Never had a bad shopping experience here. They have it all. Every section is always full of merchandise. The only con is alot of the clothing is dingy looking but there are alot of gems too. I always find great coats and shoes. The prices are fair. There's a little room to negotiate on jewelry. Everyday sales on certain color tags, usually a 50% off tag, a 25% off tag and a $1 tag. Its a huge store and would take an hour visit to get through the clothes racks alone. Staff is friendly. Decent parking lot. On busy days checking out can be up to a 15min wait just to get to the cashier. read more

Went and bought a few items at 630 well there dressing rooms are closed then so I asked if I can return the next day the employee said yes .Next morning rolls around had two items I needed to exchange first they were labeled wrong second could not exchange it . As I was walking to drop off items before shopping I heard an employee screaming orders at another employee. I felt so uncomfortable witnessing this but still dropped off my items and decided to go in. Before leaving I asked who the manger was and it just so happened to be the woman verbally abusing her employee. Her name is Alyssa, brunette with glasses. After reading other reviews here about the terrible employees, I'm just wondering if every worker is like this. You all need to get your act together. Avoid seeking employment here. Unless you have no life. I went into work to be told my services were no longer needed according to Sherry 'i took extended breaks when my time card shows exactly 15 minutes to the T every day i was there. I was there in time, i did exactly what i was told. If you apply here you might as well sell your soul to the place. The hiring manager who has no kids doesn't care if you have kids. Very rude employees especially 30 minutes before closing. Someone will start yelling "To all Good Samaritan customers, we will be closIng in 25 minutes" & will repeat every 5 or 10 min. You also need to pay attention to how much they charge you as they ring up because I've never been there without the cashier making mistakes. If they overcharged and didn't realize after you get your receipt, good luck if the owner is there to approve or disapprove. crediting back to your account or money back is close to impossible. read more

I love this store, like absolutely LOVE this store.. the people who are giving this low ratings are quite.. EH! Like every time i visit my family I go to this store. I use to not really like it before, but now im in love with this store.. heres why. CARTS.. zomg... the carts.. .. it reminds me kind of goodwill in southern california, they bring out carts.. and OMG..... carts can have amazing things in those carts.. I got like so much stuff there everytime i went there.. so i went like almost everyday when i was on vacation there.. found toys, found shopkins, dolls, and omg.. have you not looked in their toy section OMG.. i got a kylo ren, a generation doll, omg.. a 40.00 nerf gun (that is how much is at toysrus) for 3.00.. OMG, my mom got silverware from those carts, my sister got almost everything from a cart one time.. My mom said they had carts before.. but i am not sure.. but OMG.. carts are amazing, good toys.. when you have that kind of luck but OMG.. 5 star rating and i cant wait to go to this thrift store again.. amazing read more

Mostly happy with the items I find, but as soon as one of my 3 children ( or myself) needs to use the restroom, it is time to leave. No public restrooms has really made things difficult.* And this lack of accommodation makes me feel like they just want your money and not caring for the customer. I used to pay only $20 or so for a bag of clothes, now it is $40 or $50. I feel financially guilty for shopping at a thrift store. Is anyone from management reading these comments? So I have been here a few times..I usually Only buy things that are half off that day..because they are way over priced..So today I went there to get some blankets for some dogs that are left out side in the cold..Thinking I can go to the thrift-store and buy some ...let me tell u they have some 1990 comforters and charging 20-25$ all the blankets were so old and totally not worth what they are asking..So sad that they get all these items free and charge prices like this.. shame on u!!very disappointing read more

We usually donate quite a bit to this thrift store but a few weeks ago I finally had a few kid-free hours to myself and decided to stop in here around 6:30pm. I ended up finding a pair of shorts I wanted to try on and since they are open until 8PM I didn't think it would be an issue to try them on. Wrong! The lady working the counter very rudely told me that they closed their dressing rooms at 6:30 to which there were no signs saying anything to that effect. When what you sell is like 70% clothing why on earth would you close the dressing rooms a whole hour and a half before your store closes? I haven't been back since and probably won't. LOVE THIS PLACE . I recently moved to Modesto I drive by this place a lot , I decided to go in one day and Omg It didn't disappoint! There's a young man always welcoming everyone in (even though he's ignored) . Overall the staff members have been so nice to me , and the prices are awesome !! They're always putting things out on the floor so you always find something. I personally like to go on Monday's because the new week sale starts and certain tags are $1 !! update: Oh no! They got bad, then they got even worse. The store has all but done away with books. They have crammed them into a small corner and used valuable book space for purses. I was hoping they would reconsider because they had really good books. I have to take the stars away. The manager said they had pallets upon pallets of books. Someone in power should get them to have Sunday morning parking lot sales. At .25 and .50 they would still make money. If they opened at 9 am on Sunday, everyone would spend their money there, before the 10 am opening stores ever got off of their honkers. Get on it, people! read more

I had a bad experience at the store. With pricing it's a sticker on a price for $15 and then there was an eraser pencil yellow pencil mark on it for $35 they would not sell it for the sticker price. Good Samaritan thrift store far as I'm concerned is Good Samaritan rip off. read more

This store is neat and organized. There sections are smaller but the inventory, at least for the kids clothing, was of a nice quality. I noticed a huge amount of inventory being handled in the back of the store in the parking lot, so this seems like a store that you need to check out on a regular basis. read more

I always find great bargains at this place 90% of my business wardrobe comes from here. They have all kinds of clothing from pants to dresses to lingerie to shoes. They also have decent appliances and sometimes some nice furniture. This place is much better than Hope Chest. read more

I have been taking my donations to the Good Samaritan for over 3 years now and yesterday was my last time donating to them. As I'm sitting in my car waiting for the car in front of me I'm watching the gal slowly take her time in finding a box to put the donations in from the car. Once she found a box she took out one by one each item as slow as she could with one hand. The lady who is dropping off the items is getting from what I can tell impatient by her posture and movements. My turn up she stands there looking at me as I'm taking one item out of my backseat. I say would you like to help me as there are more items in the trunk. She still stands there. I go over and hand her the box. She slowly walks it over. The line has now grown to about 4 cars another gal comes over and asks me if I need help. I told her thank you the trunk is full. She starts a conversation with me and assists me. She takes my items and proceeds to help the gentleman behind me. The first gal is still holding the one box I gave her as I'm holding 2 more items in my hand. She looks at me and says just leave them there. I say I need a receipt please. Omg you would have thought I asked for the world!!! She slowly walked back over gave me a receipt and I say, "thank you have a nice day." Nothing from her!! read more

My friend I were looking for video games at the back of this store, and we saw a glass counter which had the games in them. Heres the problem, though. There was NOBODY behind the counter! We then pushed a button it said to press for somebody to help us get our games out of the case. Rang it once, five minutes later, nothing. This went on for the next 15 minutes. Until he rang it constantly, THEN somebody came out! And had the nerve to say " You only have to ring it once." I'm disgusted by the rudeness and don't plan on coming back. read more

Booo. Don't buy anything here that may not work. I paid $50 for a cuckoo clock, figuring they wouldn't dare ask so much if they hadn't at least tried it out to see it runs. Nope. Totally broken...I took it to a clock repair and he said the insides don't even match and could never work.it would need $250 in new parts to work at all. I actually like this place. They don't price things as high as other thrift stores I've seen. There are some things I believe they price too high for their quality. But for the most part they are reasonable. The times I've been there it is a hit and miss. I've found some good clothes for work and shoes. Love that they have 20% off for students.
