I had 4 different people greet me after I'd found my seat, ask my name, and introduce themselves - all in a no-pressure kind of way. The church is small enough that you learn people's names, build relationships, and don't feel lost in the crowd, but large enough that you don't feel like you're being intimidated or judged. There's probably roughly 200 attendees at any given service. There are ministries and small groups for all, ranging from nursery, pre-k, and kids all the way up to youth, college and career, and adult groups. Currently due to COVID, the church has worship services in person at 9:30am and 11am on Sundays, and a live stream is available through the Facebook page for the 9:30am service. The people I've interacted with are genuine, the worship is fantastic, and the leadership and preaching is wonderful as well. The church's beliefs are centered on the Bible, and abides by a "glorify, grow and go" mission. I've made countless friends and people that I call family by dropping by here on a whim a few years ago.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, they offer groups based on personal interests. They offer Wed night adult service that focuses on learning more about the history and teaching of the Bible. For parents, the kids' programs are a total lifesaver and a joy for the children: Mother's Day Out and Wednesday Night Groups that keep the kids engaged mid-week with age-appropriate lessons that aren't just "babysitting." Many of the sermons are filled with the pastor's personal stories and experiences. Scripture is always read at the beginning of the service but sometimes the sermon has nothing to do with the text. This church is about growing as large as possible and asking for money. They share the Gospel every Sunday, which is good, but the pastor almost always talks about giving tithes, especially when they are falling behind their projected income. They say it's for the Lord, but they have extravagant events such as all-free steak and potato dinners for the men, entertainment, or games (but the ladies have to pay for their own meals at their events) and paying down their debt to expand. Their $3million+ budget is purposely hidden in terms of staff because they don't want people to know how much the senior pastor makes. It is supposedly an elder-led church, but the senior pastor seemingly makes all the decisions. Unless you go to Sunday School with one of the elders or go out of your way to talk with them, they probably won't know who you are. All this to say, be careful with investing your time, energy, and money at this church. But many people are very comfortable here.

I was also active in the Singles Group which had monthly dinner outings. The church at that time was much smaller than it is now, both in terms of members and church footprint. It's evolved and grown into a sizeable campus, which is absolutely great! Sunday mornings policemen control the traffic and protect those on foot, as their campus straddles Gillespie Road. Who knew they have a frisbee golf course? Their playground area is nice, too! They have a Harvest campus, also! They offer tons of Life Groups including health and wellness groups, for all age ranges! One of my dear long-time friends and his family are members there and I'm so excited because he is on his second year of reading the entire Bible in a year, along with me, as I'm days away from completing the Bible in a year for the fourth year!
