Even if you have concerns for your child and don't have a diagnosis yet. Call them and ask to speak with one of their counselors. They can help guide you to get the services you need.

We had no idea of what to expect or how our son would adjust to his new therapy. The moment we walked in the door, two warm and reassuring faces welcomed us from the reception desk with beaming smiles, letting us know that everything was going to be okay. I assumed that this was typical protocol for first time visitors--akin to the welcoming committee at death row--and that the grim reality of weekly occupational therapy would quickly set in. My assumption was soon proven wrong after his initial observations with Brittany, a compassionate, smiley therapist who greets our son by name and, after only a few weeks of therapy, knows his strengths, weaknesses, and predilections fluently. With a waiting room fully stocked with developmentally appropriate toys and books and a whole slew of awesome therapy equipment inside, our son can't wait for Tuesdays at OTAP. The only challenge I would mention is access to the office. After navigating rush hour traffic on 206 north of Princeton, the Wall Street office park can be a little confusing, but it's totally worth the effort. Give it a shot. You won't regret it.

Sometimes I can't make my appt and I ask her to check the appt books and see what is available for me and if there's extra openings to replace the one I miss. I doubt that anyone's idea of fun is to drive an hour plus first thing in the morning before the…read moresun is up and then go thru some isometric testing or I guess formally it would be IPCS PCE testing all while you're barely awake but hell, the things you do for a potential job. The office staff made things very easy as there was only minimal paperwork to fill out and I was taken precisely on time. The guy who administered/oversaw the tests also made things very easy as he did a great job of laying out the minimal do's and don'ts. The equipment looked a bit on the dated side and once or twice it had to be recalibrated or reset and the overall look of the screens/the type of beeping it made reminded me of what PC's looked/sounded like back when Windows 95 was a thing but it didn't hurt or maim me so that's worth something right? Door to door it was a little less than two hours but that was keeping things at a country club pace since the guy doing the testing didn't have anything right after me and we BS'ed a fair amount. Hopefully I'll never have to do something like this again but it beat going to Scranton or to Camden, NJ and the staff I encountered made a very foreign experience seem simple. A+
