I have NEVER given a 5* review to a hospital and I have been there and done that! But well deserve…read moredespite a few nuances. I am writing this review with the intention to follow-up with executive management on a very important issue that should be addressed in caring for elderly/disabled/autoimmune compromised patients. Let me make it clear that our national health system as a whole has yet to recognize the difficulties experienced by this population when admitted into a hospital setting and is fixed and grounded on predated standards and to recognize that "one size does not fit all." So, all and in all, this precursory review goes to staff and NOT policies, logistics and procedures overall. "For individuals with disabilities, hospitals must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring full and equal access to their facilities and programs. This includes making communication easily understood, ensuring physical accessibility, ..................and providing reasonable modifications of policies, practices, and procedures." From experience, and even when physicians determine these patients such as me need to be admitted to the hospital, we often find ourselves waiting for hours in pain and discomfort, not getting enough food or water, not moving around, not being helped to the bathroom, and not getting the kind of care doctors deem necessary. I had not eten from around 11:a.m. till Saturday around 9:00 a.m. I have major gastro issues. In my situation, I requested ADA accommodation at the onset on arrival at the ER. Not a single staff member it was to my surprise, was familiar with the term ADA or what accommodation entailed (providing reasonable modifications of policies, practices and procedurs). Not the lead nurse/charge nurse, doctor, no one! But I pulled it up on my phone so as to familiarize staff with what the law states and what I was asking for, none of which was out of the norm for my situation. Thanks to Ms. ShirleyAnn (RN) and the room nurse who last attended to me. The attending ER physician was exceptional. I am so sorry, some names escape me. I am a hard draw, so I had a few extra sticks. The first IV placed did not work.......nurse never realized right away. Second IV had to be placed. Only complaint I have on the actual ER floor was that buzzers for assistance were not being responded to. I had to actually call 3x to get the finished IV thing removed as blood was now pooling in it. That scared me, might not scare anyone else, but I had never experienced that. After several hours, I was transported to a room where I realized I would share with another patient a few feet from me. I explained to the nurse and lead nurse my situation and the accommodation request at the ER. They also were unaware and never heard of the term ADA Reasonable Accommodation (a practice across all businesses including hotels, housing, almost every aspect of life where individuals come in contact with service). Both were very kind, understanding and immediately worked diligently to move me to a room that was not shared and for that I am grateful and thankful. The transfer to another area resulted in a short-lived relationship with the initial staff and the new staff were excellent. My attending physician on 3rd floor exceptional. The morning (Saturday) staff was exceptional, professional, kind, understanding. I want to particularly ask that Nurse Chris be recognized for the best performance I have experienced in a hospital setting. Also, Patient Assistance lady s well. Kudos. Anyhow, too many meds at the same time for me with gastro has made be not too well. AS an advocate I am fully aware that the healthcare system in the U.S. is currently facing significant challenges in providing adequate care for elderly and disabled patients. A lack of training among healthcare providers and a bias towards treating disabled patients have led to a substandard level of care. This was not so here. Food gets a fail as correct orders never came. Fix that and the ADA issue and you're magnificent.

I was instructed by an AdventHealth clinic to get lab work done. The paperwork specifically listed…read moreQuest Diagnostics as the place to go. However, the clinic staff told me to go to AdventHealth Heart of Florida instead. A month later I received a bill for $900. I have disputed this charge for three months, explaining that AdventHealth staff directed me to their own facility rather than Quest Diagnostics as the paperwork indicated. For comparison, the most expensive equivalent test at Quest is $399. As someone with a family, a $900 bill for lab work is simply not reasonable--especially when I was following the instructions given by AdventHealth staff and the paperwork pointed to a much lower-cost option. I expect transparency and accurate guidance from a healthcare provider. Being sent to a more expensive in-network facility against the written instructions, then being held responsible for the much higher bill, is unacceptable.

