This place has a good, large , variety of items with good prices! One of the few true thrift shops left.

Update: It appears they have gotten rid of the "white tags" and super high priced items.

The table near the front door was stacked with wrapping paper, boxes, Christmas cards, and all other sorts of Christmas paraphernalia. As I hung a right to go around the store counterclockwise, I saw more Christmas items for sale. Christmas trees, ornaments, lights, ornament hangers were all against the wall. Against the right wall are several bookcases filled with used books. Perusing the titles, I saw a lot of self-help and religious books. They also sell CDs here. But unlike the other thrift stores in town, the selection was almost exclusively classical music. CDs are $1 each. Further towards the back right corner of the store were bookshelves full of movies. They stock both VHS tapes and DVDs. I seem to recall DVDs were $2 unless priced otherwise. I saw some loose discs in the pile, and wondered if any of the multi-disc collections were missing a disc or two. When I got to the back wall, I saw a pile of board games. Again, I could not tell if the games were complete or if any pieces were missing. In the center of the store are racks and racks of clothes. I didn't look very carefully at that display. I went on to the housewares section, towards the front, on the left side. I saw a few things here and there I was tempted to buy, but took a pass. Eventually I left with an eyeglass case ($1), and a Pelican case I intended to use to store my car GPS ($2). The staff I met were friendly. Since Community Hospice Hope Chest Thrift Store is a non-profit, you aren't charged sales tax. What you see on the price tag is what you pay!

Great pricing. They have mark downs on certain colors. Found baby clothes for .75 cents.read more

DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE WITH MEDIC ALERT FOUNDATION On April…read more17, 2025, I ordered a QR Code Dog Tag Medical ID Necklace from the Medic Alert Foundation and signed up for one year of their 24/7 Emergency Protection service. On April 21, 2025, I received an email stating, "Your order has shipped! Please note: Your shipment will arrive in approximately 8-10 business days." By May 3, 2025, the product had still not arrived. I emailed Medic Alert's member services team to report the delay and asked where the item was being shipped from. I'm very familiar with typical shipping times in the area--having spent 20 years mailing packages to and from the neighboring town--and nothing has ever taken more than four or five days. Instead of answering my question, the representative told me to wait a full month before reaching out again. In my experience, only packages coming from overseas, such as China, take that long. On May 8, 2025, I emailed again to say the product still had not arrived and again asked for the shipping origin. My question was ignored a second time. Once again, I was simply told to wait a month. When my doctor advised me to get a medical alert ID, it wasn't a casual suggestion. She made it very clear: without emergency medical identification, I could die. On May 13, 2025, I informed the Medic Alert team--via email--that due to this experience and the critical nature of the service, I had completely lost confidence in their ability to meet my emergency medical needs. I requested a full refund and the cancellation of my subscription. I also mailed a formal letter outlining my complaint to Karen Cassel, President and CEO of the Medic Alert Foundation. As of May 24, 2025, I have received no response and still have not received my order. Since requesting a refund, all communication from Medic Alert has ceased. I now have zero trust in this organization and would never rely on them in an emergency. Given Medic Alert Foundation's origin story and mission, I imagine there was a time when this was a truly great organization providing an essential service. Unfortunately, my experience, along with hundreds of other more recent reviews, suggests they have lost sight of that mission entirely.
