sundry home decor and collectibles. The quality of everything, particularly the antique watches and mirrors was unusual. It seems as though the owners are particular about the items they select for display. The store has a bright and open feel, probably owing to the large windows and the loft that in itself made you feel like you could curl up on the furniture, pick up a book and relax with a cup of tea. Although I didn't find anything I had to have, I was certainly tempted. Perhaps I'll give in to temptation on what will certainly be my next visit.

And then there it was--this HUGE thrift store in an understated shopping mall. We walked in and there is a huge variety of nearly everything! Books are nicely organized and rightly priced. Need some holiday decor--they have plenty! If you need anything for someone who has been incapacitate or needs additional nursing care, you're likely to find it here. What you WON'T FIND is clothing!!!!! So if you're looking for that, keep on driving and go to their sister-store in Burlington (Hospice League Clothing Store). What I love is that there are some hidden gems here. Their pricing is surprisingly high and there is no negotiation. But what is important is that you are supporting an AMAZING cause.