They listened to me and gave me the correct medication and had relief within minutes. The whole process was approximately 45 minutes from entering to discharge! The doctor gave me a prescription for my medication. Unfortunately the pharmacy was closed and I had to work the next day and by the time I left work the pharmacy was again closed and I got another migraine so I had to return to the hospital and they proceeded to take care of me quickly! I got my relief and was so very happy with the care and the people who work there! I will NEVER go to another hospital again! I went to Advent Heart Hospital a month prior for the same reason and they not only kept me there OVER 5 hours they would not listen to me, gave me the wrong medication and charged me over $14,000. By the time it was done! As a matter of fact I am going back to that hospital and show them what HCA had done and what truly GOOD CARE IS! Thank you ALL at HCA

My first experience with this hospital was,to say the least, very negative. I was 1000% wrong! Good…read morenurses! Attentive care! Cheerful staff! And the food!! EXCELLENT!!! I got some real bad news while there and probably won't be around long. I'd better give them praise while I'm still living! THANK YOU LRMC!!

One star is at least 7/8 too many!…read more LRH & all associated with it are the WORST - in EVERY category! LRH is well known to be one of the WORST hospital/medical care centers- likely if the entire US! Google has them at 3 - that's overly generous in my opinion. I have yet to have anywhere near a positive experience dealing with them, their online systems or their personal. Eg - As a "new patient" you can't get an appointment with any Dr in less than 3 days - usually at least a week. Often two. Even if you were fast-tracked via their ER - bleeding non-stop, etc. - if you're so desperate you go to the ER you wait for over 4 hours while bleeding with absolutely no help given. They take & test blood. Send you for an ultrasound- it takes under 5 min - no questions asked/information given (as I find out later "because they couldn't see anything" - despite the fact I have & could have told them I still have all my body parts! Like I wouldn't know...). Told to see a specialist that they supposedly expedited me to see (that was NOT the case when I called the following day). - then after the ER gives up - sends you home (despite continuing to bleed) you're told "If you feel lightheaded - come back". This despite the fact I'm by myself- driving myself. - Afterwards comes all the bill-paying & access to records "fun". - - their online Epic doest show my tests. It takes about 6 calls with as many of their personnel having no clue or finally one stating "they don't know but think there's yet another system you need access to". Then 2 more calls & a few days delay to get connected to this hospital-only system. - I get billed by both systems. The Epic system (that is almost always so slow as to be of little use during most save early am hours) has a bill pay - for both credit card & bank debit tho doesn't work (come to find out after over a dozen tries) ! It takes all your info the just "spins" post submission. After a week of wasting my time & trying over a dozen times - to pay a 3 cent (yes $0.03 bill apparently cased by a reversal of my payment that was reinstated for more by 3 cents. After about 5 calls - no one apparently has the ability to just wipe out). - In the past, the drs/pas, test personnel- nearly to every one of their personnel I've dealt with (save a few nurses) have been similarly as incompetent, unhelpful & uncaring- some even blatant liars. Few of their phone answering/line droppers, bill paying, useless scheduling staff are anywhere close to even minimally competent as well. LRH is wholly incompetent, uncaring & just the worst excuse for medical care I can possibly hope to ever experience again. If in future I need medical assistance- I will NOT willingly EVER go to LRH again. LRH is a useless incompetent excuse for an institution. I reported my latest experiences to Medicare as fraud. They were not surprised & also have LRH rated very poorly.

We arrived first thing in the morning and went through security who directed us to where we needed to be. Once upstairs, I signed in and waited till I was called and then did the rest of the check-in. It was just a short wait before they called me and back and started getting things ready. I ended up waiting about three hours for my turn in the rotation and once they got me in everything went pretty quick they already had IV set in my arm and shaved the area they would be working on. I was awake for the procedure, but I was medicated and I got to watch part of it on the big screen of the doctor was using. The whole team did a great job and was professional throughout. Everything went really well and then I was sent for postop. I did spend a lot more time there than I thought I would, but there were things they had to be sure of, and the doctor had to sign off on my release at the end. The nursing staff kept me pretty well informed and checked on me continuously while I was there. When it was time to go, they went over all the care and procedures I would need and provided me with paperwork to cover everything. They also sent my new prescriptions to my pharmacy. If you needed an outpatient heart procedure here I can genuinely recommend them. I hope I don't have to come back for anything, but if I do, I know I will be well cared for.
